Probably the most entertaining book on typography i've ever read. Good coverage of 1st year fundamentals. It's not developed enough to be called the Flatland of type, but headed in that direction.

Great first time approach to typography. Here, the subject is discussed mingled with a fictional story throughout wich the knowledge of good typography will be essential to solve the case.
