Krista's little brother Tyler is such brat that she wishes he would disappear--or turn into a bug--but when he actually turns into a beetle, she has to get him back to normal before Mom gets home. Original.
If I'd had anything else to read (like even a cereal box), I would've stopped around page 50 where the whole alien business shows up. I'm pretty forgiving, but the (fairly) consistent voice and honest (but shallow) characterization couldn't come close to making up for the lazy plotting. That said, I'm about 20 years too old to be reading this book if I hadn't read everything else available to me at the time. I probably would have been more forgiving of this book if I'd read it in 3rd grade, maybe even liked it.
