Dick Sterling, worked at Trakton, a multinational manufacturing company, got a early retirement with no reason. He found out that his boss Keith Lennox and colleague Molly had an affair. Keith, Molly, and Vish, office manager, were involved in corruption that made many colleagues retire early. He has found enough evidences to send them to court for revenge. However, Lakshmi, the one he really wanted to marry, told him that we should leave judgement to God. He listened to her because of love and those corrupt people did suffer punishment in the end.
It tells a story about how Dick, a general manager in Madras,a multinational manufacturing company, was fired and then found the sectorys of his boss, keith Lennox, and the sectory under this company. In addition, during this period, he found true love of his life.
The story is fine, not very interesint. When I read it, I almost sleep because I can predict the end easily.
The end is a little out imagine. The bad like Keith, was punished by God. Dick gave up revenge as his wife tole him "we should leave judgement to God.People like that are punished by what they become". of coures, the bad got terrible end in the novel.
Karma. Morality. To encourage good and to punish evil. This book is combined with those sort of things. I guess the writer might fall in love with Asian religion or philosophy before. I am totally for this writer's opinion. If i do good, i will be praised in any kind of term, and if i do bad, i will be punished in any kind of term;therefore, i tend to try to be a good moral person.
One retired man found out the dark secret about his retirement and the inner information of his company. He tried to revenge for what people did to him because he could not stand their immortal behavior. However, due to one wise beautiful woman, he could get out of his blind anger, and he let all dark secret go off his hands. He let everything be on God.
I cannot help but think the ending is a little bit artificial even though i agree bad things have to be punished. If the ending is illustrated in different types of Karma, this book will be better than now. Anyway this book is instructive.
UOOOOOOWWW ! Veery nice book !!! In the begin , it was a hard to understand about the story .. There were several hard words for me ...
However , the book is pretty interesting .. An english executive who is dismissed , when he tries to discover the corruption that was happening within his company .. After all , he falls in depression and starts drinking a lot of alcoholic drinks , by the time his marriage breaks up and he stays alone .. no jobs and no family ..
So he decides to search about his dismissed , and the adventure begin .. this book left me one life's lesson :
" We should leave the judgement to God , people are punished by they become , you have no reason to vengeance .. just leave it in God's hand."
Another detective book recommended by professor Brendan who taught 'Academic English'. The plot was easy to follow and the ending was good. I like happy ending! :)
