2/1/2 stars....

They say keep your friends close and your enemies closer, but what if they are one and the same? Ramiro helped every single band member out of what seemed like impossible situations, yet they are willing to turn on him when things get rough.

But that’s just the beginning of the story. Ramiro has a lot to work through and it won’t be easy. Dealing with the death of a loved one never is, and in this case Ramiro’s grief goes from bad to worse. Finally he realizes he needs help and now the story takes a new turn. Ramiro fought his devils and won. His manager stayed by his side through thick and thin …. until she couldn’t. She couldn’t watch him throw it all away. No more could she enable him and that was the best gift she ever gave him.

🤔 OBSERVATIONS:

This book had so much going for it. A popular rock band star, a manager who refuses to give up and a love story in the making. But unfortunately it failed. How?

…. X-rated potty mouths by everyone was over the top It took away from the storyline and made it difficult to ‘feel’ the emotions trying to be portrayed. I want to be drawn into a story, not turned away from it.

… The bedroom exploits combined with the potty mouth language, left little of the real storyline. That’s a shame as the real story would have been wonderful.

… How many times do we have to read how UGLY Carman is? We get it. Yes, we know she’s nothing to look at. The point has been made, she lacks in the looks department, but evidently not enough to keep the men from fantasizing about how she’d be in the bedroom. It was just too much.

…. Cliffhanger ending.

Firstly, I suggest you should stop what you’re doing now and download a copy of this book now, as it was a truly incredible read. This book is not only a romantic story, but also highlights struggles that plague people after the loss of a loved one and the strength it took to overcome their demons. The story also showed that the continuous enabling of bad behaviour doesn’t help, but letting go and walking away may actually show them that you love them.

This was an written emotionally challenging romance story, grabbed my attention at the beginning and took me on a whirlwind of a journey, with quite a number of twists, but finally ended with a happily ever after. It is a definite must read book.

RAMIRO AND CARMEN

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Ramiro is the lead singer of a band and Carmen is his manager. Carmen is six foot three and not a very pretty woman. She is ugly, but she knows how to manage the band and she has connections throughout the city. I like this story because it doesn’t go with the norm of a beautiful woman and a perfect man. Ramiro has his problems that destroyed his band and Carmen makes a decision that makes Ramiro take another look at his life. I know I’m not supposed to criticize the grammar because this book is an ARC but it took away from the story making a 5 star novel into a 4 star novel. It was hard to grasp the meaning of some of the sentences. I loved the story no matter what.

I was hooked from the beginning with this book! Ramiro and his rock group, Seismic are at the top, but floundering. Carmen is their manager. Ramiro is drinking and doing frugs getting into trouble after his sister’s death. The rest of the band wants him out and wants Carmen to tell him. They have more than a working chemistry, but don’t act on it. He cleans up and goes to her, his only friend. There are a lot of other elements to the story and it is so good! I couldn’t believe it was a cliffhanger, on to the next.

This was an emotional story about loss, grieving and how to deal with it. You empathize with the characters Ramiro and Carmen, Ramiro has difficulty with the loss of his sister and therefore loses track. But he has support from Carmen in processing this. This was a story that I find hard to put down and because of that I read it in one sitting :)

Ramiro is a famous singer, who is struggling with the tragic loss of his sister. Carmen is the bands manager, and she is determined to help Ramiro when he is let down by others. This is a good story which is an emotional roller coaster, with tragedy, romance, loss, grief, challenges, twists, healing, family, friendships, and love, which leads to an enjoyable page turner.

Ramiro spirals after his sister’s death. Carmen Is the only one who sticks by him until she can’t. The only thing that made me cringe was how her looks were described. Other than that I really enjoyed the story. Tanner shocked me when the truth came out. But Ramiro really turned his life around. I’ll have to read book two since this was the prequel

I did enjoy this book for the most part, Carmen and Ramiro did have good chemistry and they had their own issues coming to terms with wanting to be together. The story line was good but I did think all the times that was mentioned about how ugly Carmen was, was a little extreme. It didn't have to be said over and over. This was a good book, and I do recommend it.

Ramiro Brandt is a famous singer but the life of music, money, and fame comes to a halt when tragedy strikes and cripples the untamable beast of a man he once was. If Carmen doesn’t help Ramiro out of this tragedy, Ramiro will lose his career and the Music Band. An enjoyable read. Am voluntarily leaving my review.

This was a good realistic book with great characters. It was refreshing to read about a woman who wasn’t a 10 or anything close to it. The downfall was how many times we read how ugly she was. That just took away from the story. The struggles and heartache were real.
