Her star power in demand on a hit Broadway play, Hollywood teen starlet Kaitlin Burke packs up her entourage (ok, her showbiz family, friends, assistant, and publicist, but not the dreamy boyfriend) and moves to the Big Apple for the summer. Kaitlin is the toast of the town and she hits the most exclusive New York nightspots, enjoys the best food (Hello, Magnolia Bakery), and even guests as a celebrity host on Saturday Night Live! But New York isn't all cupcakes and virgin daiquiris. Long distance and a handsome new costar put a huge strain on her relationship with Austin, and it turns out Broadway divas are a whole different breed of neuroses and competition from starlets.

Hi Goodreads!
I'm Jen Calonita, a MG and YA author who loves what I do because it lets me connect with all of you (and no, I wasn't intending for that to rhyme!).

I've been writing ever since I can remember, but it was fourth grade when I put my "three wishes" for a genie down on paper. They were:
#1. Buy all the Cabbage Patch Kids in the world and give them away for free (because apparently that was how I rolled).
#2. I wanted a mansion, limo, lake house, pool and speed boat (still sounds quite nice).
#3. I wanted to be an author for young readers, which I am!

I love writing novels for teens (and for savvy grown ups who know that YA rocks at any age). My first series was "Secrets of My Hollywood Life" and it followed a teen star named Kaitlin Burke who struggled with the fame game. I have also written the stand-alone novels Sleepaway Girls, it's companion book, Summer State of Mind and the Belles series.

I've been writing middle grade too and am having so much fun with my series Fairy Tale Reform School! The fourth book in this series about a school run by former villains is called Tricked and will be out March 2018. Ever wonder what it would be like if your parents got a job with someone like Taylpr Swift? My other middle grade series, VIP, follows super fan Mackenzie Lowell as she tours with her favorite band, Perfect Storm.

I promise to give book updates here, and on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or my website. I hope I hear from you!

I am a huge fan of the Secrets of My Hollywood Life series and eagerly awaited the arrival of the fifth book. Broadway Lights is just as cute, fun, and sweet as its predecessors.

Hollywood switches to New York for this installment (as you might guess from the title). Kaitlyn is starring in a Broadway play for the summer. Her entire world makes the move to NYC with her - Liz, her family, Nadine, Rodney, and even Sky. Lauren and Ava are continual crashers as well. The only missing character is Austin, who is at Lacrosse camp in Texas. The two struggle to keep their relationship going as obstacles come between them - bad phone skills; a cute Lacrosse girl; Kaitlyn's handsome co-star Dylan; etc. The Broadway scene matches the LA scene in cattiness, as Kaitlyn learns from her co-star Riley.

The book follows the same plot formula as the entire series - Kaitlyn is a sweet, normal girl who goes through life trying to be the best she can be and please everyone while still having some backbone. She loves fashion and embraces the celebrity culture without becoming status-obsessed like her mom or conceited like her brother Matty. In some ways Kaitlyn never grows in these books, other than to rediscover that she's already a great person and just needs to stay true to herself. But she's such a likable character that I don't mind at all. She needs to stay the same more than she needs to change. On the other hand, Liz and Sky both grew as characters in this book. Broadway Lights also continues with the insider information about Hollywood and Broadway culture. I love learning "how things really work," whether it's true or not. The book also has lots of information about NYC, especially the cupcake shops. I get a kick out of the script excerpts from the play at the beginning of each chapter - mostly because it's so ridiculous - I can't imagine it being a Broadway production.

My chief complaint about the series is the name-dropping of celebrities. I enjoy the detailed description of fashion and name brands; it's fun to hear about what people are wearing. But the name-dropping is rather silly - "my friend Miley...my friend Vanessa." Some is fine, but I got tired of it after awhile. More importantly, the name-dropping of celebrity and fashion brands dates the books. In five years, the celebrities and fashion will be old news. That's sad because the characters and basic plot are timeless. I'd hate to see the books disappear.

