*

The devil fell in love with an angel… and now there will be hell to pay.

The first time I laid eyes on Lucas Hale—Lucifer—I should’ve turned and run the other way. But I didn’t. Instead, I agreed to work for him. I allowed myself to fall for him. I gave the Prince of Hell my heart…

…and now he’s taken it and disappeared.

The gulf between us is like a hole in my chest, but I won’t let it break me. I can’t.

Because Cephalus still wants me dead, and a new enemy is stalking me from the shadows. If I want to survive long enough to figure out the truth of who I am and find a way back to my soulmate, I’m going to have to play this game my way.

Not as a pawn.

But as a queen.

Fallen Mate is a steamy paranormal romance where the villain gets the girl. It's the final book in the Chosen by Lucifer trilogy.

This one took forever to get through the start of. The beginning just wasn’t eventful and felt like it kept dragging. I did love that Chloe freed Lucifer from the angels even after he was a major dick to her. Her father was awful and I hate what he did to her mother. I love how they found out what their fathers were planning and immediately started trying to find a solution. I love that Lucifer becomes the king of hell and that Chloe rules beside him. I was so glad when Diana joined forces with them as well.

After Sophia finds out she is an Angel in the last book, Lucifer leaves her when he thinks it will be safer without him. Sophia is devastated and along with trying to find answers, Sophia finds she is still in just as much danger. Now she has heaven and hell after her.

This was an overall good series and it sure as hell ended too, pun intended. I really could have done without the stupid separation Lucifer felt was necessary. I mean he’s fucking Lucifer, if he can’t protect her who can? So dumb and I’m more mad she barely made him grovel. This was a good end but this book was littered with way too much sex, like i get it already!

Book: Fallen Mate
Read By: Ebook and Audio
Author: Callie Rose
Genre:Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, Smut
Main Characters: Lucifer and Sophia

My feelings:

So for me the books went down hill as the series went on.
I really enjoyed book 1. And by book 3 im very disappointed.

She fell for him with 1 second, then followed him aimlessly everywhere he went, didn't ask lot of questions. Very very naive. And after he left her she forgave him straight away.

Sorry wasn’t for me. Don’t recommend

This was bad. I didn't enjoy any of it. If it weren't for my OCD keeping me reading, I would have DNF'd a whole bunch of times. Plus, I’d already made it through the first 2 books.

***Lots of spoilers below, but at this point I'm pretty sure you don't care anymore either.***

So, to start, she just left a suit of angel armor in the trunk of a car registered in her name? We're just going to leave it there? We don't care who or what finds it? Sure, I see the logic in that. I mean, I understand the purpose of the car crash, but WTH? Tie that loose end up! Oh, no, the author would rather have full chapters of sex instead of writing a logical story.

Then, after Lucifer up and left her high and dry, he swoops back in, and she's all good. As if it hasn't been months of her Bella Swanning it, and worrying the crap out of her sister (which is the only character I actually liked in this series). No, we accept his reasoning and go straight to boning for another chapter. Of course, okay.

Also, everyone knows who she is, and her sister is never once in danger? We're just not going that route? Or even worry that all these demons might go that route? Okay, that's cool. Let's not use the sister in any way. Oh, and the guy who tried to kill her throughout the entire last book is now her best bud because he now knows his brother is in LOVE.

After that, she's in heaven. Oh no! Heaven is bad. Angels are bad. My dad's an a**hole who discarded my mom and tortured Lucifer. But that's okay, I’ll use a paperweight to take out the warrior angel guarding Lucifer, no biggie. Then, as we boldly walk through heaven (it’s okay, we’re wearing angel gowns), we'll happen to walk by the room where our dads are conveniently talking loudly about their nefarious plans, and then make our easy escape through the unguarded portal. What? Like escapes are hard?

