Child's Play

Rate this book
Discovering she is pregnant is one of the happiest moments of Diana Shelton's life. Sure, that discovery leads to a divorce, but that's a small price to have a child of her own. With a thriving business as a playground architect, she thinks life couldn't be better for her.

Or could it?

Because Jason Benton—the principal in charge of her latest commission—is making her think something might be missing. Such as a good-looking man to come home to. But is this single dad who takes life so seriously ready for a romance with a fun-loving woman like Diana? Or can she teach him that love can be as simple as child's play?

This made for a very quick read.

Diana and Jason are obviously attracted to each other, yet both are coming out of a relationship so both aren't exactly in a good place to date each other. Diana is heavily pregnant with a baby that she has always wanted, but her ex-husband wants nothing to do with except for a trophy wife to look after things and play perfect hostess. Jason is not happy that his baby girl is living in another continent and his ex-wife has moved on without seemingly any considerations to their daughter or him.

Jason does seem a little like Richard, in that he is stubborn and use to doing things his way and being traditional/slightly old fashioned. Diana is very vibrant and creative, as shown in her jungle gym creations. I find that these 2 are OK together, not huge pull in the chemistry department.

Richard and his daughter, both of them are some piece of work I tell you! Happy Diana is better off without either of them.

The hero and heroine should have listened to their doubts. All they really had going for them was physical attraction. I did not particularly like either of them especially the hero.

The book was very easy to read. Due to larger print it took less time to read. The story line is unlike something I have read before. Overall liked reading it very much.

Nice story. Heroine is very pregnant when she and the hero meet on a flight to Denver where they both live. She got divorced when she got pregnant because her now-ex gave her a him or baby ultimatum. The hero is flying back from Paris where his ex moved with their daughter and her new squeeze. Neither of them is interested in a new relationship, but attraction happens. The conflicts seemed a bit lightweight, but it's a nice read overall.
