An Island Paradise … Hidden Nazi Gold … A Deadly Battleground
When Steve Carlton purchases Big Darby Island in the Exuma Cays so his daughter can build a tropical getaway, he’s faced with one disaster after another. Someone wants him to leave his own island and is willing to do whatever it takes to make him.
Desperate, Carlton turns to Ryan Weller, whose growing reputation as a troubleshooter has garnered more headlines than he’d like. He agrees to exorcise the “ghosts” that haunt Big Darby, but when the former EOD tech arrives, the only person he finds is Carlton’s daughter Diane, a woman hellbent on restoring a neglected house and to starting a new life. She’s not about to be scared off or persuaded to leave, even if it’s for her own good.
The “ghosts” have their own plans—a methodical search for Nazi gold secreted out of Berlin during the closing days of World War II. To find it, they’ll let nothing—or no one—stand in their way. Forced into hunting for the gold, Ryan finds himself trapped between a relentless adversary intent on installing a Fourth Reich and the desire to save a woman he is desperately trying to distance himself from. But in order to save both their lives, he must first play the deadliest game
I'm center-brained and I get bored easily. I worked a lot of jobs in construction, as a security guard, a motorcycle tech (I'm a certified for Honda and Yamaha), as a car technician, a property manager, and in the scuba industry. My favorite job was being an aviation electronics technician (AT) in the US Navy. (I guess my new favorite is writing). After a motorcycle accident left me paralyzed, the Navy said, "You're out of here," and medically retired me. I moved back to Ohio, got married, had a son, and completed a bachelors in business management. I was always tired of the cold and the snow. It doesn't make it easy to get around when you're in a wheelchair. After years of trying to convince the wife to sell the house and travel, we bought a twenty-five foot toy hauler. I voided the warranty the day we brought it home by taking out one of the bunks and making and installing custom cabinets. Then we spent several winters traveling the Southwest, and eventually sold the house. We lived in the trailer full time for about two years and saw most of the US, except Kansas and Nebraska and New England. We'll get there. Along the way, I tried my hand at a lot of action sports; skiing, skydiving, bungee jumping, motorcycle racing, ATV riding, and scuba diving. I love to dive, so much that we ended up settling in Hollywood, Florida. I try to dive at least once a week and I'm working on my technical diving certifications. I want to go to three hundred feet.

The extra chapter input by the "Germans" seemed unnecessary. The kissing with Diane was/is a large character flaw on the part of Ryan. Probably in real life it would happen that way but this is fiction. I want the lead character to be stronger. I look forward to the next Ryan Weller book!