Kaitlyn Burke flies out to NYC in order to star on Broadway for the first time, while her boyfriend, Austin, is off to a summer lacrosse camp in Texas. Naturally trouble follows her as two trouble makers from the fourth book (part of what made the fifth book the worst one in the series for me) are still causing trouble from afar, and there are new conflicts ahead. She is a teen celebrity, after all, but the question is, how sill Kaitlyn handle all of the pressure? Will she manage to do well on stage? Will she get another on screen role? Unlike gossip magazines, you won't get the answer from me.

This book is kind of childish, but I still like it. Kaitlin's life really goes into detail about how it is being a teenage star. I think this book is modern, and that is another reason I liked it. Now, I did not love it. I think some parts could have been added, for example more about her time with Liz as a roommate. Also, in this book there was a whole bunch of outfit descriptions, like over the top. Every singe paragraph it was what someone was wearing! I bet if non of the outfit descriptions were added, they book would be half the size. I think the author could have gotten the point across without commenting on every single persons outfit.
I kinda miss Kaitlin and Sky being enemies, for it brought more drama into the books. I do not really like the drama between her and Riley, it was almost fake. But I understand why she did that because this book had almost too much drama to handle. The other books in the series were not nearly this dramatic. I don't like how much stuff was in this book, she should have saved some for the other books.

Kaitlin goes Broadway! This series is so fun to read, and Broadway Lights is no exception. With a brand new location in New York, a Broadway play, and drama galore, this book is jam-packed with excitement.

New York is not Hollywood. Jen Calonita does a great job of setting the scene – taxis, the subway, walking the streets, plays, and even cupcake shops. The change of scenery really added a new feel to the series and I liked it.

One of my favorite things about this series is that the books have little extras in them. For instance, magazine articles, blog posts, or Kaitlin’s schedule may pop up from time-to-time. In this book, there are lines from the Broadway play’s script that add to the whole Broadway experience.

Here’s the low-down on the drama. Kaitlin’s new female co-star, Riley, is a jealous diva who freaks out when Kaitlin invades her turf. Distance does not make the heart grow fonder for Kaitlin and her steady boyfriend Austin. With Kaitlin in New York and Austin in Texas, these two have a communication breakdown. There’s a new boy named Daniel on the stage with Kaitlin too. He adds even more drama to
Kaitlin’s strained relationship with Austin.

I am having a great time reading the books in this series. Kaitlin finds herself in all sorts of usual situations and some of the entertainment people she works with are pretty crazy. After she went all paparazzi in the last book, I was so happy to see that Kaitlin got back to her old self in Broadway Lights. I can’t wait to read the next book, There’s No Place Like Home, which releases on March 1, 2011.

This deep purple looks like leather. The metal clasp and rivets are a nice touch too. And that orange font really does look like a Broadway sign. Love!

I didn't enjoy Paparazzi Princess much, so I was pleasantly surprised by BL. The storyline was interesting, and there were several of those oh-so fun "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!" moments.
There were three things though, I felt, that detracted from the fun of reading the book.
First and foremost being the gratuitous, repetitive name-dropping. Celebrity names have always been mentioned in passing in the SOMHL books, but I felt like it was happening a lot more with BL. "My friend Taylor Swift"? "My friend Miley?" It got very old, very fast, and if there was one more mention of "Vanessa" or "Zac", I was going to chuck the book at somebody.
Second, the detailed descriptions of what everyone is wearing, at any given time, was also more obnoxious than in the first four books. I have no problem with describing the outfit if Kaitlin's going to, say, a premiere or something. But describing EVERYBODY'S outfits EVERY TIME they showed up...I got really sick of it.
Third, Riley. *spoilers for personality only* I was hopeful when I read the jacket-I was thinking that maybe the enemy/rival girl in this book would be something different and interesting. Nope. Instead she was just another Mean Girl cardboard cutout. Am I the only one who's noticed that Kaitlin's enemies in every book can be more or less interchanged?
Don't get me wrong; I had a good time reading this book. And SOMHL aren't supposed to be deep, meaningful reads; they're fun, fluffy, kind of predictable chick lit. So despite sounding like I hated it, yeah, I am giving this one four stars.

