Incredible insight on a topic that is scarely relevant these days. From threats to inevitable infections, Moore covers every topic there is to know about infectious and contagious diseases.

I enjoyed this book and appreciated that it was more up to date than some of the classics in this subject like Laurie Garrett's _The Coming Plague_. This book has data references through 2005 and discusses the recent developments with bird flu, SARS, prion diseases, and foot and mouth. I also liked that Pete Moore tried to give a somewhat balanced view which includes both what medicine has done right and what has gone wrong.
