R to L (Japanese Style) Meet Choco and Mimi, best friends in eighth grade. Choco is serious and reliable while Mimi is silly and spoiled rotten, but they both have a flair for fashion! Choco's crush Ando has a new friend who Mimi thinks looks like a prince! And Ando's new music buddy is a pretty girl! Do Mumu and Choco have new rivals?! More friends, more fashion and more laughs! An irresistibly cute, fantastically funny, fashion-forward comic
I feel exactly the same about this volume as the previous one I read. I kinda did find that I enjoyed it slightly more, but only slightly. I didn't necessarily dislike it, it was just not my type of read, and I was outside the target audience. I liked some of the panels in how a few of the stories were told and how it was done. The writer has a cute art style. The introduction of new characters added something new to this story. It was purely fun.
Cute, fun, and a lot like the first one! However, this volume adds two main new cast members, as well as a few side characters! Things are a lot more lively, but for whatever reason, I don’t think I enjoyed this one quite as much as the first.
Don’t get me wrong, it was still cute! I just didn’t really love all the ‘spells’, and also, I think I’ve read it somewhat more recently than the first one- I remember many of the jokes. However, I did forget just how much I adore Mikami! Bambi, Jun and his crush are also fun, but something about Mikami is simply perfect.
All in all, it was still totally a fun book! Cute art, fun characters, and I did laugh many times.I would recommend to kids or anyone looking for a fluffy read, and I’ll be reading the next one very soon, hopefully!
(This book contains some rude jokes, talk about weight, childish spells, and some fluffy romance. Mimi states that her first love was Choco, her best friend, but it is a girl-crush for sure. There is also lots of holidays, such as Christmas and Valentine’s day. I would give it an age rating of all-ages!)
