While dealing with having to kill a man and losing her teaching position, Katie finds solace at Knowledge Is Power by leading women's group therapy. Secrets and lies are all around her and the one Detective Ben Marcum is keeping may just be the biggest of all. Ben is hiding more than anyone knows, even his best friend and partner Detective Gil Daniels. Will he trust Katie with the truth and his heart? Will their bare confessions stir the fire or blow it out?
Lacey Thorn spends her days in small town Indiana the proud mother of three. When she is not busy with one of them she can be found typing away on her computer keyboard or burying her nose in a good book. Like every woman she knows just how chaotic life can be and how appealing that great escape can look. So toss aside the stress and tension of the never ending to do list.
Loved Ben and Katie's story. Can't wait to read the next installment about Doug, Damon and Cass. I know the series only has 3 books but I hope the author will continue writing because there are many other characters that I want to read their HEA.
The first time I read this book was from it's original publishing. It is one that I vividly remember because it was also one of my first smut (but back then erotica from Ellora's cave) books that I loved. I remember feeling so daring and yet secretive about reading it back then. 😊 But to be fair I was probably just turning 18 or so when I did.
Now maybe I'm nostalgically biased but even after rereading today, I still loved it. The chemistry still sings from the characters, the sex scenes are great and Ben and Katie are still my favorite couple from this series. But as I've said I'm probably biased. Because between this series and the Island Guardians series I became hooked on this author.
*Sleep and coffee deprived rambling review. Sorry but not sorry. 💕
