Two broken hearts plus one meddling grandmother equals a Christmas to remember.
Quinn is a single mom who's down on her luck. It's a few days before Christmas and despite the fact that she's desperately trying to keep her world from crumbling down, fate isn't on her side. Just as she wrangles her five-year-old daughter into her truck, the wind picks up and scratches the Jaguar next to her. Dollar signs flash through her eyes, but it's nothing compared to the fact that the car belongs to Collin Stewart—the boy who broke her heart so many years ago.
Collin is back in his sleepy home town to spend the holidays with his sick grandmother. While out on an errand for her, he discovers that the girl he's never really been able to forget about has scratched his car. His thoughts keep returning to her and at the prompting of his grandmother, he calls her to inquire about her plans for the holidays. He soon discovers that there's been a fire at Quinn's house and the only plausible thing to do is ask her to stay with him.
It's difficult enough living in close quarters with a person you once loved, but add in Collin's sneaky grandmother or Quinn's precocious daughter and feelings become hard to ignore. Both want to protect themselves, and before they can fully trust one another, they need to decide if they can overcome their fears.
Anne-Marie Meyer is a USA Today Bestselling author who lives south of the Twin Cities in MN. She spends her days with her knight in shining armor, four princes, and a baby princess.
When she's not running after her kids, she's dreaming up romantic stories. She loves to take her favorite moments in the books and movies she loves and tries to figure out a way to make them new and fresh.
Weak, wishy washy characters! Neither Colin or Quinn were characters I liked! Both were unsure of everything and were both extremely annoying with their indecisiveness! Macie and Ruby were the only characters I enjoyed. Not a Christmas read I'd recommend! ✌
I'm loving these second chance Christmas romances, especially as this one involves a darling little girl named Macie. Quinn is a struggling single mom and when her old Ford truck door scratches her old boyfriend, Collin's, fancy car in a parking lot, she knows she's doomed.
Collin doesn't have kids and tends to spoil Macie, especially when she turns bratty. But they have a cute relationship--he's a prince to her princess ways. Of course, that really scores him points in Quinn's book. He's a very generous and loving guy.
Another common denominator with these Hallmark-type stories, is that he has a sweet grandmother who happens to love Quinn and meddles in subtle ways to get them together. Ruby is lovable and makes me miss my own grandmothers.
I love the magic of the Christmas season, as it heals hearts, instills hope within a hardened person, and brings people together in peace, love, and joy. This story is sweet and heartwarming, and utterly adorable.
Content: mild romance (kisses)

Grabbed for a free Christmas read but not that great a story. In fact it was annoying and ended abruptly with no communication or real connection. Too much indecision and see sawing, plus lots of interference from too many other people. Quinn just seemed truly pathetic. She is a struggling single mother, whose cheating ex-husband is a complete louse but he seems to control her life and what she can and cannot do. Ryan, the ex-husband turns up out of the blue at Marcie’s school dance, after saying he wouldn’t be there, after having been dumped by his girlfriend, and tells Quinn they will be spending Christmas together. Quinn just goes along with it all as she is terrified of being around Collin and the feelings he invokes. For someone with such stubborn pride, who wouldn’t let Collin buy her daughter a doll, suddenly letting Colin pay for a month in a hotel suite for her and the ex-husband, was just a big no no. Funny how Ryan didn’t even last the evening as his girlfriend phoned to say she is pregnant. Another poor child with a lousy father. Collin seemed clueless most of the time but I put that down to lack of parental love. His father was a cold so and so, though Ruby the grandmother was lovely. Didn’t need that bit about her and Horace at the end though. Usually in these books the child or children, steal the show. Marcie, the daughter, was a spoilt brat for most of the time, especially if she didn’t get her way.
"It's not all it's cracked up to be. Sometimes, a guy needs a little princess in his life."
Second Chance Mistletoe Kisses wasn't bad, but it was just alright. The plotline was simple, straight to the point and short. I recommend reading this for a quick read if you're in a slump but don't expect too much.
I enjoy the cuteness of the couple's chemistry and adding on with Macie and Ruby scenes. The plotline of the parallel differences in their life, childhood and view of happiness was a good learning lesson.
I wish there were more drama in the love triangle, and it could add a couple more pages. However, for a short read, it was not bad.
"Quinn was worth that second chance. If she'd only give it to him."
This story centers on Quinn, a hardworking single mother doing everything she can to provide for her daughter, Macie. Money is tight, so Quinn keeps expectations realistic, choosing honesty over illusion to protect Macie from future disappointment. Her love for her daughter is clear in every sacrifice she makes.
Things take an awkward turn when Quinn accidentally scratches a car in a parking lot—only to discover it belongs to her ex-boyfriend, Collin. As if that isn’t uncomfortable enough, Quinn is already struggling financially, while Collin is wealthy and newly back in town to spend time with his grandmother, Ruby, who is battling cancer. Exchanging numbers for the insurance claim unexpectedly pulls them back into each other’s orbit.
When Quinn’s house catches fire, she and Macie have nowhere to go and end up staying with Ruby and Collin. While Ruby is warm and welcoming, the situation is emotionally complicated for Quinn. Collin’s father, Thomas, is the reason their relationship ended years ago, and even though he isn’t present, his shadow looms large. Both Quinn and Collin wrestle with unresolved feelings and lingering hurt throughout the story.
