I was drowning in a superficial life. Until I met her.
Right when I hit rock bottom on a promotional tour, Maggie Sharp appears on the other side of a dressing room, forced into the same space while we wait for her very first show to begin.
She’s everything I’m not.
Kind. Genuine. So innocent it hurts.
And she has no idea who I am.
To the other, we’re nothing but shadows, hidden by a silk screen.
But in the space of an hour, I feel like she knows me better than anyone.
Maggie doesn’t need me to slow her down before she’s even gotten started.

When not writing, she is hanging out with her family, playing soccer with the rest of the thirty-plus crowd in Seattle, or going on dates with her husband. In her spare time, she likes to go running or practice the piano, but never seems to do either one of these things as much as she should.
Oh man I hadn't realized how much I missed Will and Maggie. This little prequel to their story which is the Discreet duet is everything I didnt know I needed and was completely blown away. We dive into Will and Maggie's backstory and how their story all began. The chemistry these two have will burn up the pages of your reader. Absolute must read and then dive straight into the Discreet duet and get all the feels.
Wow just wow, this novella was amazing. I love everything Nicole writes to be honest and this ne was not the exception.
We get a prequel to Will and Maggie story. It really hurts my heart how much Will struggled with his life and how nobody listened that he had to resort to the extreme. It was nice seeing a little bit of Maggie before everything with her mom.
This two have been thru so much and I'm happy they get the happy ending they deserve.
I am a huge fan of Nicole French but had yet to read this duet series and this prequel has me so excited to jump into the next book. As always, Nicole does an awesome job of character development! Will and Maggie both such complex histories. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store!! Love it!
This book gives you a look into Maggie and Will before their story. Will is on a downward serial of drugs and other things and his life is getting out of control. One night backstage he meets Maggie and they have a conversation. Maggie doing a concert At a club is getting ready for her set when a strang man is in her dressing room. They both have fears and are talking about things and he starts to see he needs a change. After they hug and kiss they agree to meet again after the show. When a fight breaks out they don't get to meet again. After that disaster Will's father has a heart attack and he is set to make a huge change. When he sets his plan in motion he will do everything to see it thru. Can Will make his clean break and get the life he wanted? Will he find what he is looking for? Will Maggie get her big break? Will they see each other again? Absolutely amazing, emotional, heartbreaking read that gives you a look at these two before and to see where it all started. I am looking forward to what this author has next.
There are no words to explain how much I loved the Discreet Series and of course I love everything you, Nicole French write. So take my 5 stars because I know I'll love this prequel just as much as everything you write!! **
I enjoyed this one, although it didn’t feel much like an intro, it was longer than one and but well fleshed out.
The premise is interesting enough with the story focusing mostly on Fitz Baker, a hotshot actor who is surrounded by industry vultures with parents who I honestly don’t think gave a single damn about him which sucked (his dad’s passivity especially pissed me off). Fitz is on a downward spiral when he ‘meets’ Maggie, a budding artiste in her dressing room backstage. They are both seeking an escape from the noise and they strangely enough never actually see each other’s faces but still manage to form a connection before her first big performance. Afterwards, some stuff go down and they lose contact.
This was a strange one. I found the fact that the two love interests never actually saw each other despite sharing a kiss and all a bit corny, but I powered through cause the story was written quite well. But I was lost in the last few chapters, when Fitz suffers a family emergency that he’s blamed for (I was like where is this accusation coming from and why is he even taking it seriously), and then a makes a drastic decision that I didn’t really care for but I guess anything for the plot and drama, right?
This the story of a young star named Fitzwilliam Baker who when he first became a star when he was young his mother was his agent. His mother made him feel like he was just a prized money machine and didn't seem to think about how the Hollywood life was affecting him. He felt like he didn't have a childhood and his father who was a fisherman in Vermont, let his mother do what she wanted and never stood up to Trish aka his agent, mother and ex-agent. His new agent Benny was his best friend and he was really trying to help his friend get back on track after his split from the women he thought he loved and was in love with him but they were both young actors and Ameila, she used him to get ahead. The there is Maggie Sharp who changed her last name and was becoming a country singing sensation until she was abused by this rich young man named Theo who came from wealth and was part of the entertainment industry. This prequel was good and so I am definitely ready to read the discreet duet. This was a good read.
Fitz Baker is a top Hollywood star, most sexy playboy ever, but he’s unhappy, lonely, doing drugs to overcome an extreme social anxiety disorder. He’s spiraling and hardly coping. At a function he was obliged to assist, he’s feeling lower than ever, and hides in a dressing room. The owner of the room arrives, Maggie Sharp. She’s the biracial daughter of a small town’s drunk who came to New York to make her way writing songs. This day was her chance and she’s about to puke. But meeting this stranger who held her hand gave both of them the strength and motivation to forge on.
On that day, fate joined together two broken souls who found solace in each other. Their magnetism was clear and strong. The book ends in a very sad way, product of the loneliness that can only exist when your parents are not protecting you. Continues with Hollywood Secret.
This book is everything and so much more! I knew that being from the mind of Ms. French that it was going to be so well rounded, steamy, thorough, and yet drive me mad with anticipation…and it did not disappoint. There is so much emotion, confliction, frustration, sadness, yet excitement, mystery, longing, and hope all at the same time. The characters are brilliantly written and from page one you are wanting to know more about them. Then you make it to the last page and you feel like you are friends and just so invested in their lives that you can’t help but want more.
Be prepared to get lost in this story and in these characters in such a way that before you know it, you’ve come to the end of the book screaming, “what?! How did that happen so soon??”
I enjoyed this book and this series. This book is about Will and Maggie. Maggie is performing some of her songs but she is extremely nervous when she talks to a stranger about her nerves. He helps her with her problem by talking to her. Will is the man. She doesn't seem to know what to do with him. Later they meet again.
When they meet again she doesn't know who he is but he knows and he's attracted to her.
This prequel to the Discreet Duet is Five Amazing Stars! We knew from the Duet that Will and Maggie's paths had fleetingly crossed years before. Here we get all the details of that meeting and how much it impacted both of their lives. The connection these two had without even seeing each other is mind blowing!
These two are one of my favorite couples so getting all the dirt on their actual first meeting was like a treasure! The butterflies, the tingles, the chemistry! Magical! Now I think I will go and reread the Discreet Duet!
I love Will and Maggie's beginnings. Tgey both had to go through their turmoil to find themselves again. By experiencing the pain and angst they learned to appreciate, accept and love themselves before sharing that love with each other. Fate obviously played a part with their brief encounter many years before and then for Will to settle down in Maggie's hometown.
This is a prequel to Hollywood Secrets and Hollywood Chase (The Discreet Duo). I would suggest not reading this book first. I read it after and was quite happy with that reading order. It gives away things that are best revealed slowly.
Hollywood star Fitz first meets Maggie before her first major concert.
I have always loved this couple ever since reading the Discreet Duet. Will and Maggie will always have a special place in my heart and it was great to read their beginnings.
As always with Nicole you get great writing, fab plot and she always takes you to a place where you can see every detail that she’s giving you.
If you haven’t read the series I highly recommend you do as you won’t regret it.

