This book is fantastic if you are simply looking for a book displaying tons of pictures of insanely intricate perfect sugar art. The authors are obviously masters of their trade, as every flower and leaf look so real! But if you are interested in learning to make perfect sugar art yourself, this book is NOT a great tool for teaching you. Instead of step-by step instructions with photos on making various flowers from gumpaste, this book simply has photos of perfect cakes displaying the flower in question, then a paragraph or two describing making the flower, along with one or two pencil sketches. I can't understand how anyone is supposed to wrap their head around the intricacies of gumpaste flower making by simply reading about it and looking at one or two pencil diagrams. It really requires several step-by-step photographs of the flower in progress. So do not buy this book thinking you will learn sugar art. Buy it simply for cake photographs and inspiration.

This book is the most detailed one I've found on gumpaste flowers. It's a little old, but really good. Lily of the Valley cakes are my favorites.
