*If you like engaging characters, heart-wrenching twists and turns, and lots of romance, then you’ll love “Regency Wallflowers”!
Absolutely amazing collection of love stories . I love the characters and their special roles in the are very interesting and inspiring. Even the dubious villain made the story quite interesting and made me want to jump in the story to slap him silly. Lol! I absolutely enjoyed reading this book from beginning to the extended epilogues. It’s definitely a must read. I definitely highly recommend reading this wonderfully put together collection of very interesting and inspiring stories. Excellent writing!
A good collection of Clean Regency stories about young women that have been humiliated and hurt finding love and happiness The characters are realistic and loving They survive many problems and achieve everlasting love Well written stories and each is a standalone A lovely read
OK , I honestly can't remember the last time I didnt finish a book...even if just to find out the ending. BUT, I just couldn't take it any more. So historically inaccurate with the Duke running a shipping business, with no mention of his estates, lands or tenants. Nor is there any mention of his duties in the House of Lords. All that could possibly be overlooked and read as an enjoyable (inaccurate novel) but the author must have taken huge breaks in writing this and completely forgot about time??? The sister's wedding obviously takes place in the morning ( the main characters eating a hurried breakfast to get there in time,) then they mention an afternoon meal, then it has some how transformed into a ball (yes, they actually say it is a ball) with the bride and groom dancing first then greeting guests, then it is back to a wedding breakfast, then the two main characters are dancing together and kiss on the dance floor, then it magically turns into an evening stroll under the stars. All this in the same chapter, same event. This is not the only example. First the couple is together during "St. Nicholas day"....exchanging gifts, having a feast, ice skating, then MONTHS later, the antagonist female who wants to get the Duke shows up during a winter storm and decides she needs to pretend she is sick at least until Christmas.... which is like a week or two away? So bad... did anyone even proof read this????
Arranged marriages were common in Regency England, and love was the exception rather than the rule. Couples who found love within these arrangements were fortunate indeed. This clean historical collection contains three such stories, although the circumstances leading to marriage seem unusual indeed. The characters are sympathetic and I found these Wallflower books quite delightful! Ghost stories, visits to haunted houses, or malicious gossip forcing a Duke to marry the damsel in distress after rescuing her, because the haute ton couldn’t fathom saving a life being a selfless act—not everyday situations but they make intriguing stories.
ONLY a few chapters in… …. SPOILER . . . SPOILER . . . SPOILER . . . SPOILER . . . .
He saves her, she was not breathing she friggin DROWNED not almost but did. He saved her life, a duke, offers for her hand when he realizes there’s no other way about it and she is pouting. Spoilt little…bleeper. I can’t handle. It’s ridiculous. If she died, she would have no life to be moody that he is interrupting her plans. I’m out. I can’t read this female character.
This was an excellent box set filled with great stories and exciting plot twists. All three books were stand alone and no cliffhangers. Wonderfully entertaining reads.
The second was a little farfetched but fun. The last was my favorite. Recommended for all readers. Well written, interesting plots, and brought on many different feelings.
