Val has loved the same man for as long as she can remember. The only problem, he doesn’t love her back.

Fated mates are hard to find, but that’s not what Val dreams of. She just wants to be with Wayne. So, on the night of Eme and Logan’s mating ceremony, she approaches Wayne and confesses her feelings. Even though he is drunk, she’s hoping he returns the same feelings. Wayne, being the ladies man that he is, takes her to bed. Thinking that he does feel the same, she’s excited about it . . . until the next day.

He doesn’t remember anything. Their coupling, her confession. Nothing.

Wayne is oblivious as to why Val won’t talk to him anymore, but he has bigger problems than women right now. Wolfcalm is still on the rise, and if they don’t get a handle on it, and the rogues who are selling it, the humans will start revolting. The last thing they need to is fear the humans.

didn't fully deliver for me. The story felt rushed and I struggled to connect emotionally. While some moments were sweet or promising, overall it lacked the depth and intensity I was hoping for. Unfortunately, it didn't leave a strong impact.

Desire Me picks up right after the fight at the end of Reject Me that was between Logan and Dillon at the mating party, and the banishment of a traitor within the pack. Thought the mood doesn’t stay sombre as the drink flows and the party continues. Eme catches Val longingly staring at Wayne and suggests Val should talk to Wayne, tell him her true feelings. Then at least Val will know one way or another if there is a chance at a future relationship between them or not. With Val full up on “Dutch courage” supplied by the flowing alcohol she approaches Wayne who is talking and drinking with Draven. Val asks for a word alone with Wayne, one thing leads to another and they end up going off together. The following morning when Val has got up to make breakfast it becomes apparent Wayne has no recollection of the night before or the fact he slept with Val! Val is crushed and ends up confiding in Eme who encourages Val to talk to Wayne about what happened but Val is stubborn and even when Wayne realises something happened and is trying to contact Val, she makes him wait until she is ready to talk and quite rightly makes him work a little for her attention.

Wayne makes a rogue contact, Jimmy, who reveals some interesting information and who proves to be a valuable link to someone who can help rescue Eme and Val when they are kidnapped by the city rogues and their new Alpha. Logan, Wayne and Draven mount a rescue with the help of city rogue Sammi who happens to turn out to be someone rather special. Wayne realises he does have true, deep feelings and he wants to settle down with Val.

I enjoyed the at times comedic romance between Val and Wayne and the way Eme pushed them together to eventually sort things out one way or another. I thought the Wolf Calm plot was interesting and though I had an inkling who the new Alpha would be just before he was revealed, it was still a little shocking how someone could change so quickly.

I loved the characters of Eme, Val, Logan, Wayne, and Draven and even grew to really like Becca in the end. I enjoyed the banishment and the fight for Eme between Logan and Dillon was tense and not a sure thing that Logan would win! I instantly loved Sammi and wish we had got more of her, perhaps a novella or turn Brook Mountain into series rather than leaving it a duology and give Sammi and Draven a book of their own?! I thought the Val and Wayne scenario had some hilarious moments, the way Wayne thinks of himself as an expert with women especially after giving tips to Logan on how to woo Eme, yet he couldn’t see the person that was besotted with him right under his nose, cleaning his house and cooking his meals for him.

I found the shifter world & plot fascinating, how differently Logan runs things as Head Alpha of the US and Brook Mountain Alpha than his predecessors. During his fight for Eme with Dillon he didn’t want a fight to the death, he was going to allow Dillon to live. The way he has to handle rogue wolves, betrayal within his own pack, the alliance with the Stonewell pack as well as all the romance going on too. I adored the characters especially the shy curvy shifter women as they found their perfect shifter male matches! I loved the little details within the book such as every shifter business displays a paw in its window.
The only negatives I have is that the ending where it jumped to Christmas felt rushed and that I would have loved more books about this group of characters. I mean there is potential for a book about Draven and his fated mate! And more of the pack could be introduced along with different issues the Brook Mountain pack and its Alpha may have to deal with. I’d really love more!!

My immediate thoughts upon finishing the book were that I had enjoyed the Duology so much that I wanted more!

Summing up, great curvy girl, steamy, paranormal shifter duology!!

So Good

I thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish. It was so interesting see for Val go through the myriad of emotions that she went through because of Wayne's lack of awareness. And I also like how we had over reaching arc from book one that was concluded and the most satisfying way possible.