I picked this up on a whim because I love reading books about Broadway whether fiction or non-fiction. About two chapters in I realized that I had read another book from this series and remembered why I didn't care too much for it. The author has a very bad tendency to "name drop" designer outfits and accessories throughout the story. Most of the time it is in no way important to know what the characters are wearing or holding, but the author feels the need to mention it all the time. And she doesn't just say that a character is wearing a pair of jeans or carrying a wallet. Nope-she has to tell the reader that they are DKNY jeans and a Tory Burch wallet. There are probably 4-5 designer items mentioned per page with each mention like a speed bump that interrupts the flow of what could be a decent story. These books are good choices for a teenage girl who wants a fun read reminiscent of a show like Laguna Beach or The Hills.

Simply put, this is pure mind candy. I have always loved Hollywood stories, back to the days of Taffy Sinclair, that fantastic spin-off of The Fabulous Five series. Calonita creates a believable, sympathetic character in Kaitlin, whose new adventure on the Broadway stage introduces the predictable boyfriend, new co-star, and old friend difficulties into her life. While the constant clothes label dropping gets a bit old, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the last in the series next year.

I am a big fan of Broadway, so I thought I would enjoy this book. This is my first SOMHL book I've read and it's pretty good. However, like most of the reviewers below stated, there is a lot of celebrity names and clothing lines being dropped, way too much. And yes, like someone stated, they give a full explanation of what the character is wearing just in the room or place they're at, and it gets overwhelming. I think this is the only SOMHL book I will read but it was good. If you're a girly-girl, you'd like this book and probably the whole series.

I thought that this book was girlier than the others, which I didn't like very much, but I suffered through it and ill suffer through the rest. I think broadway lights is extremely unrealistic, and I almost felt like I was reading a fan fiction. I hope the last one but be as bad, although I don't think its very likely. sorry, jen.
as much as I say these books are "okay", I have finished the fifth one and I still haven't killed myself. she must be doing something right.

Kaitlin Grows Up (a bit)

She goes on the Great White Way and she almost goes off the rails. I had moments where I got so frustrated with Kaitlin that I almost didn't finish this book.

But, it resolved like I wanted it to, so I guess I'm happy in the end. Dylan was pretty damn awesome, but Austin is better.

I really like this series. I love Kaitlin's character, she is kind and sweet and just a nice person. This is the kind of 'role model' I want teen girls to be reading about. This story picks up where the last left off, Kaitlin was struggling where her career should go now that her show had ended and she blew some of her chances and ended up picking a broadway play to do. She was actually excited about it as she liked the story and it gave her chance to try something new. Plus it was only for a few months so it wouldn't tie her down from future projects.

So Kaitlin heads to NYC with her mom, dad, brother Matty (who is full of himself as he got a role on Scooby Doo that everyone is talking about), Nadine, her bodyguard Rodney, and best friend Liz (she's doing a summer program at NYU). Kaitlin loves NYC, but misses some her LA perks (she prefers LA). Her boyfriend Austin is spending his summer in Austin Texas at a lacrosse camp. They have an amazing date at Disney Land before she had to head to NY. Before she left, Lauren and Ava (the D-listers that got her in trouble the last book) slam her and Sky, instigating a catfight over the media.

In NY, Kaitlin's co-star is a gorgeous brit named Dylan. Austin was concerned about her spending her time with him, she told him he had nothing to worry about. Her other co-star is a girl named Riley. She obviously doesn't like Kaitlin and is passive aggressive with her from day one. She's constantly criticizing her (to "make her a better stage actress") and it's messing with Kaitlin's mind. She's worried she's going to be a disaster.

She tries to talk to Austin about this but she has trouble connecting with him on the phone. He never seems to take her calls and when he calls her she can't take his. She finds herself relying on Dylan to cheer her up and give her the positive encouragement she needs.

My two cents, why didn't Kaitlin hire a coach to help her with her live theatre? Why wasn't there a director putting Riley in her place? Why was Riley able to be in a position to boss Kaitlin around? I think most of that could have been avoided, but then it wouldn't have created drama in the story so I guess I get what Calonita was doing.

