A Real Page Turner

What I loved about this book was all of the action, suspense and steam written within a great storyline. I loved how bad*ss Athena was and the extents she would go to to right the wrong for others. Brass was an all-alpha biker who would protect those he loved. After finally finding Athena after all of their years apart he wanted nothing more than to be a part of her life but there were things that he had to straighten out in her life. I have to say I loved the way he convinced her to really trust him!!

I have loved the Devil’s Riot MC series throughout and this book only added to my addiction to this series. This is a series you don’t want to miss if you love MC romances.

Small world

The author nailed this one. Brass and Athena aka Karma meet years ago in foster care. Now years later they meet again but Athena,as a lot of secrets and Brass is determined to find out each one.
Their journey to happiness comes with danger and compromise. I have a feeling her story is not completely finished.

So disappointed!

Once again the strong female was not aloud to be. Once again she had to be dominated by an overbearing male. The author sets females back to the Stone Age. Also the BDSM scene was totally irresponsible! There were no discussions about limits and/or triggers. Not sure why I continue to read these books. They are too short with an underdeveloped storyline. Not sure I will go back for more, think I’m done with this author.

You are about to be taken on one h#ll of a roller coaster ride with Brass's Surrender (Devil's Riot MC Book 11) by E.C. Land. The story is full of intrigue, suspense, danger, violence and an intense coming together for Brass and Athena aka Karma. The story begins after Karma helped the Devil's Riot MC with their rat problem and has left Treavor. Now she is on to her next assignment regarding the trafficking ring working at a strip club as the men she needs to find frequent this club. She also knows that Treavor is still looking for her so Karma had shed her disguise, goes back to her red hair and uses her real name Athena against warnings from her adoptive father Lucifer and her brother Reaper as her father has done all he can to make sure no one would find out about her family as well as her connection to the Devil's Riot MC.

Now we get a better insight into Karma aka Athena's life, how she was used and abused by her foster family, ends up pregnant and is befriended by Lark/ Lucifer who adopts her and helps raise her and her son Jesse . Under Lucifer's tutelage she becomes a deadly force known as Karma, her kills are lethal and swift taken out criminals as she seeks retribution for the innocent and victims. When she learns that the Devil's Riot MC has just bought the club now named the Devils Nirvana, Karma knows she will need to keep her distance from Brass as she never forgot Jesse who grew up with her in the system until he aged out, but she thinks he abandoned her when she needed him the most. When Brass and Stricker are working at the club all he hears is about this new, sexy dancer. Brass will get the shock of his life when he views the main attraction, a beautiful sexy woman who is enticing every man in the club with her body and movements oozing sex, he calls out her name Thea. Can this be the same shy girl he vowed to protect? Soon both Brass and Athena come face to face, Brass is angry and wants answers and Athena is full of sass and grit telling Brass to leave her alone. When Athena runs out of the club she is attacked by the man from the club who wanted her. As Brass goes to find her he sees she is being choked, he beats her attacker but finds Athena passed out. Now he and his brothers are taking her back to the clubhouse where her brother Reaper is waiting, as all hell is about to breakout as Brass and Reaper go head to head. We finally get to meet Reaper, the King of the Underworld who is the keeper of a mental facility where deadly criminals are sent to be punished as well as the character Lucifer who is feared by all.

Twister now wants answers from Athena but she is reluctant to talk as she is defiant as ever as all she wants to do is leave the club to complete her assignment. As brother and sister argue, Reaper tells them that Athena is known as Karma and that she was the one that helped the club, he also blurts out that she is connected to Stoney and Horse and that she is Croc's daughter. With all the arguing going on between the members with this new revelation about Athena, they also learn that not only is Treavor after her but the Supreme Masters as well. When Lucifer comes to the club house to see his daughter, he has her son Jesse by his side, his stature emits strength and power as his reputation speaks for itself . Now he goes on to explain about Karma/Athena what he did to keep her safe as well as the person she is today. When Brass and Jesse meet , they form an instant connection due to the stories Karma would tell her son about Jesse. The Devil's Riot MC and her family will now join together to help end this threat against her. Brass is more determined than ever not to let Athena go as he pushes her to tell him everything. Once he learns what she endured as well as who fathered her son he is outraged and wants is to make up for the lost time as he feels guilty that he couldn't help her. Now these two will come together with all of the pent up desire that is between them, they begin a relationship that is emotional, intense with plenty of steam as Brass and Athena agree they want and need each other as they look towards the future together and as a family. To stop this threat, the Devil's Riot MC and other club members blow up a warehouse being used for trafficking, they are able to save the women before taking everyone out, but someone is able to get away who will end up causing havoc to the club and Athena.

