Knot a Clue

Rate this book
After finding out I’m the only omega to emerge in this season's ceremony, I’m whisked away to a hidden resort nestled in the mountains.

What might sound like a nice vacation is anything but. I’m here with twenty hand-selected alphas who are competing for a spot in my pack on live television.

The downside? The public chooses who stays and who goes.

Even worse? Someone is murdered.

Everyone is suspect, aside from the dashing doctor, and the rugged twin contestants who are with me when I find the body.

Can we solve this mystery before the killer strikes again? And more importantly, can I do it without falling for the men I may not be able to keep?

I loved the premise of this book, but sadly found that the pacing and anticlimactic reveal of the murderer didn't quite work for me. I liked the guys and their scents made my sweet tooth ache with longing. The writing was overall good, with some punny omegaverse-isms.

There were several parts that didn't work for me. In a book marketed as a murder mystery, I go in expecting someone to 💀 fairly soon in the book. To go over halfway into a 500 page book and still having everyone alive felt dragging to me, and made me frustrated. The first 50% dragged, and the reveal and resolution felt anticlimactic. Another review called it a "Scooby-Doo reveal" and I'm inclined to agree.

I also struggled with the world building. In a society where all omegas are given no choice in who their packs are, I expect the heroine to have some backbone and fire to fight against this kind of oppression. Apart from the first few chapters where she tries to escape this destiny, I found the heroine annoyingly passive. Why would any omega go along with this? Why does everyone in society roll with it? Is it otherwise a very restrictive and oppressive society? Now, I don't need my Omegaverse books to be overly political, but some world building is necessary for me to understand the main characters motivations. Also, the size of the population makes no sense. Is this a very, very, very small country? A single town with their own governing body? So many questions and plot holes.

I was left feeling disappointed. The relationships and the romance is the strength in this book, but there were too many things I found lacking for me to be able to rate this very highly.

I was kindly given a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Lots of plot holes, major under reactions to murders happening around you, add in a scooby doo villian and the word “not” spelled like “knot” every time-this was saved by the cute low stakes romance.

a disappointing romance.

I was so excited to read this new RH Omegaverse romance! A mystery and RH Omegaverse! I love romantic suspense and I have never read an RH Omegaverse mystery! I downloaded it through KU the morning of release day and dived in. Unfortunately, the execution of this novel was poor all around. *SPOILERS AHEAD* The world building was…well, there wasn’t any. I cannot believe that the average number of omegas to reveal per year on this entire planet is around 7. In most Omegaverse RH, 10% of the population are Omegas, 30% are Alphas, and 60% are betas. That would mean that the the population of 21 year olds revealing on this world would only be 70 people. Is this Bachelorette show put on by an independently governed small village? A country that has a vanishingly small population? A dying world where humans are going extinct? The author never supplies the reader with any explanation, so I have no idea. That is just one of the many inconsistencies in the world building. The plot…does this village have no homicide detectives they can fly in to investigate these crimes? No? And this reality television crew don’t seem at all worried by the prospect of criminal charges for covering up m**ders and CONTINUING TO FILM a TV show on the scene where a serial ki**er has m**dered several people! Those are just two of the MANY plot holes someone could drive a semi through. Which brings us to the characterization. The heroes all had consistent character arcs, so no complaints there. The heroine, on the other hand…the opening scene of this novel is the heroine fleeing from her home so that she isn’t forced to go on TV and be forced to marry people she doesn’t want to. Therefore, I expect this character to be a fighter and try to change the world for future omegas. However, instead, she smiles, bites her tongue, and does everything these authority figures tell her to do without any kind of resistance whatsoever. It is like she gets a personality transplant after the first chapter. Very inconsistent characterization there. The romantic relationship development is the one area of this novel that had no major problems. It was hot, sweet, and swoony. *END SPOILERS* I would give the world building detail and consistency a one star rating. The plot consistency and believability I would give a two star rating. The characterization consistency for the guys would be four stars, for the heroine three stars. The romantic relationship development is the best part of this novel. I would give it a rating of four stars. I think this novel has a generous three star all around rating, and I suggest that the author invest in a good developmental editor in future.