Macie’s biological father, Ryan, is largely absent, which makes the bond that forms between Macie and Collin even more touching. Their relationship is incredibly sweet, and Collin slowly becomes Macie’s “prince,” adding a heartfelt layer to the story.
This is a short, predictable, and cozy read with a guaranteed happy ending. While I found parts of it a bit drawn out and somewhat repetitive, I still enjoyed the overall story. It’s a gentle, emotional romance that highlights second chances, family, and the quiet strength of a devoted mother.
Ms. Meyer does it again. I think her writing gets stronger with each story.
My favorite character was Macie. This story needed a child's perspective to really make it sparkle and shine.
Great history and chemistry between the love interests. Hurdles, emotional angst, and meddling grandmother's make this a charming story for the holidays.
Oddly enough, Quinn’s daughter Macie, age 5, won my award as the most unbelievable character for this offering by Anne-Marie Meyer. She was described as a precocious child when introduced, but I believe she frequently strained the limits of that definition. There were times that she came across more like a 20-year-old. That said, this was a great story of second chances. It was well written and believable, except the 5-year-old Macie. I loved Collin’s meddling grandmother. This is a sweet and tender Christmas story that kept me glued to my iPad all the way to the HEA ending.
This story follows Quinn who is a single mother just trying to make ends meet for her daughter Macie. She can’t afford all the nice things so she keeps it realistic for her daughter. That way Macie doesn’t get let down later on.
Quinn ends up scratching a car when leaving the store. Little does she know that car is her ex boyfriend’s Collins car. They exchanged numbers to exchange information regarding the scratch but Quinn is already struggling with money. Oh, and Collin is loaded and back in town to spend time with Ruby his grandmother who is sick with cancer.
Quinn can’t seem to catch a break when her house catches fire and she finds herself along with her daughter Macie staying with Ruby and Collin. But this is a struggle for Quinn even though Thomas (Collins dad) isn’t there it’s a struggle because Thomas is the reason Collin left Quinn in the first place. Quinn struggles with these past feelings throughout the whole story and Collin struggles with his feelings for Quinn.
Ryan who is Macie’s father isn’t around much at all. Collin forms the sweetest relationship with Macie. Which leads to Collin becoming Macie’s prince.
This is a short read, it’s a predictable sweet read with a happy ending but I struggled with it as it did feel drawn out to me and somewhat repetitive. But I did overall enjoy the story.

Two broken hearts plus one meddling grandmother equals a Christmas to remember.
Quinn's a single mom who's down on her luck. I Collin is back in his sleepy home town to spend the holidays with his sick grandmother. While doing an errand for her, he discovers that someone has scratched his car. Not just anyone, Quinn the woman he has never forgotten. His grandmother suggests he call her to inquire about her plans for the holidays. He discovers that there's been a fire at Quinn's house and the only plausible thing in his mind is to ask her to stay with him.
It's difficult enough living in close quarters with a person you once loved, but add in Collin's sneaky grandmother or Quinn's precocious daughter and feelings become hard to ignore. I enjoyed this book. Nice short read taking place during the holidays. A definite read. I loved the daughter's and grandmother's antics.
i gotta ask ...'cause i am curious? what does Amazon consider "clean & wholesome romances" like no cussing? no x-rated sex scenes or? if you know ... tell me, is that something Amazon make the decision on?? i am just wondering??! i love that cover. i will read most romances ... or at least take a stab at them and then see if i enjoy it not? i prefer ones without cussing and that silliness but it seems to be the style these days??! love a Christmas romance ... such a fan! i recently read "Marrying a Cowboy" loved it!! so glad I found that Anne-Marie did write a Christmas read ... score! love a Christmas read ...any old time ... such a fan. loved it ... must read ... and i will read more romances from this author very very soon. great style, cool fun characters. I love Ruby ...maybe 'cause I had a Ruby who was my Grandma??! so fun!
-‘They were no longer the inexperienced kids who didn’t know what life was. Instead, they were two lost souls, each having taken their own paths just to end up back here. Together.’-
I think this is one of her better stories, personally. I really enjoyed this one. Good storyline that moved at a good pace. All of her stories are clean romances. I felt that the characters were well developed and the story progressed well. It didn’t drag nor did it feel too rushed. The storyline was original enough that it didn’t feel like I’d already read it somewhere else. I recommend this book.
I received a complimentary copy from the author but this does not affect my views. These are my own honest thoughts and opinions. I received no compensation.
Since this is a second-chance romance, the feelings are already there, the couple just need to overcome some obstacles. There is a meddling grandmother to help with that, which I enjoyed! Ruby was a fun secondary character.
There were a handful of typos, which always jars me out of the story. I think the book could have used another pair of editing eyes. But all in all, I still enjoyed it. It’s a quick read and will only take an afternoon to finish.
Quick, easy read. Originally drawn to the book for the plot but lost interest very quickly. Too much internal monologue, uncertainty and miscommunication. It was a bit too cheesy for my liking as well and just didn’t flow especially since it felt so rushed. I understand it’s a novella but I almost feel like I wasted my time reading it.
I think that everything of this book was awful, but the epilogue made it even worse. Like why are they together again and 6 months later she's pregnant. The characters hardly had personalities. (which wouldn't have bothered me at all if everything else was good) So all in all it can be said that this book was literally like a Hallmark christmas movie.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It was a cute short read. Pretty predictable storyline they could have used a little more conflict or drama or just something to spice it up. Gave hallmark movie vibes which if you just want something light hearted to read can be a great thing!