Now, how will we stop this war that’s lasted more than thousands of years? Years where Lucifer and many others have tried and failed. Pfft, our FMC will figure it out in about 30 seconds. It’ll take maybe two days to put all the clues together and... Oh, no, it’s an ambush! That’s okay, she knows how to fight and fly like a warrior and doesn’t need any angel armor (remember, it’s in the trunk). Yay! The day is saved!!!

I do not understand the 4- and 5-star reviews. It’s probably just me.

Well, this review was fun to write.

Callie Rose's Chosen by Lucifer series concludes with the third book, Fallen Mate, which was absolutely fantastic.

At the beginning of Fallen Sophia was emotionally stricken, Lucifer abandoned her after all and she had trouble getting over it. She was a mess usually I would feel like the character needed to do something to move on from this state but for some reason, it seemed right that Sophia wallowed. For me it reinforced the pair being soulmates especially since Lucifer was the same way, a hot mess. These two make quite the pair. They really are perfect for each other and are truly in love (and obsessed) with each other. I'm glad they worked through their crap early enough in the story.

First, we went to Hell in Ruthless Demon and now we're going to Heaven in Fallen Mate. This book was a bit of a surprise, especially after seeing Callie's version of Hell, turns out angels aren't better and the major theme of this book was everything is subjective. Heaven wasn't Heavenly. The angels most definitely rubbed me the wrong way, their actions seemed callous and manipulative, with no thought of any being outside themselves.

As for the overall story, of course, there was a layer of sensuality that comes from Lucifer and Sophia that is peppered throughout the book but the plot was good also. Shout out to loyal Fenriz working to get stuff done was essential for Lucifer and Sophia, he doesn't enough credit. Uriel had some apologizing to do and became an ally good thing too because Lucifer and Sophia are gonna need all the help they can get because Heaven and Hell have gotten out of control. There were a few attacks and one major battle scene. There was lots of traveling, a quest for an ancient artifact, and a major plot twist was revealed that lead to a lot of consequences. Plus Sophia finally learns about her mother's history with an angel and meets said angel. A lot of things are finally answered and resolved in this final book.

Fallen Mate was a marvelous ending to a sinfully good series with demons, angels, and nephilim alike. I loved Callie's version of Lucifer, he was a deeply complex character whose morals leaned towards good and I couldn't help but love him. While Sophia was a mfc I could get behind, in a world with powerful beings she held her own. Lucifer and Sophia had an epic romance, Fallen Mate was the perfect HEA for them.

Holy crap I needed this book yesterday. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what would happen after Sophia realizes Lucifer left her to protect her. And as much fire as Sophia has, she crumbled at the loss of her mate. What I loved was Cassidy’s love for her sister and her hardness to bring her back from the sadness. This book as well as its predecessors has so much steam, you understand why they say hell is hot. Cause Lucifer….fans self…. I also loved that we see what all these books have been eluding to. The war of heaven and hell. Without spoiling anything, this book was everything I could’ve hoped for, for these characters and this storyline. I loved this series so to have this as the final chapter is perfect in my opinion, I wasn’t left wanting. A 5 star read definitely for me.

This is the third book in the Chosen by Lucifer series, and picks up right where the last one finished.

Sophia is dealing with Lucifer's apparent desertion at the end of the last book.
In fact, she spends a lot of the first half of the book
learning a lot about who she is, especially after *that* discovery at the end of the previous book! On the back of that, we do get to visit Heaven - only fair since we spent most of the previous book in Hell, and I got real Supernatural vibes from this particular version of Heaven. Not that I'm complaining!

As you'd expect from the last in the series, all the loose ends get tied up in quite a satisfying manner. Just have tissues handy for the epilogue - in a good way!

I think this just might be my favourite M/F series I've read in a while!

good story

Sad it took so many books to complete this story. I actually skimmed a lot it’s way too wordy. This story could have been told in two book’s honestly without losing anything. Plus I came for the blurb on fb I read about . Lucifer’s hellhounds sent to attack her, but she tamed them like puppieS…. IT NEVER HAPPENED I read every single book.. they barely even mentioned hellhounds. And they never appeared in the actual storyline. No a single one! This was a huge disappointment as this was what lured me to read. This 3 part “book” this is why two stars were removed too wordy too long and NO HELLHOUNDS I WAS PROMISED HELLHOUNDS !

