Love Matters, Not Size; The Long and the Short of First Love; They put the Comedy back in Complex R to L (Japanese Style). When Risa and Ôtani are invited to Mighty and Jody's wedding on a tropical island--all expenses paid--the world couldn't seem sunnier! But when they arrive with the gang, Risa and Ôtani discover they're expected to share a room. Will the stress of the uncomfortable situation cast clouds on the festivities? Risa Koizumi is the tallest girl in class, and the last thing she wants is the humiliation of standing next to Atsushi Ôtani, the shortest guy. Fate and the whole school have other ideas, and the two find themselves cast as the unwilling stars of a bizarre romantic comedy duo.

I think it’s my favorite volume yet, first of all I am SO happy for both seiko and kohori that finally got their happy ending; I liked the marriage/vacation arc that added depth and growth in ôtani and risa’s relationship; and I loved the last part where the basketball team said goodbye and thank you to ôtani that got me so emotional❤️

Once more, the story is kept appropriate for teenagers. Had potential to be more, even by keeping it appropriate but didn't use it.

I think this might be one of my favorite volumes. Nothing really groundbreaking happened to the main couple or anything, but I really just liked the everyday normalcy this volume had?? I really like how there’s depth to Almost every character that plays a role in the story. The first chapter we saw seiko who was struggling with her gender identity after what seemed like a permanent voice change struck, resulting in her getting a deeper voice she herself thinks makes her disgusting. We see her go back to her old ways convinced she has to be a boy now to be somewhat normal, even going as far as cutting her hair, changing her clothes and going back to her deadname. We see how Risa is truly a good friend by trying her best to stop her from doing something so drastic, burning her hand in the process when she tries to fetch a piece of clothing seiko was putting in the incinerator. We find out it was just a cold that caused the change in her voice and she feels comfortable again expressing herself as the gender she feels most comfortable with, and with the help of her friends she confesses to the guy she has been eyeing for a while now. Who funnily enough seems to be connected to Risa once again, as he is kohori.

The next chapter has the gang going overseas to be guests at their teachers wedding. There are a lot of bumps between not only the married couple but Risa and Otani too when they have to share a room. We see Risa is clearly freaked out by this as she doesn’t feel like she’s ready to take such a step in their relationship. Otani does his best to be understanding even staying in a different room so his girlfriend feels comfortable. Later after they talk a bit and clear the air they manage to sleep together (LITERALLY) and Risa confesses she “loves Otani the most” to a presumably sleeping Otani.

Avis global :

This is also one of my favorite volumes. Love Com, for the most part, is pretty PG rated, which is why the twist in this volume is so interesting. The gang goes on vacation to Maity's wedding and the duo discover that they're supposed to share a room and a bed. Whoops.

We get a lot of fun insecurity from both characters as well as some pretty typical teenage angst--what do you do when you love who you're with but you're not ready to take that step? This volume deals with it really well, with just the right amount of seriousness and hilarity. An excellent, excellent volume.
