So basically there's this guy who's definately memorised every bit of The Exorcist and is probably into BDSM and he kills monsters. Oh and he also like doing pottery.
Handsome, successful, and talented, detective Hiroki Dan has it all. Each investigation solved is another good deed to add to his pile of closed cases. However, while his work is fulfilling, there are still times when he becomes frustrated; the police are helpless when vile people are beyond the reach of the law. It is for this very reason that Hiroki takes matters into his own hands.
An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, Hiroki exacts twisted justice on the dredges of society, one "good deed" at a time.
This was the summary provided by MyAnimeList and I certainly got hooked. It was a short read (only 8 chapters) but I love the pacing and how it progresses. If you're a fan of Dexter and gore, then this manga is for you.
Okay so this really lives up to it's name. It's brutal. And very graphic and just super fucked in general wow. It's... alot. But I'm interested? Like I definitely want to read more, but uh, yeah. That was a lot.
I'm interested in Dan, our main character. I feel like we haven't gotten too much of him except that he kills bad people as good deeds and that he's doing those "good deeds" so that he can meet up with his friend in heaven. This volume was more focused on the bad people than him. We only get introduced and see him do his thing twice, but I'd like to know what makes him tick. Hopefully we'll learn more in the next volume.
Many content warnings: suicide, GRAPHIC depictions of violence, rape, murder, child murder just all the things, all around messed up.
There's only one word to describe this; brutal. The premise is interesting but story didn't do much with it and the lack of plot makes me slowly lost ineterest. But if you like the show Dexter, then give this one a read
Dan Hiroki is just like Dexter; if Dexter was an ambiguously gay pretty-boy whose favorite hobby was crafting horrible pottery… and if he was obsessed with The Exorcist movie from 1973 to the point of doing the infamous “spider walk” and spewing coffee from his mouth simply for his own enjoyment. Funnily enough, each “good deed” Dan acts on is inspired by The Exorcist. There’s even one based on the cross masturbation scene, and it’s… brutal. To say the least.
This strangely funny series is carried by the bizarreness and moe of the main character, as well as the sincerity(?) of his motivation to punish those who hurt others (women and kids specifically) to join his ex-lover in Heaven once he dies. Although, the reader wonders whether Dan is actually a vigilante hero or just plain psychopath. Even though he has noble motivations on the surface, he receives a perverse gratification from leading his victims into despair. Each chapter scales the violence and extremity of the last, and no type of “punishment” is off-limits… so have a barf bag handy!
My main complaint would have to be the structural homogeny of each chapter… each part (of which there are three disconnected stories per volume) is wacky and entertaining in its own right, but just like an episode of NCIS, does not amount to any greater story or characters. This didn’t bug me at first, but it becomes tiring the further you read on in the series. You become invested and want something… ANYTHING… to throw a wrench in Dan’s routine and put him to the test. I personally wish Koga would have given Dan an equal but opposite rival to really break his calm demeanor and heighten the stakes of his “good deeds”. By volume four I found myself losing interest due to how repetitive the stories felt, similar to other horror manga like Pumpkin Night and Happy Sugar Life.
Also, this series becomes significantly goofier past the first volume. One notable moment is in volume three where Dan kills a baby-hating misogynist via bungee jumping. It’s so weird and funny.
I won't even give it a rating. I read the first volume, and that's it for me. I am traumatized. I am not saying it's bad; it isn't. It's just too graphic. Too much Dexter (vigilante murdering criminals)

I thought chapter one was already crazy. Then chapter two happened, and so on. If you’re one to enjoy revenge and can handle the extremely dark themes and depictions, you’d probably like this.
¿Llegarán a descubrir a Dan alguna vez?
If I could give it less than one star I would. It was all just rape. And then murder by rape. Very disturbing for no reason? And there was also no story behind it either? So it was just a book full of pointless rape (not that it would be less disturbing if the rape had a point). Really fucking gross.
Based on the description I was thinking it would be like Dexter meets Light Yagami but yeah no, fuck no. Really just no. It was told entirely by the criminals too so the narrative fallowed horrific rapes even though the story is advertised like it’s about the homicide detective. There was no detecting to be found. No cunning problem solving, no traps to catch the criminals. Just torture. Yeah gross.
