Born and raised in Arizona, I guess you'd call me a desert rat. Well, actually, I'd be a desert rat that loves the mountains and lakes. Arizona gives me great pleasure, because if I'm not at the computer writing or buried nose deep in a book you'll find me on a four-wheeler, or a jet ski, or being pulled behind my 26’ Monterey boat on an oblong tube called a ‘hot dog’ laughing my ass off. In fact, my family says I have an unnerving cackle cutting through the waves--similar to a witch!
Yes, that's right this witch has a family... Bill is my wonderful husband of twenty-two years. Tia, Samantha and Ashley are my three beautiful girls and my greatest accomplishments to date. And the light of my life is a devilishly handsome grandson, Dusty.
As writing is a passion with many—it’s an obsession with me. Who knew that the wild things going on in my head someone would actually read? But I'm thankful you do and I hope you find joy and entertainment in my sometimes—okay most of the time—risqué ramblings.
A moving story, hot vamps and hot sex...what's not to love?
Fallon McGregor has only been a vampire for 18 months, but she's learned to live with it. She has only one thing on her mind...revenge. She escaped from the vicious master vampire who forced her to watch him kill her 5-year-old daughter Christy, and then turned Fallon into the living dead. Every night she's haunted by dreams of her daughter and relives the nighmare of her death. She exists only to find the knowledge that will allow her to kill her maker. If she doesn't die in the process, she intends to end her existence and join Christy. That's the promise she made and the promise she intends to keep.
Adrian Trask is a master vampire who seems to collect strays, both human and vampire. He spent his first hundred years mouring his humanity, his second hundred learning to deal with his state, and this last hundred appreciating what he has and trying to help others. He's never felt a pull as strong as the one Fallon effortlessly exerts on him. The longer he's around her, the more he hungers for her. But can Adrian help her overcome her loss and find the will to enjoy the life that's left to her?
I can't imagine losing a child. Ms. McKade's description of the pain and struggle to overcome such a loss was very true-to-life. I wanted some happiness for Fallon...and all the blistering hot sex was great too :)
I liked the book, however I didn't think that the sex scenes were that great and the story was okay. This is my first book from this author and I will continue to try other books.
It was just ok. I'm not a fan of vampires than can do everything under the sun, except going into the sun. I also felt the book could have been a few days longer - they could have been skimmed over (maybe Adrian showing Fallon more vampire training and what not), but I think more days were needed. I also found it somewhat monotonous that that could have sex, get dressed and end up screwing 5 minutes later in deep detail. I'm all for good sex scenes in erotica, BUT I also believe there should be something else going on in between them. To me, it gets old jumping from detailed sex scene to detailed sex scene with out even like eating breakfast and a conversation or something. I liked the story, it could have been done a little better.
Not bad overall. My first vampire-cowboy alpha and he's the sweetest thing. Powerful and hawt...the cowboy essence made it such a fun & different read.
Fallon's on the run from her Master who killed her daughter, forced her into immortallity. With one thing in mind, revenge, but she knew her weaknesses thus the running and hidding until the time was right. Running across Aidan's territory was bad and good. Bad=she brought evilness to Aidan & his people. Good=sighs...too many to list and so worth it...
I love hot-alpha vampires and I love cowboys! who knew I can have the best of both world...just wished it was longer with a bit more depth. Could have been easily 4 stars.
I'm not big on the master slave books, but with vampires I can understand. The writing drew me in right away. Great fast read. I will say that the ending was a quick cut off, but then again how do you really write an ending? Great descriptions, but at times the writing got slightly frantic and was tough to really get a picture of.
Really enjoyed the book. One woman on the run both trying to escape and find a way out. Can she find help before her tormentor finds her and finishes the job? Can't say much else without giving the book away, enjoy a good read.
This is a vampire story--cowboy style. Fallon is running from her "creator" and encounters Adrian (elder vampire) and his clan. The setting is on a ranch in Montana and this was a nice story.
