"Winners Are Simply Ex-Losers Who Got Mad. They got tired of failure. The Day You Get Angry At Your Failure Is The Day You Start Winning. Winning does not start around you...it begins inside you." (Mike Murdock, The Uncommon Leader)

The Author says that the Master Keys found in this book contain the Wisdom you need to succeed. His prayer is that each page of this book would give you the added edge you need to make your life happier, more fulfilling, and to help you become the Uncommon Leader God created you to be.

There are 31 chapters in this book. Some of them are:

1. Distinguish between what matters most and what matters least.

2. Rise above the stigma of any questionable events of your past.

3. Practice the daily habit of self-talk.

4. Stay in the center of what you love most.

5. Never make important decisions alone...

31. Standardize 7 daily success rituals.

The Author gives many examples of Uncommon Leaders and the things that they did that made them successful. For example, Mary Kay Ash, planned every day with a simple list of 6 things to do. I have personally read her autobiography, Mary Kay: The Success Story of America's Most Dynamic Businesswoman and most of her books. I remember reading her book entitled Mary Kay: You Can Have It All: Lifetime Wisdom from America's Foremost Woman Entrepreneur and in it she talks about writing down 6 things you want to get done every day. She called this her $60,000.00 list. She also encourages her readers to become part of the 5 AM Club. That is, getting up at 5 a.m. every morning to prioritize their day, and to work on their dreams. As a side note, do you know that Harvard University includes Mary Kay Ash's books as texts for their courses? If it good enough for Harvard, it is good enough for you and me!

Another Uncommon Leader the Author mentions is Mark McCormack. He says, "Mark McCormack invests one hour every morning planning their next 23 hours. Think about it! He plans his day for one solid hour before doing anything else." I personally do not plan for 1 hour a day. I plan for about 15 min to 30 minutes a day. 1 hour seems like a lot, but if you are working on planning your dreams and goals, I could see one planning for 1 hour.

There are a few helpful lists in this books on Uncommon Leadership, such as, 14 Wisdom Keys On Developing Your Daily Success Routine, 7 Daily Habits I Have Recognized In The Lives of Uncommon Men And Women, How To Create Your Daily Success Routine...

I'll leave you with one of my favourite lists excerpted from this book:

14 Wisdom Keys on Developing Your Daily Success Routine
1. Men Do Not Decide Their Future, They Decide The Habits That Determine Their Future.

2. What You Do Daily is Deciding What You Are Becoming Permanently.

3. Nothing Will Dominate Your Life Unless It Happens Daily.

4. You Cannot Change Your Life Unless It Happens Daily.

5. You Can Trace The Failure of Every Man To Something He Permitted To Occur Daily In His Life, Body, or His Mind.

6. You Can Trace Uncommon Success To Habits That Were Created...A Daily Success Routine.

7. Your Habits Are Creating Increase or Decrease.

8. Your Habits Are Being Strengthened or Changed By The Friends You Permit Daily Close To You.

9. What You Keep Looking At Is Deciding Where You Will Go.

10. Gaze Only Upon That Which You Desire In Your Future.

11. You Will Always Move Toward The Dominant Picture In Your Mind.

12. You Can Change A Failure Routine Into A Success Routine Within 21 Days.

13. What You Keep Doing Daily Is Creating The Future You Have Always Wanted or The Future You Dread.

14. Your Money Habits Are Making You A Pauper or A Millionaire.

A surprisingly good book, considering the fact that it is a book on leadership from a minister. It is not overly preachy, in fact, it is kind of understated. I enjoyed this book, and the angle it spun on leadership as it relates to the Bible.

Classic Mike Murdock. He's always inspiring, and he loves Jesus! But he's a terrible writer, and this is a Christian self help book 101. Great for anyone needing a pick me up.

Great for business owners!

I liked the chapter that spoke about planning your day. Right down what you will do in a day before you get started.( After spending time with God first of course!)

Great read

This book really helped me understand many areas in my life that need to fall in line with my beliefs. My dreams and passion often fade and return and this helps me understand why.