What a fun and different type of book to read. I love everything Omegaverse but throw in a reality show and a game of ‘who did it?’ Then you get this fabulous story.

I love the writing style of Leah but had never read Demi before, however after reading this book I’m definitely going to have to go and read her books too. The both of them writing this story was a match made in Paradise 😋

I really enjoyed the story line, it kept you on your toes throughout thinking about everything that’s going on in the background as well as the main parts of the plot. I was hooked on the story and honestly couldn’t put it down (only going on holiday did I stop before the last few chapters and now been able to finish it 🙈)

I love the timeline of events, how all the characters come together in this wonderful pack of personalities 🖤 I could read more of this group…..

The spice was seriously hot 🥵 but what else do you expect when you have an Omega surrounded by sinful alphas and a beta 😍 I enjoyed reading how the spice evolved throughout. All of them with there wicked dirty talk 😉

The ending was fab and brought everything together but leaving room for much more 🖤

Knot a Clue is a standalone within the Heat paradise series...and it's such a good one!!

Think if The Bachelorette and Clue had a baby...but Omegaverse. I wasn't sure what to expect, but Leah Steele AND Demi Warrik, what can go wrong? Nothing, absolutely nothing but an excellent steamy story, that will have you guessing and at the edge of your seat, UNTIL THE VERY END!! Can't wait until the second book!

This book was a weird one.

The idea is sort of fun; a reality tv show where the omega dates a bunch of people to build her pack? Sounds sort of interesting.

BUT, it's so dystopian in execution that it would be much better fitted for a dark omegaverse. Our omega is FORCED to go on this show, and has no other option. She also doesn't get to pick her pack, but the audience watching the show gets to vote on the men. This means that, by the end of the show, she could potentially be paired with alphas who she would NEVER choose for herself. It's also insinuated or blatantly said multiple times in the book that our FMC needs to be extremely careful about how she portrays herself, because she needs the viewers at home to like her so they pair her with good alphas...
Like... They make it out to be sort of crazy in this book and it's surrounded by this air of levity that shouldn't be there, because it's really sort of f*cked up.

The addition of throwing in the murder mystery was sort of fun, but just seemed to lack some oomph that we would have needed.

This book also has a few plot holes and loosely threaded in concepts that aren't followed through properly.

The FMC was cute with her chosen pack and their relationships were adorable as they progressed, but it wasn't enough to save this book.

Reread 8/5/24: I'm lowering my rating from 4 to 3 stars. I was new to OV when I read this the first time. Now I'm a seasoned OV reader and felt the overall vibe wasn't cohesive and the world-building was incomplete. I do still think this was fun and worth the read. If you want more plot outside of the relationship then this may work for you.

Original review: This was super fun and sweet! I loved the combination of the reality TV show with a murder mystery plot. The characterization wasn't super deep, but I did get to know everyone and they had their own personalities. I liked the protectiveness and cooperation between all the MMCs. Their first priority was always Verity's comfort and safety. The spice was pretty good and sprinkled throughout the book. Every guy got their own special time and moment with Verity. I will absolutely be reading more books from in this series!

This felt like a lighter, and slightly sweeter, version of Grace McGinty's Tyrst in the Dark. Both feature an Omega that is assigned her Alphas and some an external drama plot.

I loved the idea of this book!

I do wish the murder happened early on though and then she and her alphas could’ve formed relationships while solving the case together.

I loved the twins and her bff but felt like Kyle and the doctor could’ve used a bit more time with her.

Heat Paradise where the Bachelorette meets Clue.

A who dunnit mystery is a guilty pleasure and with a cover and blurb like that I knew I had to read this book.

Verity never asked to be an omega, but all signs point to that designation. When she ends up becoming the only omega on the live dating show Heat Paradise, things go from resigned to interesting.

The twins are polar opposites and Verity can’t help but gravitate to them. The doctor draws her in from the beginning, a forbidden attraction. The shy alpha may seem to fade into the background but he’s a master chef….in the kitchen 😉. And her BFF has been by her side through it all, but can this Beta stay there?

However, not all is as it seems because behind the scenes lies a killer. One waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike in the dining room with the revolver….