Can Brass protect this sassy, strong young woman from wanting to do things on her own as trouble is once again headed towards her and the Devil's Riot MC? Love how characters from previous books are mentioned as well as Victoria, Raven and Harlow arriving at the clubhouse as they want to join forces to take down the Supreme Masters as they were trained by Lucifer as lethal assassins. Brass's Surrender is a fast paced story that is intense, violent, emotional and thrilling. The storyline and characters were engaging and dynamic as E.C. Land takes her readers on one hell of a journey. Can't wait for the next book in this outstanding MC series.

3.75stars-BRASS’S SURRENDER is the eleventh instalment in EC Land’s contemporary, adult DEVIL’S RIOT MC dark, erotic, MC romance series. This is Jesse aka Brass, and Athena aka Karma’s story line. BRASS’S SURRENDER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines are revealed where necessary

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Brass and Athena) BRASS’S SURRENDER follows Athena aka Karma as she seeks vengeance against those who harm other people. Athena and Jesse were raised in the foster care system but when Jesse aged out, Athena disappeared, and years later they would come face to face when Jesse discovers Athena working at the MC’s new strip club. All is not as it appears to be when Athena, now known as Karma, refuses to reveal the true nature of what happened years before. Karma is a woman on a mission, an assassin of sorts, who takes down the lowest of the low, and along with her adopted father and brother Lark aka Lucifer, and Reaper, the trio ensure vengeance doesn’t come easy to those who deserve it. What ensues is the quick rebuilding relationship between Athena and Brass, and the potential fall-out as Athena aka Karma must finish the job she set out to do.

The relationship between Brass and Athena is a second chance, of sorts. Jesse was eighteen when he aged out, leaving a then fourteen year old Athena unprotected. On the run, Athena would find a home and a family with Lucifer and Reaper, a family who helped with her need for revenge. Jesse never forgave himself for leaving Athena behind, struggling for years to find the young girl now woman he wanted to save. Athena’s return brings a new hope for our story line hero but Athena does not come alone, her life is a little more complicated than anyone expected. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense, with some scenes of light spanking.

The secondary and supporting characters include many of the previous story line couples including Horse, Tracker, Thorn, Twister and Rage, and their significant others. We are introduced to Lucifer and Reaper, whose need for vengeance is greater than most. The requisite evil has many faces.

BRASS’S SURRENDER is a story of betrayal and vengeance, family and relationships, forgiveness and acceptance. The fast paced premise is gritty and raw; the romance is provocative; the characters are desperate, determined and dynamic.

More MC drama in a quick read by the talented E.C. Land.

I've realised as I'm writing my review I missed book 10 Red's Calm, so I'll have to rectify that soon.

Back to Brass though right now. I don't remember her much from the earlier books in this series and I wish he was maybe in the more or more memorable through them. He was a great character.

For an MC brother, he's quite level-headed for the majority of the book. Don't get me wrong, he's all alpha, possessive, dominant, and bossy are hell. But he's also quite sensible.

His leading lady, Athena, on the other hand, might be a badass herself, smart as hell, and skilled in ways he couldn't even know. But she's a loose cannon and that is when Brass losses his shit.

It was a good addition to the series with the start of a bad guy we hadn't met before (unless I missed him in Red's book of course). He's from Athena's past and she wants her revenge. It's not just about revenge Athena intends to protect those that can't protect themselves.

To get her revenge and reap karma on those who deserve it though, Athena will put herself in harm's way and Brass will not have it.

Athena might have been a sweet, quiet girl when he last knew her but she's had to toughen up a lot since she disappeared from his life. She didn't intend to ever come back into Brass's life. but when her job crossed paths with the clubs and Brass found her, he was never letting her get away again.

