"A perfect way to unwind from the day . . . and get ready for bed! Slowly we wander home, too tired to play, / Sun-kissed and happy from our lovely day." After a day full of excitement, a parent and child mouse head home, knowing that the lullaby moon will shine down on them all through the night. With lyrical text and cuddly pastel illustrations, this is the coziest way to ease into bedtime.
This book has quite a few lessons that would be insightful for K-2 students. This is the story of a mom and child mouse who go out exploring one night. They end up noticing all sorts of small, unnoticed parts of life that they learn are taken for granted. I think that students can always grow in focusing on the moment and the details of life, so this book would be great in my classroom.
The pictures are cute but the text is too difficult for the ages (0-2). It is meant for the 0-2 but it would be more suitable for kids 3+. My daughter is 15 months old and it didn't captivate her attention for more than 2 pages.
Nana got this book for Jack. It is so dang cute and sweet.
She read it to him before bed tonight. He seemed to like the mice and the moon, which is always a hit. But he did tune in and out, alternating between playing and listening to the story.
This wonderful oversized board book follows mother and baby moose throughout their day. Lyrically written and with great illustrations, this is a fun book to read together either at bedtime or anytime with your special little ones.
I saw this at the Curious George bookstore in Harvard Square and bought it. I think it has wonderfully sweet illustrations and a calming and reassuring text. Just adorable, cute, and sweet. I'm putting this away for any future baby showers that I am asked to attend.
This is great book to read to young children before bedtime. It helps them rethink what they had done that day, and how now it is time to let themselves rest and sleep so tomorrow they can start more adventures.
This is a cute little book to read at bedtime. The book is very descriptive and paints a really nice picture in your head. For example: "The silvery stream sings a rippling tune."
What a peaceful little book, perfect for bedtime. In the book, everyone is winding down and getting ready for bed as the sun sets. I enjoyed reading this one to my little one.
I LOVE stories about the moon ... probably because I enjoy looking at the moon and the stars. This is a brief look at the evening hours, saying good-bye to a day, through the eyes of nature.
