Excellent summary and background information for the people in the Doctrine and Covenants. Collected and created by several Church educators.
Not published by the church but it is similar to information found in Revelations in Context that was published by the Church.

I'm somewhat disappointed in this book because it's more shallow than I had hoped. Still, it does have some good information in encyclopedia form about people mentioned in the D&C and includes pictures where possible. It's not an indispensable reference book but is reasonably helpful.