"You ran from me," he remarks gravely.
"I told you I would," I whisper, meeting his gaze.
"And now I'll have to teach you the error of your ways."

I recommend this to all MC-loving readers. I know we're not done with this series yet and look forward to what comes next.

Happy Reading.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.

Brass' Surrender has one tough, alpha and a strong, @$$-kicking female. Brass and Athena knew each other as teens, both living in the same scrappy situation. Brass was kid trying to do things the right away and Athena was a young, timid girl. When the situation shifts, they lose each other. When their paths cross again, Brass is not longer young and powerless. He plans to get the woman he lost years ago. She is not longer powerless either. She provides retribution for the powerless now.

This book features a strong, female lead who is headstrong with a take charge attitude. I love her sense of duty to those lacking the power. She has everything she is and believes challenged by Brass. He will stop at nothing to protect her and he has the entire MC (several chapters) behind him. He can be overbearing at times but his heart is in the right place.

The action is straight forward and the romance st€@my. Brass will show her she can trust him and his MC brothers. This book does end happily for now but there are several problems just waiting to make their move on the next book.

If you read Red’s Calm, then you met Athena/Karma at the end. You will see a lot of familiar faces besides the members and their families. We have Lark/Lucifer and Trevor/Reaper/Reap who you know from the mental institution. 😉 Athena knew Brass from years ago and he always protected her when they were in the foster home. He aged out and she ended up running away. He hasn’t seen her since and let’s just say he is shocked when he finds out one of their dancers at the club they bought is her. He has always wondered what happened to her and when he finds out and others find out that she is Karma, they all know the name, just not the face. No one knew about her or Jesse, not even Raven, Victoria or Harlow. Lucifer kept her secret due to her past. The connection between Athena and Brass is still there and becomes stronger. Can she let go of Karma and live her life like she always should have? There are revelations, haunting pasts, secrets, truths, amazing connection, and shocking twists. These two are just amazing together. The connection and attraction they had never went away after all these years and it was great seeing them come together as a family. This is such a fantastic series.

Brass and Athena have known each other since they were young and in the same foster home. When he gets kicked out when he turns 18 he loses track of her. Now years later she shows up at they strip club they just bought. Athena's life has not been easy but she managed to get saved by Lark. He trained her to Karma like the others he trained. When Brass figures out who she is things for them heat up quick, but she is working a job and don't want anyone to know who she really is. When the truth comes out about her past and her son Jesse, Brass wants to help her and save they people she is trying to help. When the plan is set in motion and she hears who wants her things take a turn when he shows up. Will they be able to keep her safe? Will she be able to open herself up after being Karma for so long? Will Brass be able to show her that he wants a life with her and Jesse? Absolutely loved this book. It pulls you and keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's packed full of emotions, action, and so much more. This is an amazing series and I can't wait to read what this author has next.

This book was pretty good... I will admit that I started this series and fell in love instantly. This book and the one before did not track with the first 9 and have caused some confusion as far as the series plot goes, so that's frustrating. I feel like maybe this book interconnects with another series and maybe should be with that series instead... I'm unsure. There are lots of side characters that I feel are mentioned like they should be known and are not from the beginning of this series.

As far as this Book on its own, its good! The plot is good and I love a good reunion story. I hated poor Athena's childhood traumas but boy did girl have one hell of a come back story! Kick ass! Brass doesn't seem to fight his attraction to Athena but it would have been nice to see a little more of their HEA. They had a lot of push and pull and in a way we are left to maybe wonder a little if they will make it for the long haul.

There are a Grammar and editing issues as well as past/present tense jumping but nothing too terrible and overall it was a quick read that I would recommend!

When the DRMC buy a strip club Brass recognises one of the girls as being Thea, he’d had to leave her at the foster home when he’d aged out, she was only 14, he’d tried to get her out of the place through the proper channels because he knew she’d be in danger but was unsuccessful, then she’d disappeared. Athena was taken in by Lark/Lucifer, who, if you are familiar with this author, will know and his son Trevor/Reaper and adopts her, he trains her to become Karma, known for the justice she deals .
It doesn’t stop there with the connections either, but that is part of the story, which gets even more complicated as Athena was sold as a child by her birth mother and the buyer has surfaced wanting to collect.

