About the author

Masashi Tanaka (田中政志) is a Japanese manga artist best known for Gon, his silent manga starring a miniature dinosaur. He began publishing Gon in 1991. He later worked on the game Street Fighter EX.

I love "Gon"; it is a thoroughly unique combination of extremely detailed nature drawing, a fanciful miniature dinosaur marooned in a geologically modern world (though one without humanity's presense) that somehow fits in perfectly, and tales of adventure that the writer/artist pulls off without a single word, thought balloon, or even sound effect. This volume has the grim-faced little dino plowing through a number of natural disasters, and while it's neither the funniest nor most brutal of the series, the art is, as always, absolutely incredible.

Auch dieses Cover gefällt mir sehr gut. Es zeigt unseren kleinen Dino Gon bei seinem neusten Abenteuer inmitten unter Elefanten. Das ist sehr passend gewählt und wieder so detailreich, dass man sich kaum satt sehen kann. Klasse.



Eigener Eindruck:

In seinem vorletzten Abenteuer begibt sich der kleine Tyrannosaurier Gon wieder in verschiedene Abenteuer rund um die Tierwelt. So beschließt der kleine Racker einen Berg zu besteigen, den höchsten, den er finden kann. Dabei trifft er auf so manch eingebildeten Bock, der denkt, dass er besser in den Bergen voran kommt, als Gon und er macht es sich bei einer Schneeleopardenfamilie bequem, um dort die Nacht zu verbringen. Außerdem macht sich Gon auf den Weg, um einen alten Elefanten das letzte Geleit zu geben. Es gilt sich gegen Fressfeinden zu behaupten und die letzte Reise für den alten Elefanten so unbeschwerlich wie möglich zu machen, dabei müssen die beiden mit Hunger und Durst und Naturgewalten kämpfen. Aber Gon wäre nicht Gon, wenn er nicht eine Lösung für all die Probleme wüsste.

Auch in diesem sechsten Band kann der Leser in die detaillierte Tierwelt abtauchen und sie mit Gon zusammen entdecken. Es gibt spannende und traurige Momente. Der Mangaka hat sich weiterhin sehr viel Mühe mit seinen Zeichnungen gegeben, sodass jedem Fan von Anime- und Mangazeichnungen regelrecht das Wasser im Mund zusammen läuft. Jedes Panel ist einfach ein Erlebnis! Ganz ohne Worte erzählt der Mangaka die Geschichte, indem er mit seinen imposanten Bildern arbeitet. Es ist einfach ein Fest für die Augen und wird nicht langweilig. Wirklich super gemacht.

Not my favorite of the Gon volumes.

17- Gon and the Bird Nest on His Head
I actually quite liked this one! The baby birds were so cute and I felt bad for them being stuck with Gon. It was a fun chapter.

18- Gon and his Wounded Fellows
1 star. I usually love the artwork in the Gon series, but it was hard to make out what was going on and I didn't quite understood what happened at all or what the animals were even doing.

19- Gon Climbs a Mountain
It was fine. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Had some things I liked.

20- Gon with the Wise, Huge Elephant
I'd read this one years ago, and the first time I read it I LOVED it and it was one of my favorite Gon chapters. I thought it was so beautiful. This didn't pack the same punch this time around, but I still enjoyed it and think highly of it.

Tak bosan2nya menyampaikan bahwa Gon adalah kombinasi yang benar-benar unik dari gambar alam yang sangat detail, dinosaurus mini yang fantastis yang terdampar di dunia yang secara geologis modern (meskipun tanpa kehadiran manusia) yang entah bagaimana cocok secara sempurna, dan kisah petualangan yang dilakukan Tanaka sensei tanpa sepatah kata pun, balon komik, atau bahkan efek suara hhi. Volume ini menyampaikan si dino kecil yang membajak sejumlah bencana alam, dan meskipun ini bukan seri yang paling lucu, artwork sensei seperti biasa, benar-benar luar biasa.

Again with the poor wolf creature!!
Gon shows such perseverance and grit. No wonder he keeps amassing a posse of similarly strong creatures!
Beautiful vistas and animal illustrations.
Hilarious yet haunting, especially the final story.

Гон в Африці. Смішнючі вирази обличчя (?) тварин не набридають незважаючи на повторюваність сюжету: Гон приходить в нове оточення, всіх ображає, йому намагаються помститися, він крутить всім хвоста, йому крутять хвоста, розв'язка.