Sky shots back in the media against Ava and Lauren and soon SKAT (Sky+Kaitlin) and LAVA (Laren and Ava) are shipped. SNL gets wind of it and asks Sky and Kaitlin to co-host the final SNL show of the season. They are thrilled and immediately agree. And they knocked it out of the park. Their chemistry was great and their comedic timing was perfect.

This gave Kaitlin more courage for her show. And when it opened, all her family and friends were there, including Austin. They had a good weekend before he left for camp. But once he was there things fell apart again. It didn't help that some girl named Amanda kept answering his phone and was rude and dismissive to Kaitlin.

It all comes to head one night and Kaitlin and Austin are bickering and Austin basically picks hanging out with Amanda over talking to her. Kaitlin is pissed (I thought justifiably so) and leaves him a message saying she's going on a date with Dylan (and that went too far). On the date she immediately goes into the bathroom and can't stop crying. Dylan comes to talk to her and she apologizes and explain what happens and acknowledges that going on this date with him was wrong of her. He's a good guy and forgives her. But she knows she really messed up with Austin (who isn't taking her calls) and she leaves voicemails apologizing but gets nothing back.

Sky has basically been bunking with Kaitlin in NY (which is infuriating Liz, who can't stand her) but they basically get over their hatred of each other to help Kaitlin get to Austin Texas so she can get to Austin. And they actually kind of start becoming friends. In Texas, Kaitlin meets Amanda first and takes the higher road and is polite and friendly. Amanda seems to get that she's not winning this and doesn't get in the way anymore. Austin and Kaitlin make up (Kaitlin takes all the blame on herself, which really made me mad. They were both equally wrong and they both didn't handle their time apart well). But whatever, Austin acknowledges that he hates talking on the phone, but in their situation it's the only solution to stay close and he knows that he has to accept it. And he does. So for their last month apart everything is good.

Sky and Kaitlin are given a script for a sitcom that has them playing college roommates (with a few other castmates... think Friends). They are shoe ins for the role after everyone saw their SNL. And they've realized that they are good working together and they want to keep working together. So they sign on for the show and everyone heads back to LA after Kaitlin's final night on broadway.

Oh, and after the back and forth drama with LAVA (they almost made her miss one of her shows by stranding her in the hamptons) Kaitlin and Sky are done and they tell the media they won't be engaging anymore with LAVA. And LAVA seems to move on to another celebrity that can keep them in the spotlight.

Looking forward to reading about Kaitlin's new show. We also learned that she did awesome on her SATs so I'm also curious to know if college is in Kaitlin's future. These books are light and fluffy with good positive messages. I like them.

This one wasn't about imploding or freaking out that required an apology to the press. Yeah! I liked that the plot line was a little different in this one. And I enjoyed the change in scene to NYC. (It is funny though to see how quickly some of the "in" things in the book are already gone.

I thought there was more emphasis on what everyone was wearing this time. It has always been part of it, but I thought it was over done this time. And how about some commas when describing the designer, cut, color, fabric of the dress?

Only one more book in the series.

I really enjoyed seeing Kaitlin and Sky become closer friends and allies in this one. Their beef with LAVA leads to some pretty funny jokes, and it was nice to see Kaitlin develop more of a backbone to stand up for herself.
I love the switch to Broadway and New York for this one. It was a fun change of scenery and I liked seeing Kaitlin in a new job and role.
The one thing that made me want to scream was the relationship drama between Kaitlin and Austin. It was totally relatable and frustrating, but I like the way that the two finally communicate and work through their issues.

This might have been my favorite book in the series, were it not for her whining about her stupid boyfriend. She should have broken up with the one dimensional loser. Aside from that, this book had some good stuff in it. Sky was fun, Dylan is better then Austin and New York was a good setting. I don't expect much from these books, considering its just a bunch of drama. But these kinds of books are my guilty pleasure, so it fit the bill.

From Goodreads: Her star power in demand on a hit Broadway play, Hollywood teen starlet Kaitlin Burke packs up her entourage (ok, her showbiz family, friends, assistant, and publicist, but not the dreamy boyfriend) and moves to the Big Apple for the summer.