Nope, not happening or is it?

As is usual with this series I was hooked, loved it and couldn’t put it down.

a little sloppy

We’ve been waiting for awhile to learn more about Lucifer and Reaper with their mental asylum. That being said, this book was way too short for these characters. E. C. Land needs to slow down and add more details to her books. They’re getting shorter and shorter and skipping so much to the point where it’s not really worth the read. Which is sad because she has such a great foundation to work off of. I was disappointed in this particular book because I wanted more from these characters. Athena did not have resolution to the job she’s been on for months. Trevor was never brought up even though she gave pieces of herself to him and struggles in the beginning. The beginning also reappeared itself to where I had to look back because I thought I accidentally flipped to the first page again. I can overlook some mistakes, but this book had a lot. I hope she slows down so we can enjoy these wonderful characters more.

I love that with each new chapter of this series, your getting a deeper look into the different members and the family. They are all loyal to each other an the men are possessive as hell of their women and the women know how to make the men do what they want.
Brass and Karma were in the system as children, but fate had other plans for them. When they meet again later on, they are both guarded with each other. When Karma gets into trouble, its the MC and her adoptive family to the rescue.
The MC and others take out one faction of the Supreme Masters, but not all and then they blow up the building that was holding their trafficking prisoners.
Karma and Brass finally give into their feelings and settle down and the form a solid front to her son and everyone else. Old feelings come back and kick them in the butt.

Book 11 in this series and it is just as powerful as all the others. Loved Brass and Athena and I enjoyed reading about their wild ride to each other. So much happening in this book and all the drama that ensued is only fitting for all these characters and their stories. I loved how all the badass women came out to play and little Miss Athena was able to dish out her own brand of Karma. Athena and Brass knew each other when they were younger but after many years apart they are finally brought together again and nothing is going to stop them from being together especially when Brass stakes his claim on his woman. Could not help but be caught up in all the drama and action and looking forward to reading the next book in this amazing series.

Brass is a member of the DRMC and is watching his brothers settle down. Due to his childhood, he is unsure if he wants the same things as his brothers. Athena is a blast from his past that he thought was lost to him. Athena has suffered in her own way and has stayed hidden from the world, she became Lucifers (Lark's) daughter and Reapers sister (i.e. the psycho that runs the psych facility the MC utilizes - see previous books). Athena is after the organization that is into human trafficking, the same on the MC is after. When their paths cross again, it is explosive between Brass and Athena. This is an action packed book with a ton of steam.

Athena/Karma is determined to take down traffickers, takes a job at the strip club, a few days later it is bought by Devil's Riot MC. She knows she will see him again, Jesse/Brass as he is part of the club. They were in foster care together before he aged out, not long after she disappeared.

Brass has always beat himself up for not being to help Athena, when she shows up on stage at the club. There are more connections at play that he has no idea of but will eventually receive answers.

Brass never planned on having an ol' lady, but Athena brings to home that he has always cared from since she was fourteen. Will Athena let the MC help her finish the job she started?.

I love this book and the series. This book is about Athena/Karma and Brass. They have a past together. One where Brass always protected her. They lost touch and lead separate lives. Then fate brings them back together. Will it be a HEA? Will they have a life together with their extended families or will an old enemy snatch it all away? It was great seeing several characters from earlier in the series and others. This book will keep you on edge and reading as fast as you can to find out what will happen and be revealed next! I read it in one sitting! I was hooked from the start! Never a dull moment! Plenty of danger, secrets, desire, fear, twists and more! Highly recommend! I can not wait to get my hands on the next book!

Brass finally gets his chance at happy forever! Brass and Athena have a history together but unbeknownst to everyone Athena has a history with more than just Brass. I love that she’s a bada$$ in her own right. I do wish that, with her being such a bada$$, that Brass wouldn’t steamroll her into changing her job but I also understand why he did and why she allowed it. I wish more women with steel backbones didn’t roll over when their men dictated it. Other than that I greatly appreciated Athena and what her end goals were.

Athena and Brass were in the same foster home until he aged out and he could no longer protect her which is how she was repeatedly raped he her foster father and turned her into Karma the avenging Angel she is now. When they meet again he is shocked to see her dancing at the strip club that the Devils Riot MC purchased and he was now helping to run. Together with his MC they blowup the warehouse that housed the victims of the human traffickers and she agrees to retire from her dancing and hunting the traffickers.

