I live in Glasgow, and my book is set in this amazing city, which has a beating heart all of its own.

I first started writing stories when I was a child and they were full of witches, wizards and magic animals. These days I am more fascinated by the real world, particularly people and relationships. I love writing romance stories!

I'm really passionate about creating writing that reflects the diverse society that Britain is today, and in my first book, Something Like Happy, I've tried to reflect the diverse range of characters that you can find in Glasgow. I hope you enjoy it! I'd love to hear what you think of it.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book for an honest review.

A quick read that I mostly enjoyed. The only thing I didn't like was some of the scenes with Nadeem following Jenny's disclosures (no spoilers!!)

I devoured Trust. It’s an endearing book that I received from @literallypr and the author Sasha Greene in exchange for an honest review. Thank you both so much.

This story is about a woman, Jennifer, who loses her job because she blew the whistle on a colleague that was sexually harassing her. She was traumatised by both the attack and the loss of her job. Feeling a bit lost, she decided to take some time away from home to gather her wits and her thoughts. Little did she know that she would meet Nadeem who would test her ability to trust another man. Will Jennifer overcome all that is holding her back in her career and her love life?

I enjoyed the writing style. I read through the book quickly. It was the perfect book to read in bed on a cold rainy day. The writing flowed, it described and it pulled the heartstrings. How could you not feel for the wonderful Jennifer and the kind Nadeem? Meaning, that the character development was great too.

The setting, Scotland, was perfect. I want to visit there even more than I did before I read Trust. There were a few settings that I envisioned; the writing was so descriptive it was like I could see the same view the characters were seeing. The locations sounded absolutely stunning and I will be super disappointed if they do not exist in the real world.

The plot was engaging. Although, I was a bit confused on the harassment aspect. I won’t get into it right now as I don’t want to share any spoilers, but for me, something did not sit right. However, this confusion did not detract from my enjoyment of the story.

Eventhough the book covered themes of mental health, PTSD and sexual harassment, these themes did not outway the plot. The traumatic events were a part of the character’s story. Trust is not about mental health, PTSD or sexual harassment but rather how the characters dealt with their challenging circumstances and rose above them - which is a nice way to present these uncomfortable topics. Very uplifting.

I had not read Sasha’s work before but I have learnt that this is her second book so now I am keen to read the first one. I highly recommend this lighthearted, but deep read.

Oh my goodness this book wow I loved it so much from the start where Sasha built up the most beautiful pictures in your hear to finish where I genuinely could have cried (I think I went though every emotion while reading this book) I loved the relationships between all of the characters and the way you could tell how much Nadeem and Jennifer loved each other.
There was nothing about this book that I didn't love! And I don't want to go deep into a review and ruin this special book for everyone else!
It was the first book I've read in a while that genuinely made my heart sink! I now think Sasha Green is of my favourite authors! I've heard she's written another book so I'll have to find that now!

A fantastic second novel from @sashagreeneauthor

Having read 'Trust' and Sasha's first novel 'Something Like Happy', I just love how she tackles really difficult issues in such a thoughtful and sensitive way. This is one way to ensure these topics are spoken about more openly.

Trust focuses on Jenny, who has just lost her job and is heading to the Scottish Highlands for some time away from London. It is soon established that she lost her job for speaking up against unwanted advances from her boss, the after effects of this assault impacting her hugely, understandably.

Jenny meets Nadeem, an ex army medic and their relationship develops. Their love story draws you in immediately, their openness and honesty with each other upfront is quite startling and let's the reader in on their personal pain. At the half way point of the novel there is a key plot point, which I had seen coming however there were plenty of unexpected reactions to the situations in the second half of the novel.

The focus on PTSD is managed very sensitively. The emotional and physical reactions from flashbacks and triggers are really well described and I think it was important to have the contrast between someone dealing with their war experience versus someone dealing with an experience in their normal office work life. PTSD is often associated to war but people suffer with it from a variety of different experiences, it is a very personal struggle.

I found myself thinking 'what would I do here?' in Jenny's situation. Her strength and resilience shine through and I think the ending will be viewed differently by readers, again a very personal decision.

Highly recommend this and look forward to more from Sasha Greene.

I LOVED this! Having read and adored "Something Like Happy", I was apprehensive. Would this live up to my expectations? Absolutely it did! Sasha explored relationships beautifully. Who would you trust, your lifelong best friend or the beautiful woman you've just fallen in love with?
As ever, Sasha tackles difficult situations delicately but effectively.
Can't wait for more.