I can’t tell you how much I LOVED this book! The chemistry was off the charts. Verity and her mates are a scent match made in sweets heaven. All the men give something unique to the relationship dynamic. But I have to say the twins and Ryland pull ahead as my personal favorites.

I loved the dating show aspect of it, and the fact there’s no OW drama. Throw in the Clue aspect of it and I was hooked, line, and sinker. I dove head first into this story and I applaud the authors for seamlessly creating a dating show murder mystery.

One glance at her parted lips wipes all thoughts of doing the right thing out of my mind. I can't do it. I can't give her up. I'll keep testing these boundaries until one of us crosses them. And when that happens, there won't be any going back.

"Knot a Clue" is an amazing contemporary omegaverse standalone, with a bachelorette-type tv show and a reluctant omega who's supposed to find her pack while viewers vote who she'll end up with. After reading "Knot My Reality", I became fully invested in omegaverse dating shows; they are so much better than the classic bachelorette tv show! On top of that, Knot a Clue also has a "who-dunnit" mystery trope, with Verity and the men she chooses herself looking for the culprit.

Honestly; this book would have been awesome even without the Clue-trope. It was a nice little extra and something original to solidify the bonds between Verity and her men, but it's not the essence of this book for me. I really loved Verity, and how reluctant she was to join the tv show that would determin her pack. Her first meet-up with Andrik and Jedrik was "chefs-kiss" and after that I honestly couldn't stop reading. The way her men are only drawn to her, how protective they are while still being supportive of her independence, how lovely and strong Verity behaves towards them and everyone around her, ... It was written masterfully and I couldn't get enough!

With this being a standalone, I really hope these authors will band together again to write a second standalone within this world. And if that happens, I vote for a mate and a pack for the illusive Desmond ;-).

Bachelorette meets clue! This book was fabulous. The premise is unique, I have read omegaverse books before but never one like this. The omegas are made to star in a reality show to find their packs. The omegas go on group dates and have competitions for the contestants to show their alpha qualities. I really loved getting to know the main character, Verity. She grew to accept herself and her omega status throughout the book. She was strong willed and had no problem standing up for herself when it was needed but she also wasn’t afraid to show her softer side, especially around her alphas. I loved that there were different perspectives in the book. It allowed me to get to know Verity’s alphas. These chapters let you see just how much they care for Verity and understand their different personalities. Honestly, this book would have been five stars without the murder mystery, but the murder mystery made it that much more interesting. The murder added some more tension to the book and allowed the alphas involved to prove their worth. I thought I had the murderer figured out… several times. I kept changing my mind with each new clue. I was very surprised by the murderer and the scene in which they were caught. The story moved at an excellent pace, the world building was amazing, and there were just enough steamy scenes in the book to move the plot along but not too many to take away from it. I can not wait to read the next book in this world! I would highly recommend this book.

DNF.

I am so disappointed. I had been checking the release date on this book and could not wait to read it. And it just fell flat for me. I loved the concept, mystery, omega verse, omega who does not want to be an omega. But then she instantly is falling all over the alphas left right and center. It is like all the reasons she ran away fled and she is left with lust and no sense.

Maybe I will return to this book but for right now it is sadly going to be a no from me dawg.

Of course, it's not perfect. But I loved it nonetheless. It's along the line like many other OV books, though, it has its own twist. Here it has a hunger games vibe, betas (as usual the most of the population)/society deciding with whom the omegas end up with and a murder mystery in the mix. That's something I haven't read in that way, or at least not to that extent.

There were a few things, I had to question. Like I said, it's not perfect. So, the world building is a little hazy in that regard, that we don't get to know much about it. For example, why are there only so few omegas each year? What population we are talking about? Is it a small country? Are there reasons, why the omegas aren't allowed to choose for themselves or why a relationship with an omega and beta is forbidden, but then they are allowed to be part of a pack? I mean, it was said for breeding purposes to guarantee an omega offspring, but when a beta can be part of a pack and then the relationship is allowed, wouldn't it defeat the purpose? Or is it pushed aside, because it's a rare occasion? But considering there are so few omegas, I wouldn't believe that. And what about the everyday life?

