Depicted in a spirited chant designed for reading aloud, a favorite aunt travels to exotic, far-flung places and back again into the waiting embrace of her niece, in a board book by a Coretta Scott King Award-winner.
A little girl’s aunt is a world traveler who brings back interesting items for her niece. The story is in rhyme and ends with the girl anticipating an exciting adventure. Lovely bright illustrations.
I have this one memorized now, my two year old wants to read it so much. Encourages geography and cultural exploration. (my aunt came back from timbuktu, she brought me back a wooden shoe)where is timbuktu, and why a wooden shoe?
This was one I thought for sure our son would love, but I completely missed the mark. I'll try it again when he is a bit older... the illustrations are fun and simple, but I think he'll like the book more when he is two or three than he has at one.
A happy multicultural rhyming board book about an aunt who brings back special gifts from her travels. There is obviously great affection between the two so it is no surprise that the aunt passes on her love of traveling to her niece.
Very cute book and my baby girl loves it. I will say though that the copy we have has two Mandalay/red beret pages. I think it was an publication error.
