الحب الضائع وقصص أخرى, للكاتب "جان كارو (1920-2012)". ولد "كارو" في جويانا بالبحر الكاريبي, أشهر ما يتميز به هو الأدب السياسي عن الاستعمار ونزعة الاستقلال المضادة للاستعمار, بجانب عمله السياسي.



كعادتي، قرأت القصة قبل القراءة عن القصاص، وسيرة القصاص أوضحت لي سبب الحضور القوي لشخصية المصلح الاجتماعي في القصص، رغم أن القصص ليست سياسية، وليست واقعية أيضاً؛ فهي تجنح للخيال دائماً, وما يجمع القصص هو أن شيئاً غريباً يحدث لأبطالها.

القصص مسلية، وهذا ملخص بسيط للمغزى من القصص، قد يكون فيه حرق لبعض الأحداث.


القصة الأولى: "الحب الضائع". رأيت فيها أن الحب يلزمه المخاطرة, وهذه المخاطرة فرصة قد لا تتكرر سوى كل عشر سنين.

القصة الثانية: "الدمية". وكثيراً ما نرى الكثير من الناس كدمى. نعاملهم كدمى, ونلاطف الدمى التي نرى منها بعض الأفعال اللطيفة التي تشبه بها البشر. ولكن قد نصدم كيف أن هذه الدمى تقوم بما ليس من المفترض بالدمى أن يقوموا به. إذا أصررت على معاملتهم كدمى, فالكاتب يتوقع لك نهاية سيئة.

القصة الثالثة: "الرجل الآخر". الرجل الآخر لكل كاتب يظهر في العزلة وفي أوقات الضغوط القهرية لإجباره على الامتناع عن الكتابة, وغالبا ما يرضخ الكاتب.

القصة الرابعة: "الساحرة". الساحرة قد تعطيك الشجاعة, فقط عندما تعتقد أنك شجاع لما يكفي.

القصة الخامسة: "نهاية الرحلة". سيحبطونك فتتجاهلهم وتنتصر. أو تستمع لكهنتهم ولا تلم إلا نفسك بعدها.

قرأت نسخة مختصرة, لأن العمر أقصر من أن أحيط بكل الروايات الكلاسيكية السابقة التي فاتتني. وأنا أريد فعلاً أن ألم بهم.

Lost Love and other stories is a wonderful book that includes five stories; Lost Love, The Doll, The Other Man, The Charm and Journey’s End. I enjoyed more the Lost Love story which took me to another world and made me surprised and saddened at the same time. The Lost Love story revolved around a man who fell in love with an imaginary woman he saw in the road near her village when he wanted assistance because his car’s petrol finished. He went with her to her strange village where the life was very old so much so that its people didn’t know what was the meaning of petrol. They wore strange clothes, cooked over a wood fire and they used horses instead of cars. And the most interesting thing, when the man defined the truth from people of another town which was that this village had a big fire 350 years ago by Oliver Cromwell who killed its people because they helped the king in the war, and no one lived there. This village was alive one day every ten years and no one could ever leave unless they left before morning. So, Mary told him to leave the village before the morning but the tears in her eyes told him the truth. The end was very sad when the man sat dawn on the ground and cried. I liked this story because it seemed to me very exotic and exciting to me to read it to the end that was painful, it removed man’s heart because he lost his love that will never return again. It's a really strange story that the man lived for one day.

There are five stories in this book. It was easy to read actually, because each story is really short. My favorite story is lost love. I guess the man in this story think a woman is his destiny. It was good to read for me. I also found scaring one. It was The Doll. I don't like this story. It was too scaring for me.

It shows that the man really love Mary and he want to meet her again from the bottom of his heart.


There are five short stories so it was easy to read. My favorite story is "The charm". The man depended on the charm at first, but he could become a brave man without the charm. After reading it, I thought that we can do everything with believing our self.

“These things happened to me nearly ten years ago- I lived in a city but the city was hot in summer. I wanted to see the country. I wanted to walk in the woods and see green trees- I had a little red car and I had a map, too. I drove all night out into the country.”

Summary:
The stories in this book are exciting and sometimes very strange. Some are sad and some are happy. We meet many interesting people — a young man in love, a lonely customer in a shop, a shy soldier. Strange things happen to all these people. But life is strange sometimes.

Final Review:
These short stories were interesting. A pattern that all stories share a theme that strangeness permeates the events in the stories.

I really liked it, it was short tho but I read it in Like half an hour, only 29 pages. I really enjoyed it and since it was short I felt good about finish ing it and it had so many good stories. My favourite is The Charm. The stories were well wrighten and just intertaing, and some had a little plot twis. All in all I like it.

b This is a doll's face. However the owner of the doll was dead, the doll laughed. It's very strange and ghastly.

5. There are some stories. Some story are interesting and the others are strange. My favorite story is "The Charm". I thought believing something makes everyone strong. Anyone want to die, but if you face a crisis... It is important for everyone to have a strong hurt. This book was very fun.

This book's genre is horror. The book is the story about things that is not possible with reality and horrible.
I like doll the best of all the characters. Because the doll isn't cute at all and it is very weird.
My favorite part is a part of a hero knew that there is no such as the village now in the story of "lost love".
I didn't enjoy very much. Because these stories are too short,so I couldn't know what became of the characters after that. But it was good in that I can read a lot of stories smoothly.
I would recommend this book to anyone who like a horror book.

This was the most intersting of all short stories book which I already read. Moreover, it was easy to read so if you don't have enought time, please try to read this book.

Not really a book, but yeah. Liked he Oliver Cromwell mention, the doll story was depressing.