My Take: Jen Calonita is a Hollywood journalist. I haven't checked her work, she might be a gossip columnist. Regardless, she knows Hollywood, she knows the stars, she knows who is IN, who is OUT, and she knows the Hollywood drama. She gives the reader a backstage pass to how stuff really works.

Kaitlin is a star. A really big star. The kind that gossip magazines LOVE to torture. The kind that attract the D-Listers (Reality TV with surgery) to engage. So Kaitlin's series ends. Kapoot. Not canceled but completed. She's now a child star without a job. So she takes on Broadway. This means that her family moves to New York City so she can pursue this dream. Meanwhile, her boyfriend, Austin is at lacrosse camp which is coed. Just a heads up here - this is the sweetest romance without any salaciousness. Very, very sweet - without being cheesy.

During this summer on the opposite coast, her former co-star, Sky the Total Diva, drops in to visit. Turns out that Sky and Kaitlin were the recipients of a paparazzi feeding frenzy because former friends, thinly veiled caricatures of Paris and Nicole (Ritchie) fight for validation through association or mud slinging. This is a hilarious aspect to the story. It's not essential for the overall story but it certainly is entertaining. Jen also takes just a few other shots at well-known untalented Hollywood clingers. Without naming names.

So Kaitlin's summer gig will be ending soon. Sooner than later if she can't handle another darling Diva while her former enemy, Sky, becomes her frenemy then friend. Co-star in the play is a total hottie who is definitely interested in K. But she has Austin. But he's in Austin (Texas).

Kaitlin's character is completely likeable. The romances are sweet, fun, and honest. Kaitlin, for all her Hollywood trappings, is surprisingly down home-cooked pie. Her mother is hilarious. Her dad is lost. Her brother is diva-esque, Sky is growing on me, Her supporting cast and crew (publicist, assistant, etc.) each have their quirkiness and clear personalities. Fun, clean read. I loved it.

Thinking that this book is part of the light and fluffy young adult genre, I decided to give this book 5 stars. 5 stars because it was a book that really was enjoyable and pleasant. When I rated this, I couldn't help but compare it to the previous books I've read then I realized that wasn't fair. As a stand alone book with no other comparisons, it pretty much rocked - big time.

The writing as usual, is fluid, funny and refreshing. Jen Calonita sure knows how to make me laugh. And speaking of her writing, it actually got me jumping up and down on my bed or dancing in my room. Most people wouldn't expect a book like this to be engaging but I beg to differ. I ached when Kaitlin ached and I wanted to 'deck' Amanda the way Sky would. I really enjoyed this book in the series. It was filled with enough drama - not going overboard, in the process. Although I was a little disappointed at the end, because it, well, 'ended' and I expected something AMAZING to happen. Sure Kaitlin ended her act in Broadway nicely, got the new show she wanted and worked things out with her boyfriend, but I was expecting more. Anyway, I still am not complaining about any of that because the rest of the story is enough to get me smiling giddily.

I liked the book a lot - especially the scenes in it. The moments when Austin called Kaitlin 'his girl' got me swooning. Dylan sounds so dreamy. And I actually like the idea of Sky and Kaitlin being friends. Also, I'd like to commend Kaitlin on a lot of things. In this book, I grew to admire her even more, so I ended up thinking that ''Why can't people be more like Kaitlin?'' She's so modest in accepting Riley's jabs, so perfectly good-natured about the whole Amanda-Austin-Dylan fiasco, and amazingly poised in handling the LAVA drama - though I did like that bit when she kind of exploded cause it was about time she stood up for herself. Like I usually do with most of the characters that I find so endearing, I find myself cheering for Kaitlin all throughout the book whether she's having boyfriend trouble, career crises, and mom meltdowns. I was this close to throwing my book at the ceiling whenever Amanda answered the phone - that's how emotionally hooked I was to the book.

All in all, Jen Calonita pulled off another fantastically funny and inspiring installment to this series. I can't wait for the next one, cause knowing Jen Calonita, it's going to be even better than the last.

Broadway Lights is the penultimate installment of the Secrets of My Hollywood Life series.