Hollywood Touch is the prequel to the Discrete duet. I loved getting to know Will and Maggie's back stories. Their chemistry is off the charts! This book definitely makes me want to dive back into their series!!
Will s lifestyle is sending him down a wrong path. By chance met Maggie who also has experience with same trauma by her mother s life style. A small conversation that started it all between this two character. Definitely a deep dive into how they connected to each other.
It was great to find out how Will and Maggie first met and the path that they lives took. They hadn’t seen each other’s faces just talk but they was a connection that they both shared. Maggie froze on stage and Will was there to help her out even though she couldn’t see his face he could see hers.
Why did he give up the relationship/connection with Maggie. I mean. I understand why. Maybe I expected him to see her shows or become her stalker...good read though.

As usual Nichole French writes a book that I can’t put down. This prequel was exactly what you need to understand more of Will and Maggie’s relationship and what brings them together and some of the decisions they made. I loved this book and was so glad that I took the time to read it.
What amazing prequel of Will and Maggie story. It is a beautiful read that is full of emotion and thought was a enduring the end of time. This was amazing read that was beautiful written.
This prequel to the Discreet series shows Will and Maggie meeting many years previously and how drawn they were to each other even then. As with every Nicole French book we read the writing and plot are exceptional. A perfect starter to the amazing Discreet Series
Hollywood Touch is the prequel to the Discreet duet that we all wanted and needed. This novella gives us more insight to Will and Maggie before they made the decisions they did that brought them together. This is an outstanding job my Nicole French and a must read!
Cute, hot little novella that gives us a great insight into both Will and Maggie's backgrounds. Their chemistry was next level from the beginning and I really enjoyed seeing them at the start of it all. If you haven't met Will and Maggie yet jump on this, they are a must!
I’m at a loss for words as to how incredible this novella is. I was first introduced to Will and Maggie in The Discreet Duet and this is the prequel to that fabulous series. I didn’t realize how much I missed Will and Maggie until I read this. My heart is so full and I fell in love all over again with these two. The details of how they met and how I could envision their first encounter is mind blowing. The way this author writes, I could feel the intensity of their emotions in my very heart and soul. If ever there was a novella to read, this is it. Then you have to read the rest of Will & Maggie’s journey with the Discreet Duet, it will hold you captive from beginning to end. Trust me, you need Will & Maggie in your life!
