It Caught Everyone by Surprise A woman finds a phone with a few video clips recorded by a man who has “seen some things.” They are living through a strange pandemic that is difficult to control. Civil society has started to inexplicably break down. Some suspect millions of zombies already walk the earth, but only a few know what they truly are.
This World Deserves a Better Class of Zombie One of humanity’s greatest achievements is its ability to form complex communities. This is simultaneously the cause of its most devastating downfall. The disease hides in plain sight. People willingly infect themselves and others without knowing why. It would be easy to avoid walking corpses and cannibalistic infected, but none exist in this world. Instead, people can no longer trust their closest friends and family.
Most Realistic Zombie Story Ever Parasites and Fungi can already turn their animal hosts into zombies, forcing them to behave in a manner that spreads it to more hosts. Infected rats are more attracted to cats, ensuring cross-species spread. Infected frogs become more attractive to their mates, who breed more than just babies. It’s only a matter of time before one of these infections jumps to us.
This is a very good, quick, short zombie story! Only 17 or so pages, but it grabbed me from the first page & I literally flew through to the end! Brilliant idea & imagerary! I really great read! Excellent for a coffee break!
This was a concise quick short dystopian story. The angle was different which made the progression of the plot quite jarring at times. Effective. I’m a sucker for medical jargon, so that element sat just fine with me. I quickly felt the characters moods and environment. I would read from you again. Cheers!

Wow. And I do mean that. Wow. I don’t know if I just read sex-is-evil propaganda, or all-humans-are-degenerates-admit-it narrative. I’m not sure what to do with it.
I love zombie stories, I work in a comic book store for hades sake image is my favorite publisher horror works for me. I saw this was around 5000 words and thought, well that’s one break at work what can it hurt, sure I’ll give it a shot there’s nothing I can’t deal with for 10 pages. And it is very dealable, very readable. Enjoyable? Um, maybe?
I feel like I read a short story about why sex is bad? Maybe that wasn’t on the surface of this writer’s brain, I’m not gonna speak for them I know nothing of them, but it is CERTAINLY an undertone that you come away with.
Aside from that, the formatting of watching the PoV watch videos on a phone she found was interesting. Apocalypses that take place in our world are always more interesting when you use modern vehicles for storytelling, like video diaries and ipods, at least in my opinion. It anchors it in the real world. The dying battery of the phone presents a time crunch and a reminder that even though we have a phone—the world definitely is coming to an end. No electricity, last chance. This isn’t supposed to be a feel-good happy ending story, so I’m not angry that it’s dark or has sexual themes, But the moral undertones present throughout put me off the rest of the series.
I received a copy from Voracious Readers for review.
It's definitely an interesting take on a zombie apocalypse, an apparently undetectable parasite, and the use of video diaries to tell the story is novel. The paranoia is palpable, leaning into societal fears around sex and violence, and what desires are 'normal' or 'abnormal', but the execution is a little lacking. The dialogue from our mysterious gentleman feels stilted and heavy on exposition rather than feeling how a person would actually talk, but maybe that's just my personal bias. This reads like the first chapter of a much longer book, and would perhaps have benefitted from having the whole story in one volume rather than releasing it one chapter at a time. There's definitely potential for a really interesting story here though, just needs a little polishing around the edges.
I received this book or short story and was asked for an honest review. So, honestly... I liked it. I believe my favorite detail of this is someone watching a woman who is watching videos on a phone she found. And apparently, with it being a post-apocalyptic setting, there is no electricity, so whatever battery the phone has is what she has to work with. I like the twist to the zombie parasite and how it affects the host. Well done, I look forward to reading more.
Very interesting premise, and I’ll be looking for the rest of the story.
I read it several times, to make sure I didn’t skip pages, because as I was investing in the story, it was over. Leaving me with many unanswered questions, and the premise was such a good one! This story is told from a somewhat different perspective, and sounded just like some of my patients, who have been terminally ill.
This is really not my kind of book, however it is a different type of virus story. A virus that is changing people has been done often and well in some stories, this one is not the usual type of virus story. I do like the original concept and the author's attempt at not making this the usual viral infection has taken over the world story.
I was intrigued by the story line and even though it's a short story, it had potential to be a great story. I liked the different virus idea and the telling of the story but it's all over the place and no build up and I could not get into the characters.
The story did not flow well and I think it needed to pace itself better
I received this book from Voracious Readers for an honest review.
This is a very short book about a woman who found a phone with videos from a man who has seen some things. The story is in a video format where she is watching videos. At the end it just ends. Left you hanging for more. It was a good read just could've been more to it then what I've read.
I must admit To be disappointed by the abrupt ending; my guess either the author didn't know a satisfactory conclusion or just decided 'I don't have one leave it' other than that it held my interest to continue reading.

First rule of writing:, show, don't tell. All we got was this guy telling us what happened, and what happened sounds like some very Freudian adolescent fantasy.
Weak premise that just comes across as an excuse to write about sex.
A 27 page book never felt so long. This is entirely pornographic exposition that judges the reader for finding it sexual. "She grabbed my member" just doesn't belong in transcripts of zombie apocalypse video diaries.
*Received a free copy of this book and these are my own opinions.
I love anything about zombies, but this is a new take on them. I don't think I would call the zombies though. I wish it was a little longer to know more, if there is a second book I will read it.
When I read the description of the book I thought it was a full-length book, this is definitely a short story. Also, the story jumps right into the middle of the situation. It almost feels like you’re missing half of the information to get you to where the story picks up.