Kaitlin is a Hollywood starlet best known for her role on the ever-popular TV show called Family Affairs. Now that her show has ended, Kaitlin has signed up for a Broadway play called Meeting of the Minds.

Kaitlin, although rather materialistic at times, really cares about the people she loves. She also would rather take the high road during arguments, rather than lash out at her opponent. Towards the end though, Kaitlin decides that she was tired of being pushed around, and proceeds to talk back to the people that were making her life miserable.

From the beginning, that was what I wanted her to do. I believe that no one should have the right to do those things to her. In the end, she realizes that maybe stooping to the level of those people wasn't the best way to go.

As I read that, I kind of changed my opinion. The people who were causing her harm wanted her to feel that way, and so the best means to get over it is to just walk away. After all, they can't do anything to you if you no longer care.

After I read the book, I realized that a lot of Hollywood starts are often misjudged, whether it be because of the media, or comments from other stars. Although their lives appear glamorous, there is actually a lot of "backstage" things that we don't know about. Gossip magazines often publish the wrong information, giving the wrong impression to society as a whole.

Even though many people would trade everything to have what stars have, I can understand why some of them would trade everything to have what we have.

Kaitlin shows that there is a side of Hollywood (although she is a fictional character) that is not always what it seems, and with the emotion she channels through the pages, it would be a great read anytime, anywhere.

I am giving this only four stars because of the stress and pain and heartache and well, stress. I took a break from this book before because it didn't grab my attention as much as I wanted it to so there, but I resumed reading it on Friday and I'm finally done! Now on to the next book!

Anywaaaaay. Well, there. I still am as annoyed as ever with Kaitlin's Mom, and as always, I wanted Kaitlin to spend all her time with Austin it's not even funny. I got really very annoyed at Kaitlin when she spent all her time with Dylan just because Austin couldn't be there as much for her. I really really got annoyed to the point when I just wanted to see if everything would fall apart because I was so scared at what was happening to her and Dylan and Austin and Amanda.

I feel really sorry for Riley. I mean at first whenever she kept pointing out Kaitlin's flaws, I wanted to push her off the stage but when she saw Dylan and Kaitlin 'getting cozy', I felt so sad for her. And when Kaitlin asked Dylan to go on a dinner with her. I felt even more annoyed at Kaitlin.

I love Sky Mackenzie. At first I hate her but ever since Family Affair ended I have loved that girl so much, even when she and Liz couldn't stop arguing.

Anyway, when Kaitlin realized that she didn't want to be with Dylan, I felt so happy. I've been waiting for her to realize that those weird things she felt for Dylan would be no match to what she feels for Austin. And I'm glad she did, though not as early as I hoped she would.

Nooooww, I'm so nervous. I'm so nervous to read the final book and also sad because wow, six books, and now it's almost over. I sort of wish Kaitlin would quit the business because of everything she's had to go through, although I don't want her to because I know she loves what she does. Her Mom really annoys me, but I love Kaitlin and Austin. :)

Broadway Lights by Jen Calonita was a decent book in the Secrets of my Hollywood Life series. To be reading about a celebrity--especially Kaitlin Burke was very refreshing. Calonita did a very good job making Kaitlin seem real throughout the series. But specifically in this book, Calonita included famous people like Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, making Kaitlin almost a real hollywood star.

It was a pleasure reading this and I can't wait till the last one comes out. It's been a long time since I've read the book before this one, therefore I can't recall the amount of drama Calonita usually installs in her books, but in Broadway Lights, there was tons of dramas keeping me interested. However, the amount of drama backfired because it was just too much. One of it was about the Ava and Lauren catfight--continued on from the previous book; another one was about Austin being away from home at some co-ed camp with a girl named Amanda. There were alot tiny issues that were somewhat unnecessary.

Yet it was still a great book to read. Knowing that the setting was now New York instead of Hollywood made the book even better because I was familiar with the places Kaitlin was walking by, eating at and so on. In this book, Kaitlin left Hollywood with her family to star in a broadway show. Everybody was skeptical at first because critics were going hard on Kaitlin, but like every story out there, everything turned out great. What makes this even more fun to read is because not only did Calonita included many Hollywood Secrets in the book, she put Kaitlin on SNL!!

