It all began when she was a student at New York University, Simcha landed an internship at the post-production house that dubbed the first seasons of the Pokémon television show. What started as a summer job in college has turned into a lifelong passion for Pikachu and writing for children. Simcha has authored dozens of Pokémon Books from short stories for beginning readers to detailed encyclopedias for dedicated anime fans. In her free time, Simcha loves to read with her husband and daughter, both of whom look just like Squirtle.
I've been teaching for some time. Pokemon cards came into existence during this time. I didn't quite understand them, but having a baseball card background, I accepted it. Then television shows and books came. That I've never understood!
I found this on my daughter's bookshelf. I gather we purchased it for her from a book fair. I just read it. I must say, I didn't understand it. Why would they want to capture Yanma? That was never made clear. What is a Poke Ball? It was almost as if this book was written in a foreign language. I guess I am growing old.
My 8 years old son has been into pokemon and actually requested that i would bring some pokemon books to read. Well, he selected this one to be his first Pokemon book, it was a major let down, not much of the story. We were both disappointed in it. We should probably lower our expectations on this series.
So I followed this story decently well even if I really have not watched the show much. For a Pokemon story not bad and it actually made me want to understand how the whole pokemon trainer thing went. Grades 2+