Sophia (FMC) and Lucifer have definitely been put through a lot in this trilogy of books but things get way more difficult for them in this finale. Stuck in the middle of Supernatural war between Heaven & Hell as well as trying to find out who their allies are. Some outstanding action packed plot twists and turns. The steam levels went up a notch with a particularly hot part in a sex club!!! Phew!! This was a great ending with a touch of bitter sweetness right to tie it all up. I loved reading this series so much

This is my first Callie Rose book, so not sure if it is the norm for so much spice 🌶🌶🌶🥵, in some of the chapters it was welcomed, in others it was a bit too much! 🥵😂
But I did like the story of Lucas and Sophia. in my opinion book 2 & 3 were better, but it was a good story and glad for a HEA.
Narration wise - the MMC was very good! I liked when he changed his voice as though he was talking to himself, so you can differentiate between conversations!
The FMC narrators was good possibly 60% of the time & then it slipped in AI sounding. it might just be the way she talks.
I would recommend!

Wow, what a read. From the very first page till the very last word, I was hooked and there was no putting this book down. It moves along at a pace that makes for an enjoyable and easy read. It has interesting characters that you want to know and you cant help but love and a story that will keep you interested and reading until the last page. This book needs to be on your TBR list, no doubt about that.

Oh my heart

I love this series. I was so happy to see so many deities mentioned and as it's written, its the closest thing I've read to how I and others believe to be true about heaven and hell, of angels and demons.. How can human understanding ever realize the truth in things beyond our perceptions? This series won me over totally. In 2 days I read all 3 and I'm so happy with the ending but sad it's over.

4.5

We were building up to such a huge finale, so I was hoping for more development and longer scenes. This installment felt rushed and could have used another 50-100 pages to further the plot

Also didn't like how the spice was turned up 10x compared to the last 2 books, it was formulaic and the characters felt like completely new people. I was able to look past it in the last book, but every life-threatening scene/event didn't need to end in sex...

Excellent! Another great book by Callie! I loved Lucifer's character. He really fell in love. No demon could believe it. Lucifer couldn't believe it. But, in order to keep her safe he leaves without saying goodbye. And they both live in misery. Until she gets attacked and Lucifer feels it. I guess it wasn't so smart for him to leave her. He promises to never leave her again. Anyway, both of them continue fighting off the demons and angels, together.
Book is filled with hot sex scenes.

WOW!

I haven't read erotica for around 20 years, and this series has shown how much more modernity explains sensuality than when I was in my 40s. Callie's explanation of Heaven an He'll, Angels and Demons aligns with my own beliefs also.
The whole series was absolutely fantastic, with the end sealing the gates between dimensions.

Great ending

Spoiler

I really enjoyed this series although i was hoping the couple would have lived their life together on earth. It ended being more of a Hades/Persephone type ending.

Fallen Mate

This book just had a lot happening and did not go in the direction I thought it would. I really loved the epilogue, it wrapped everything up nicely. Although, we never found out why the pyramid was special from book 1 and that’s a little disappointing. Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

This was such a good last book. Only thing I would want more of is what happened to heaven since Michael is no more. I love that Sophia has her family with her and they all get a second chance. I’ve never been let down by a Callie Rose book

The perfect ending!

I loved how this wrapped everything up, explaining some of the dynamics, finding out Sophia’s parental history and ultimately, how she and Lucifer save the day!

I especially loved the epilogue! Sometimes they’re corny but this one made me smile. 😁

Not my favorite series

This isn’t my favorite series. I read the third installment to see how she was going to finish the series off. No other reason. Claimed by Wolves was a better series than this one.