This book was great and I'm definitely excited for the last one.

Kaitlyn's leaving for New York City and ready to make her Broadway debut. She's not happy about leaving her boyfriend behind for so long, but she's convinced they can make it. She's not ready for a costar who likes her and a jealous boyfriend.

She and Austin keep missing phone calls and thus stop sharing details. Kaitlyn has enough on her mind trying to get ready for a live audience, a snarky costar, adjusting to a new city, and a media fight with two former friends.

As Kaitlyn explores the city, she can't help but wonder why her relationship is falling apart. Nor can she help but question the future. There's a great pilot she read, but it might mean working with Sky again. With Sky, in the city for work, they've moved towards friendship. Could she risk it all by attempting to work with her again? All she knows is that she's not letting the future scare her anymore and she's ready to take back control of her life.

I love this series: it's fun, flirty, and even though it's about Hollywood, Kaitlyn is a down-to-earth girl adjusting to life's curve balls. This fifth book in the series is next to last, and I can't wait to see how it wraps up.

Kaitlin is in New York working in Broadway and Liz, Kaitlin's best friend, and Kaitlin are roommates. Austin, Kaitlin's boyfriend, is in Texas for lacrosse. So Austin and Kaitlin are in a long distance relationship and things aren't working fir them. Dylan, one of Kaitlin's costar, has a crush on Kaitlin. Kaitlin and Austin are fighting often and blaming each other for their relationship growing apart. Ava and Lauren are fighting with Kaitlin and Sky, former costart for family affair. Sky and Kaitlin teams up to fight back. They become closer friends and hang put often and upsets Liz. Liz and Sky can't stand each other because of their dad and now because of Kaitlin. Riley, another costar in the broadway show, doesn't like Kaitlin. Kaitlin's mom wants Kaitlin to be in Dancing Daisies when Kaitlin doesn't want to.

Kaitlin is like a trouble magnet. There is always trouble around her, either it's with Sky, Austin, Liz, family or her job. Most of the time Kaitlin let's things slide but when things get worst or ruin her repretation she starts to fight back which sometimes is kind of late.

Broadway Lights by Jen Calonita was an amazing book! This was another amazing book in the series Secrets of My Hollywood Life! This couldn't have been better I loved it and can't wait to read the last book in the series next! I enjoyed everything in this book, and even if I wanted to change something, I wouldn't!

Hollywood teen start Kaitlin Burke, is ready for Broadway! She was done movies, TV shows and pretty much everything else, but it's time to go live, with no cuts or actions. Kaitlin now is moving to the Big Apple for summer. Kaitlin is having the time of her life in New York, and now is a host on Saturday Night Day! But New York isn't always that great. Kaitlin's new costar is getting her and Austin's (her boyfriend) relationship, making Kaitlin who she really does have feelings for. And even worse her two nemesis, Ava and Lauren, are making everything have drama, and causing huge scenes!

I recommend this book to mainly girls, because it's about a girl Hollywood star, and it's in her perspective. I loved this book and can't wait to read the next one in the series! If you read this book, you will be surprised, and won't be able to put the book down!

I love this series. It is great for anyone who is fascinated by celebrities and Hollywood. This one focuses on Broadway too. Jen Calonita is a great writer, and I love her Secrets of My Hollywood Life. All of them have been different and unique, which can be hard considering it's book 5. This one was fluffy though.

I feel like the relationship with Austin is repeating. Not being able to make time for eachother is an old subject. I'd like to see the next and final book take on some harder issues than that, which I'm sure it does considering the bio.
Also, is it bad that I ADORE Sky? I think she's one of the most truthful characters, even if she is a b*tch. Without her, this book would have been boring. Dylan and Rylie were a nice addition, although I don't think any guy who allows the girl he supposedly 'likes' to be verbally-beaten by someone else is gentleman. The overuse of British terms were cheesy at points, but did the trick.

Any-who, I recommend reading the first book first. (Of course.) And definitely stick with the series! 4/5 stars.