Other things were just confusing or illogical. I mean, she has parents, right? But we don't see anything. The only thing we get to know is, that they are probably worried sick about Verity, and that her Mom is an omega herself. Verity says she has homesickness, but even in the end, we never see her calling her parents or hear about their reaction about her mates. That was strange. Otherwise, I can't believe she is the first omega that rebelled about being carted off to a TV show and let the society choose her mates. And that there is no regard to an omega's instincts, like scents sensitivity (you would think, they would let the omega get a whiff beforehand to guarantee some chemistry?). Or if the guys they invite into the show are a good choice. It doesn't seem like they were vetted much. It was indicated, that it is about wealth and good-looking, which guarantees them an invitation and only some lottery for the “normal” alphas, who don't come from money, but so that they get a chance too.

So, it's a little unclear on that front.

I liked the murder mystery part, though I'm good at predicting outcomes. And I was right about it from the start. Also, I had a different reason in mind. But that is, because no one mentioned that connection to the mansion. Otherwise, it was quite obvious to me, because it is often a character, that isn't that involved in the story, but mentioned and in the background. That's where the cliché comes from, with butlers and gardeners being the murderers. They are there, but not seen or involved in the general.

And the clues, they find, all hinted to characters that were involved, but partly they aren't able to do it. It was said, the killer needed strength to kill the victims. Adrenaline only helps so much to explain. Though I don't know why the killer placed the clues in the first place if his big plan was to reveal himself anyway. It doesn't sum up to me. But that's okay.

The change with Verity choosing her mates came abrupt, and I didn't expect it that way. I had different ideas during the reading. Not that this solution was bad, but considering we already heard about Desmond Abernathy in the beginning and his plans, I had thought the change would come with the second book. Which it kinda does. But it was a beautiful idea with the Knotting Ceremony. So, it is really a sweet ending.

I'm interested to see, how the second book will work out.

"...Utter Knotsense"

Meet Verity Graves. Running from her future, she never expected to be this years only Omega in the Designation Ceremony that literally offers her up on a silver platter to hungry Alphas. She is to meet her mates on live television and have the viewers decide who is to be her best match, weather she likes them or not.

Hidden Haven Manor is not the glitz and glam everyone thinks it is. Verity is forced into this with absolute dread. Unexpectedly, certain Alphas catch her attention immediately and make things a bit more bearable. When she is allowed to take her best friend along for the ride for support, Ryland is another unexpected surprise as things finally progress to the next level in their relationship.

When Verity is close to finding her pack, she realizes the hell she is in that the viewers watching are the ones deciding her fate. With hidden doorways and cameras watching her every move, every moment she can get with the ones she wants is worth fighting for.

"All good things are worth fighting for."

Suddenly - murders are happening, fingers are pointed and everyone is a suspect. Could it be the sleazeball cameraman? The world renowned chef? Maybe the friendly stylist that sparkles all over? Or even an angry Alpha contender feeling out of the loop? ...The list goes on and Verity, along with her guys, Ryland, Emmett, Kyle, Andrik and Jedrik are determined to keep each other safe and find out who our murderer is!

When the killer comes forward, the entirety of the production is left unknown. Will Verity get the pack she truly wants at the end or will she be forced to start from scratch and give the people what they want?

"The room smells like the sweetest alpha pie. I think I'm pie drunk. Alpha pie for life."

Oh. My. Goodness! This book was EVERYTHING!!!!!! I couldn't put it down and that's definitely not ok when you need to wake up early the next morning!! I was sucked in from the first chapter and loved every page. The story line was almost like Hunger Games, meets The Bachelor, meets Clue and I was totally here for it. The characters and their chemistry was off the charts sizzling and I needed more. Verity was amazing and I loved how the authors incorporated such storylines altogether to build this magnificent work of literary art! I laughed, and I swooned and I definitely had to fan myself a few times! I loved everything about this book. I hope they decide to continue on in this world. It was great!!!

I was fully prepared to give this book 5 stars, until the big reveal.

What a letdown!

It’s not that who did it was obvious, the authors give you clues to point to just about everyone, but it was the execution of the reveal.

Verity is about to reveal as an omega and the way it’s done is everyone who comes of age has to go on live tv and drink from a goblet and have their designation revealed. She’s pretty sure she’s going to be an omega and when she reveals as the only one for the season, it means some trouble.

