Oh my, what a fulfilling conclusion to this book! Even though there is a major cliffhanger, it is a really satisfying one. In this volume, all the pieces of the larger puzzle about Makiko fit together. This volume makes it very clear that social networking is terrible. It illustrates how our online actions can come back to haunt us, particularly given how integrated the internet has gotten into our private lives. Yes, I'm very much looking forward to the next chapter.

Oh. My. GOD! What an explosive volume, my jaw is actually on the floor, and I don't even know what to say.
Absolutely top tier drama and suspense writing, I genuinely feel surprised by most of the things happening, especially with the mind games that Makiko and Anzu are constantly playing.
Now onto something that is more in the background of this series, but that I still really enjoy, and have been enjoying for the past couple volumes. The subtle romantic touches. I was kind of surprised to see that make an appearance in this story, but I'm always game for that type of plotline (I am a hopeless romantic after all). At first I was only shipping Shinji and Yuzu (they're clearly smitten with each other), but Kiichi has grown substantially from his earlier appearances, and while the way he behaved in volume 3 is still horrid, I think people can earn forgiveness. And it's very obvious that he's fallen in love with Anzu, and what can I say? I'm such a sucker haha
Yeah so, I'm extremely excited for the next installment. Makiko will probably do something insane, and I can't wait to see what it is.

My god what a satisfying end to this volume! It's a huge cliffhanger, but it's such a satisfying one. All of the pieces of the larger puzzle regarding Makiko come together in this volume. It's also interesting thing how the story shows that documenting your entire life online can come back to bite you in the ass, even fifteen years later! Social media is basically leaving a huge paper trail about your entire life if you let it. This volume really shows how deep of a pit Makiko dug herself into by letting her greed get the better of her.

As much as I hate that arsonist (Makiko), I hold the same opinion as her when it comes to superficial bitches who cant even sacrifice themselves but then be believing they're some bad bitch. At least the arsonist has the brain, guts and iron will to back her up. She might not be a good person, but she's one great example of a calculating antagonist.
Makiko is the embodiment of greed. It takes over her so much that she can’t even breathe right. It consumes not only herself, but her entire life and her children’s.
I feel like both the characters and readers are putting blame only on Makiko when the father is equally or more at fault . He was abusive , toxic and a self centered asshole who didn't hesitate to turn his back on his family.

Goodness gracious what an incredible end to the volume. I usually hate cliffhanger endings but they are used effectively in this series to keep me plowing through each volume. The only reason I stopped when I finished was that I had already stayed up two hours past my bedtime on a work night. The volume was a tell-all about Makiko, picking up where the last volume left off and piecing things together. There is a subplot with a character who was just a side character up to this point that I couldn’t stand, but it was deeply satisfying seeing Makiko show her fangs in this segment. All that aside, this volume has delivered greatly on the romance that I’ve been dying for in this series and I’m eating it up!
Social media is hell and that becomes extremely apparent in this volume. It’s shows how the stuff that we do online can come back to haunt us, especially with how connected the internet has become to our personal lives, it’s just so much more different than it used to be 15 to 20 years ago. I know I’m showing my age a bit having grown up through these massive changes in the online space and it’s given me whiplash, I think about these topics often so it was great to see it covered in this series. The story is setting up Makiko to be the perfect villain in this story, too perfect in fact, and I can easily see it all being one big red herring in the end. It’s the kind of twist that I expect, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want Makiko to be the ultimate villain of this story, she’s just so good at it.
