One of my favorite authors that offers you a little more than just a sexy tale but also bit of a brain with Rynne being a scientist. Her romance with Pierce is beautiful in more than one way. It makes you appreciate all the truly skin-deep attractions within one another.

Wow this book was awful. First of all the female lead is so(oooooooooooo) annoying and this is the first time I actually wished the female lead would just go away. The male lead was ok but nothing really special about him except the scars everyone kept on mentioning. And all the minor characters really didn't help develope the main characters the way I was hoping, they just were there. Also Sally (Pierce's sister, who is the male lead) was overdone and a little fanatical, I could have done without her character in the novel because she didn't bring anything to the novel, not even a bit of conflict. Rynne (lead female) getting attacked was uncalled for and stupid it also had nothing to do with the novel itself and didn't deliver or lead to anything, so it was basically just there. I could go on and on about the things that are wrong with this novel, and it still would not give justice to how bad it really was. I will NEVER read this again.

SOMEBODY CALL AN EDITOR! Over a dozen mistakes in the first 30 pages. I was not feeling' this read at all. R's chance meeting with the scarred guy and the familial prejudices were really contrived devices used to pull this story along. The characters were stick figures being traipsed around on this writers' stage. Did not finish. Not for me~

This was a great storyline and overall a good book, but there were just too many errors for me to ignore. I would have gladly given this book more than 3 stars ( and that was generous) but form the name changes of Bryon to Byron throughout the book to the major errors of leaving words out of sentences and misspellings it was just plain annoying! Where was the editor for this book?????

I agree this was a good story. Pierce was forced to become a hermit because of disfiguring scars he received from an accident. Rynne was a chemist who created a cream that could fade his scars and allow him to live his life normally again. They meet and Rynne pushes a friendship that turns into love.
The problem: Rynne's brother doesn't like Pierce mainly because of his scars. Pierce's sister is a hateful racist witch, who will do just about anything to get Rynne out of her brother's life. Rynne doesn't want Pierce to know her true identity for fear that Pierce will reject her. Pierce has physical scars that are easy to see. Rynne has emotional scars from the past, that aren't easily seen and are even harder to heal. Will their love for each other heal their scars?
This was a really good story, but the editing was so bad I found myself circling the errors with a pencil. This book could have received 5 stars, but because of the poor editing it gets 3.5 stars. Regardless, Marie Rochelle is growing on me as a author and I will definitely read more of her books.

Good storyline & message, especially as the message (interacial relationships) is soooo applicable in the world today. Especially loved the twist the lady wasn't the common damsle in distress, but that she had a brain, firey attitude and somewhat independent. But was able to see that she needed that balance of letting love in. Must admit that some parts felt a bit unrealistic, but hey, guess that's why its under "fiction". Not sure if its just that I got a bad ebook version or something, but there were alot of grammatical/ editorial errors & that is what hampered me from giving it a higher rating. But overall, this book has piqued my interest in getting my hands on more books written by Marie Rochelle (love the interacial/ romance mesh)

The hero is definitely unbearable but lovable at the same time. I really hated the way he got so angry so quick, yet he had obviously been hurt and in an unimaginable way, so I guess it is true-women love bad boys, but fortunately this one can be tamed and with a very happy ending. I really liked this book although it was briefer then I would have liked.