They make omegas go on a tv show similar to the bachelor/ette where they are paired with 20 alphas and have to get to know each other.

We have her beta best friend Ryland who only gets to come and be a part of the show because Verity was the only omega and they wanted her to have a companion since she wouldn’t have other omegas to talk to (omega/beta relationships are strictly forbidden unless they’re welcomed to the pact by the alphas) These 2 have been best friends their entire lives and have never acted on their feelings for each other.
Then we have 2 enforcer twins Jedrik and Andrik who were on the show 10 years ago but lost and now this is their redemption season.
Then we have hot Dr Emmett who is the show Doctor. (I’ll take inappropriate bedside manor for 1000 Alex) but seriously, he’s so sweet! And I want a hot on call doctor that smells like chocolate.
And lastly Kyle who is an alpha on the show. He comes out of nowhere and surprises everyone.

Obviously there’s other alphas but we don’t care about them.

Verity doesn’t get a say in who stays or goes because the home viewers decide her fate based on the show, which is seriously ridiculous.

But then, murders start to happen. But the show must go on!

Overall, I really enjoyed the book, but the anticlimactic reveal kinda ruined it for me. The spice was spicy, the steam was steamy, and the alphas were protective and growly.

Bachelorette meets M Mystery/Clue

Verity is revealing as an Omega and try’s to escape because who wants others to pick there pack. She is sent to Hidden Haven Manor for the Heat Paradise. Where who her pack ends up being is voted on. When one of the Alpha ends up murd ered everyone becomes a suspect except who was with her at the time.

Five plus ⭐️’s for the Knot A Clue with a chefs 😘. It is a bachelorette meets mur der mystery/clue! Starting with that cover, it is 😍. Now let’s talk about Verity- she was a feisty, strong, knows what she wants and sassy female. The guys *sigh*🥵😍. They are all pretty amazing but let’s be honest everyone loves the bad boy. How about the best friend.. Being able to finish your thoughts and knowing you so well. The twin sandwich, I would love being between some of that 😋. And I love a man who can cook there is something sexy about that alone. And the chocolate smelling sexy alpha doctor. The smells for this pack made me so 🤤!!

“I want to bottle his cinnamon spice and shake it all over me, coating myself like a mini donut.”

Honestly I really enjoyed Knot A Clue and would definitely recommend. With the twist and different take from the normal read with Omegas. It was a well written co write between Demi and Leah. It is a lengthy book but really I was so into the story that it didn’t really feel long. You got the chance to really get to know everyone. As well as the mystery and searching for the clues of who committed the crime. The chemistry between her and the pack was hot with the buildup feeling like being edged before the explosion. I loved that it was only about her so no MM (not that I mind that but sometimes a girl just wants all the care). The guessing on who did the ki^^ing and some of the clues you got kept me guessing, sometimes I thought I knew and other times not so sure. However the outcome of the ki^^er is not what I expected. But it all sets up beautifully for the next in the series that I am very excited for. I hope 🤞 it includes Desmond 💜💜. I did read this an ARC and is my honest review.

Whether you’re an avid reader of OV or a newbie and want an interesting story?! This is it! It’s a standalone story all about Verity who revealed as an omega and is not thrilled that she doesn’t get to select her own pack.

You see, she is sent to Hidden Haven Manor, where people will vote on who is in her pack. This was one twist, it’s kind of like the bachelorette, but when an Alpha gets…. GONE in the bad way, everyone becomes a suspect except who was with her at the time.

So the fun part about this book was honestly the fact that it felt like two things were going on at once. We had the “show” of who will end up being her pack and the issue of the “gone” alpha. Verity is a great FMC, she knows what she wants, she’s sassy, and strong. Her pack?! UGH, between the bestie that can finish her thoughts and just knows her. Plus the other amazing guys, I don’t want to give too much away.

Even though this is a thick book, it doesn’t drag on, like I said with two “main” points of the book, you don’t want to put it down. You want to find out who did it, and you want to see what happens with her final pack.

I really thought this story was literally everything the authors set it out to be. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series, it’s going to be amazing I know it!

