Outstanding economic underpinning with lucid explanations :)

Yup! That pretty much sums it up. It explains all the formulae needed (e.g. NPV, IRR etc) and how to apply those to valuate software projects. It talks about the importance of WBS (work break down structure) and how that can be used to create financial business cases of those projects.

The book is heavily inclined towards financial business case analysis for software projects, BEFORE starting them to analyse their "value" (i.e. is it worth it). It walks you through various models along with those for cost-benefit analysis, financial metrics, decision making and how they all link together.

The explanations are very clear and you DON'T have to be a financial wizard to understand it! It explains the concepts - I sincerely wish back in school if the folks could explain economics this way.

It's a must on a project manager's bookshelf. Read it to believe it.

I had to leave a review seeing a previous 1-star which I felt was very unfair and may put people off from reading this wonderful tome.