The main characters, Athena aka Karma and Brass knew each other when they were younger and meet again as adults. Initially, there is some animosity on Athena's part as she feels like Brass abandoned her when he aged out of foster care. Brass went back for her, but she was gone and he had no way to find her. They are both strong characters and despite their mixed feelings for each other they unite for a common cause. I really liked Karma as she could hold her on with the men and best some of them. Hot, sizzling chemistry and a perfect fit for the continuation of the Devil's Riot MC.

Brass and Athena have known each other since they were kids and grew up in the foster care system. Now that they are older she's a single mom working undercover at the strip club to take out the bad guys. Brass is a member of the Devil's Riot MC and now that he has Athena back in his life he's determined to keep her. I loved the way the author brought Brass and Athena back together. These two have been through a lot and getting their happily ever after was the sweetest part. Brass's Surrender is book eleven in the Devil's Riot MC series and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

I absolutely loved Brass and Athena story. They have history. What Brass wasn’t expecting was to see Athena dancing at his Strip club. Athena has always appreciated Brass for all the help he gave her growing up in the system until the day he aged out and got kicked out leaving Athena helpful. Karma believes what goes around comes around and I will do what you do to other worst. Brass takes no for an answer and does what he needs to do to not only protect his brothers but the love of his life. This book is so good from beginning to end. 5 star read, spice 4 1/2 star. Suspense (check), heat (check), love (check), laughter (check). Way to go E.C. Land on another smash hit.

Tangled lives, lost and now cross when Devil's Riot MC buy a strip club. Brass recognises Athena, the girl he loved and protected asxa child when in foster care. Time has passed but not feelings, and things in the past haunt them both. The club learns lot, which is both startling and concerning. Relationships are based on family but history is jot there. Karma is not who they thought she was and hen secrets come out the danger increases. Pushing the limits but cementing the future.

Athena and Brass both grew up in foster care. Brass aged out before Athena and that left her unprotected. After the unthinkable happened to her, she ran away and met up with Lark/Lucifer and Trevor/Reaper. They adopted her into the family and the rest is history. Athena has never forgotten where she came from and she wants to get revenge on those who has done her wrong. She is working as a stripper to catch the eye of traffickers, but a wrench is thrown into her plan when the Devil’s Riot MC buy the club and Brass is a co-owner. Secrets come to light which were better left buried. Will brass be able to accept the new her?

Athena has been working behind the scenes to help out the DRMC with some of their recent problems. Little did she know they would be front and center in her business this time.

Athena is undercover in the strip club the DRMC just bought and it brings Brass back into her life. But there is more to her connection to the DRMC than just her history with Brass.

Athena is every bit the bad*** that Victoria, Harlow, and Raven are. Trevor aka Reaper is more a part of this story and yeah! he will be getting his own book next year!

Wow talk about kick ass alpha female. I love how this series has these women who have come out the other side of trauma to literally kick but against those that do wrong.
Athena has an added connection to the MC that even they don't know about even Brass as he grew up in a home with her.
No one could have imagined the way the fates had played out for these two but Brass wasn't going to allow her to have to hold her own alone anymore.
Brass was the ultimate Knight who rose in and saved his princess. Loved little Jessie he is going to be a fire cracker.

LOVED it!!!!!

Athena and Brass’ story is AWESOME! These 2 were always destined to be together.
More mystery, intrigue and drama in this book that fits perfectly into the Devil’s Riot MC series. I hate to think that this series is nearing its conclusion but it seems that we’re are going to get some storylines wrapped up. I know we’ll be visiting with this group of amazing men and women in the future because the world of EC Land is so intertwined but I’ll be sad that there aren’t any more dedicated books.

I was really looking forward to this book. It started out fantastic. The action scenes are great! What annoyed me to no end was how everyone ran over the top of Thea. AND she let it happen. She talks a good game, no real follow through.
I was super excited to read more about characters from past books that we only heard about. I anxiously look forward to read more about them.
I enjoy most all books by Ms. Land so one not quite what I was expecting is fine by me. I still recommend reading. It is a good story