Leah Steele and Demi Warrik are an amazing writing duo! I loved what they did with Knot a Clue and couldn't even tell what parts of the story were written by who, they flowed so well together. The Clue meets Bachelorette vibes this gave off made the story so fun to follow along with! I loved the mystery of it all as we followed along with Verity as she and her guys had to not only figure out the murderer, but also find a way to be together despite the show's rules. Thriller and a love story!

You see in a lot of omegaverse books the idea of profiting off of an omega or omegas being sold, but this book took a whole other take on the control over an omega's life and the pack she would have for the rest of her life. A dating game show was an interesting idea for sure, having viewers vote and dictate who the omega will be with in the end. Fair? Not at all, especially when the omega really has no say in it. But I will say it gives them a bit more freedom than just being bought for breeding like in other books. However, scent matches were still a thing, although maybe not as common, and it was exciting to see who would be one of the alphas that Verity was drawn to and which ones were unappealing to her. The question of whether Verity would be able to be with her alphas in the end or be voted to be with others had me on the edge of my seat. Absolutely loved this story.

An Absolutely Phenomenal Book My Two Amazing Authors!! ❤️❤️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review

Demi and Leah are two of my favorite authors individually, so put them together as co-writers and OMG instant phenomenal story. I knew this book was going to be one I’d have to read the moment I heard these two were writing together. These two never disappoint when they write and They did an absolutely fantastic job writing this Bachelorette style Omegaverse Murder Mystery.

This is Verity’s story and it’s an intense one from the get go. She’s the only Omega to emerge for this seasons ceremony so she’s instantly whisked away to a hidden resort where the public will pick who stays and goes between twenty hand picked alphas competing for a spot in her pack. So when someone gets murdered everyone becomes a suspect and the adventure truly begins.

This is a book I seriously highly recommend everyone reads. It is absolutely phenomenal. It will keep you on the edge of your seat desperately wanting to know who done it, and wanting to know what happens next. The chemistry between Verity and her guys are perfection. Ending leaves us leading up to the next book in series and I’m going to be anxiously waiting for the next. These two authors are freaking phenomenal so to me their books will always be highly recommended so definitely one-click this book and read it today. You won’t regret it.

I'd give this book about a 4.5. I'm a huge fan of Clue so I knew I needed to read this. Understanding the basis of this world though and understanding the reality show omegas and alphas have to go on just to have the rest of the world choose who they should end up with? Absolutely terrifying. There are some questions that did not end up being answered. They also don't seem like they'll come up in future books either. Unlike other mystery books, there were no clues that you could connect as a reader to make a factual jump to the killer. If you know a thing or two about Clue, it is easy to know who is the culprit is however. My biggest aggravation in the writing styles was the overuse of the word "coo(s)". If it had been used once or maybe twice, still weird to me but fine. When you have a bunch of hulking alphas "cooing" at various times, it does not give the right impact for those characters. If you enjoy omegaverse, you will enjoy this book. I look forward to the next. I just hope lessons have been learned from this first book and there will be a few less holes in the next one.

Oh this book was such a fun read! I loved how this story developed from Verity running away from her destiny to finding her HEA! After a surprising start to her designation ceremony where you can already see hints of a fated attraction, Verity heads off to Hidden Haven Manor see which of the 20 alphas will be selected for her. As she meets more of the alphas, and gets to know them, she has her favourites that fate have drawn her to, but then things start to go wrong when alphas start turning up dead. Who is the murderer? Who will be next? This book reads like a good old game of Cluedo! The alphas that Verity is attracted to all band together to help solve the mystery and keep her safe, and it all ends with a HEA. I loved how the relationships built up an developed in this story, and there were lots of little things that made me chuckle. There was plenty of heat and spice that built up as the story developed. A great read, and I can't wait to find out what happens on the next season of Heat Paradise.

