Dawn Ellis grew up near Spruce Pine, NC near the Blue Ridge Parkway. After graduating from high school, she spent the next 4 years in a community college getting a certificate in bookkeeping and passing grades in the real estate salesman and brokers courses
Dawn loved the mountains but wanted to see the rest of North Carolina.
She found openings for bookkeepers at Weyerhaeuser near Plymouth, NC. After the interview, she knew immediately after the interview, she wanted no part of being in a pool of bookkeepers.

Downtown she found a help wanted, Bob Willis was on the phone. Cutting his call short, he asked if he could help her?
She replied that she was answering the sign on the door.
He hired her on the spot. During the interview, he discovered that she had taken the real estate and broker courses passing both.
“I’m also looking for a place to live.”
Bob replied that he could take care of that too.
“I own a group of townhouses on the banks of the Roanoke River and have one I think you would like.”

After a brief tour, she asked about the lease, and he shaved it to a point he thought she could afford.

In the space of one day, Dawn had found a job, a place to live, a man she really liked and maybe a career in real estate sales.
A week later she took and passed the real estate exams and when her license arrived, Bob asked her to hang it beside his.

Dawn appeared to have a golden horseshoe producing sales and listings almost immediately.
One of very few over 2 million dollars properties sold almost immediately.
She chanced on a beautiful ranch style home on Ruby Lane. It was soundfront property and wasn’t occupied.
She mentioned it to Bob, and he blew her mind.
“It’s titled to me”
“It’s what?”

By this time, they were growing closer and closer and had already passed the point of climbing their mountain and it was inevitable that living together wasn’t too far in the future.

That same week, they moved into the dream home on Ruby Lane.
Life couldn’t be any better until that Sunday night when her mama called late in the evening which she never did.
“Honey, your daddy’s had a heart attack and they’ve flown him to Asheville.”
While explaining what was going on, Dawn packed a few items and was on the Super Slab driving towards Ashville. It was going to be a long night.
Somewhere past Statesville, her mama called. She pulled off on the shoulder of the road.

Two hours later, Dawn gave her precise instructions on how to get to Greenville.
“Just Park anywhere and I’ll lead you in.”

Dawn arrived in Greenville renting a room at the Holiday Express.

She wasn’t in her room 20 minutes before her mama called saying she was passing the airport.
The next 24 hours were harrowing to say the least but they immediately liked and trusted Dr. Frazer as he explained, step by step, the methodology he was using to restore Mr. Ellis’ health.
Her daddy ended up spending 8 days in the hospital even after Dr. Frazer explained that it appeared not to be A Fib, but he installed a monitoring device just in case.
Her daddy’s introduction to a total change in his diet was probably the worst, to him, of all the experiences being told that everything he enjoyed eating was now on his ‘do not touch’ list.
Meanwhile, Dawn and Bob had to get back to work, the new building would be coming out of the ground soon and with it more employees.
