Although different in format from many of the other books that Bernie has written, this one is just as empowering and life-affirming. As the title states, there are 365 ideas meant to be a, “…daily guide and resource…” for anyone on this journey through life. In addition to the daily “prescriptions”, Bernie has added relevant quotes from other luminaries throughout history and he follows the prescription with a “Solution of the Day”. I understand that life makes no guarantee; however, I also know with great certainty that if you read this, and take the time to implement the “solution of the day”, your life will be improved, as well the lives of those care about. I don’t mind being redundant when it comes to reviewing Ernie’s books, he is truly one of the gentlest and kindest souls among us.

Sometimes, it’s very difficult to stay positive. I don’t know a single person who couldn’t use a little more hope and love in their life. 365 Prescriptions for the Soul brings that to us for a whole year.

As the title suggests, 365 Prescriptions for the Soul includes an inspirational message of hope and love for each day of the year. At the top of each page is an inspirational quote. Each entry below that includes a bit of text which could be a story, a poem, a thought, or a little advice. Then, at the bottom of each page, there is a little section called Solution of the Day. These are things to contemplate or things to do that day.

I really like the format of this book. The entries provided inspiration, food for thought, and then something positive to do each day.

What a fun book :) I loved it!! He did this really great interview on Steve Maraboli radio show. Bernie is the real deal. Fantastic interview inspired me to get the equally fantastic book. Must read!

I love this book. It's always on my bedside table. At the end of the day, you can always find some hope/inspiration, or just look at things from a totally different perspective.

This is a great homespun book of wisdom from a physician who was controversial many years ago related to "alternative treatments" for serious disease. I probably would not have approved 30 years ago but now see the additional perspective that he brings to the table. Plus, he has a good (albeit "Dad joke") sense of humor.

"A “NEW YEAR” — I think the term is an oxymoron. How can you have a new year? You are the same person, and the world doesn’t start again with a clean slate. Your troubles don’t disappear. People don’t forgive you for what you did the year before. Unless you have amnesia, your life is anything but new when you awaken on the first day of the year. It is simply a way of measuring the passage of time. Why make such a fuss over it? The truth lies in our desire to be reborn, to start again, to make resolutions and changes we can live up to."

I am in the middle of a long year of battling chronic asthma, with high-dose steroid treatment, and am drawing amazing inspiration from Dr. Siegel's writing. He helps me not to fall into the mire of fear and self-pity and enjoy every day, even when I can't leave my room!