I love a well written Omegaverse story. Throw in a mystery and that makes my day. This story jumps right into it, following Verity Graves, the reluctant Omega. Determined to avoid her fate as an Omega, the author reveals a world in which Omegas have little control over their lives, including their Alphas. Forced into a dating type show where others pair you with your forever pack, Verity's strong willed spirit shines.
I love that this story doesn't have the typical stereotype of a weak Omega. Rather the authors outline her strength at pushing the limits even when she is forced to submit. Pair her personality with some really hot alphas, dead bodies and a game show and I was hooked. This story has a great plot, some really memorable characters, steamy scenes and a good mystery. I truly enjoyed the story and look forward to future collaborations from these authors.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love everything Omegaverse but this was a bit different than the normal omegaverse with the reality show and the mystery. Then you get this fabulous story, while some parts lack over all the gist of it was enjoyable!

I love Demi and her work and just recently started on Leah’s collections of books, so I was beyond excited to see this in my KU.
The story line did keep me guessing throughout. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that tidbits that were going on behind the main parts of the plot is what did it. I was hooked on the story, thought there was something missing and I’m not sure what!

The spice was right up Demi and Leah’s alley and it was a damn LAVA PIT. I mean I really expected nothing else especially with Demi and Leah writing this and it being RH 🔥🔥 I’m not much for dirty talk in some books, but this one was tastefully done!

All together it’s worth the read and I can’t wait to see what other standalones come with this series!

Omegaverse meets Bachelor meets Clue

Knot a Clue is delightfully unserious. The storyline alone is enough to make a good book. It’s a world where omegas don’t get to choose their pack, but have to accept a pack chosen for them by the public on a reality show. Only on this season someone is murdering the contestants. That plot alone would be a good read, but that plot isn’t necessarily campy or lighthearted. Leah Steele decided to make sure you never took the book too seriously by poking fun at cult favorites The Bachelorette and Clue. You were always aware that this wasn’t just a random reality show. It was essentially The Bachelorette, complete with knot tying ceremonies instead of rose ceremonies. And we didn’t just have a murder mystery. We had a game of Clue, including characters like Ms Violet and Mr Emerald.

Overall, a really fun light read.

Fun read with some flaws

I mostly enjoyed reading this book. It was lighthearted and I liked the relationships.

Pros:

Good job following Clue
The game show mechanics were believable
The FMC and alphas were great!
The location was well thought out.

Cons:
The premise of the game show was not believable.
The way the game show ended was not believable.
I could tell there were two writers. Their styles were different enough to feel jarring at some points.
Some of the details were slightly off.
The FMC only fought her designation through the first chapter. She could have done a lot more to fight the system. It felt like the first chapter was disconnected from the book.
The relationship with her best friend worked, but allowing the relationship to continue in the way it was allowed was also not believable. I think there were better more plausible ways to include him that didn’t compromise the rules as much.

Knot A Clue: Heat Paradise Murder Mystery Omegaverse is co-written by Leah Steele and Demi Warrik.

💜 sassy FMC
💜 alpha, omega, beta
💜 why choose
💜 murder mystery
💜 televised dating show
💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶 spicy spice

Verity just knows she will end up presenting as an omega, all of the signs are there. That’s why she decided camping in the woods and hiding was the way to go. That way, she won’t be forced to go to the ceremony that pushes the presentation forward. What happens when her plans to hide don’t work? Will she present as an omega and have to go to Heat Paradise? Will she e be able to fall for the alphas presented to her there?

This was a fun take on an omegaverse. It’s presented as a bachelor/ bachelorette style alpha and omega dating show. Throw in some myrder mystery in the middle of it, and you have a wonderfully entertaining story that keeps you on your toes. There’s potential for another book to come out and I can’t wait to see what that one will bring.

Excellent!!!
What a brilliant storyline and definitely original!!
From the beginning it grabbed my attention and kept it!
Omegaverse meet clue and the bachelorette vibes. The whole m$urd3r mystery within the story added suspense and excitement! I couldn't read each page fast enough, hoping to find out who the suspect was.
There was also, humor, action, angst, steam and so much more. The spicy scenes were so good!
I loved Verity! She is sweet and kind.
Andrik, Jedrik, Emmett, and Kyle are the perfect alphas. I can't forget to mention a very special beta, Ryland. Ryland was so selfless and always putting Ver Bear's feelings and desires first. I love how they all adore and want to protect her. The banter between them had me laughing at times and swooning! I loved seeing them all come together.
I loved it!!
