If I understand this correctly, when you adapt a story to a new medium, it should justify its existence, right? This graphic novel does not do that. Words are on the page that occur in the episode, and sometimes the drawings actually look like the actors, but it is an immensely worse experience than just booting up the disc and watching everything unfold.
You can tell that they weren’t comfortable with how the characters look, since everyone has huge chunks of their faces blacked out. And when they don’t, you’ll wish they did. There’s also no inspiration to the panel structure and color scheme/art style. In fact, this comic actively sucks the tension out of otherwise emotional and well-shot scenes.
This is not worth picking up - you’ll have a much better experience just watching the episode again.

Fantastic. If you liked the tv show and loved the finale, well you surely gonna love this one. The adaptation into comic is perfect, with the drawing style and the scenes almost exact to those of the episode. Also, it is a very quick read -I read it on my way to uni- and also very emotional if you are still attached to the characters. I might have wept a little bit on the bus. But you won't hear me admitting it.

this is just the comic book version of the last episode of angel - which was a pretty great last episode. it does lose impact when you haven't just watched the whole season leading up to it. gotta love the name of the episode/title, as a deadhead.

I bought these three older comic books this weekend trying to fill in my buffy comic collection, but I'm not going to go on a comic book bender at the moment, I have my TBR shelf to concentrate on.

So this comic is basically just the series finale told in comic form. It was very fun to read and glad I got to read it but if you’ve seen the episode you know the story.

still bitter this served as the series finale vs us getting a better wrap up (not that I didn’t enjoy parts of it) but hoping after the fall will be good!