Val has been in love with Wayne for as long as she can remember. The only problem was, he didn't love her in return.

Val knows that fated mates are hard to find, but she's never dreamed of a fated mate. All she's ever wanted was to be with Wayne. So, on the night of Eme and Logan's mating ceremony, Val gathered up her courage and approached Wayne, confessing her feelings. And even though he's drunk, Val prays he returns the same feelings. Wayne, being the ladies' man he's always been, takes her to his bed. Val thinks that this means he feels the same as she does, and she's excited about it...at least until the next day.

The next morning Val realizes that Wayne doesn't remember anything. Their coupling, Val's confession. Nothing whatsoever.

Wayne is oblivious to why Val has stopped talking to him, but he's got bigger problems than a woman not talking to him at the moment. Wolfcalm is on the rise, and if the pack doesn't get a handle on it, and the rogues who are selling it, the humans are going to start a revolt. And the last thing the packs need is for the humans around them to start fearing them.

Desire Him is the 2nd book in the Brook Mountain Shifters Duet by D.V. Fischer. This is Wayne and Valentine's (Val) story. I love D.V. Fischer and the stories that she weaves. And this duet is no different from any of the other books that I have read by her.

Val has been in love with Wayne for as long as she can remember and for Val, Wayne is her everything. Val's loved Wayne for the better part of her life, and when he publicly kisses her at Logan and Eme's mating ceremony, Val is over the moon thinking that he feels the same way she does. She had just confessed to him her feelings, but she didn't realize that he was drunk out of his mind till the next morning, after they had spent the night together, that he'd never said it back and he didn't remember any of it. He didn't remember her confession, the kiss, or even them spending the night together.

Val was left reeling, hurt, heart-shattered, so she decided to go shopping with Eme in the city. Logan, not wanting to let his new mate out of his sight, takes them, but does allow them some privacy to shop for lingerie and he leaves to go to the sports store.

Just like with the first book, we get to find out who betrayed the pack, gets banned, and is sent out of the pack.

Jim suddenly finds that as he's an Alpha and now a rogue world having been sent out of the pack, he now manages to become the Alpha of the Rogue Pack. After that, he decides to lash out at the pack that banished him. And with his new pack, they set out and kidnapped both Eme and Val.

Logan finally meets up with Wayne, Draven, and Becca who were also in the city and they all set out to find Logan's mate Eme and Val. They finally find both women holed up with Jim and the other rogue wolves.

When Wayne realizes that Val is in danger and is being threatened, he quickly realizes that he really does have deep feelings for Val. Draven, finds his fated mate in Sammi who is a rogue and he helps to get him away from the rogues also with Val and Eme, and back to the Brook Mountain Pack and away from Jim.

Upon this revelation, Wayne is ready to kill whoever has Val. Thankfully, Val is safely rescued by both Draven and Wayne, who had to fight Val's kidnapper to the death.

Val knew that she could find some happiness after everything she's been through with Jim, but when Wayne offers for them to spend more time together, for Wayne to learn more about his feelings and ensure they are true. They are true mates till the bitter end.

I love how we get to see further character development in this 2nd book of the duet. Not only do we get to see further character growth from Logan and Eme but we also get to see character growth from characters like Wayne, Val, Draven, and his fated mate Sammi. The character development and arcs were perfect and well-plotted.

If you love found families, shifters, fated mates, great character development, and character arcs then the Brook Mountain Shifter Duet is the duet that you have been looking for.

the 2nd book in the Brook Mountain Shifters duet is Wayne and Valentine's (Val) story.
For Val, Wayne is her everything. Having loved him for the best part of her life, she is beyond thrilled when he publicly kisses her at her Alpha's Mating celebration. She professes her love to him, but he doesn't say it back. She realises too late that he was so inebriated that the night he spent with her is forgotten by him.
Still reeling from her hurt feelings, Eme and Val decide to go to the city shopping. Logan, Eme's mate takes them but leaves them to shop for lingerie while he goes to the sports store.
As in the first book, you find out who betrays the pack and is banned and sent away.
Being an Alpha and now a rogue wolf, Jim finds he becomes the Rogue Pack's Alpha and kidnaps Eme and Val.
Logan, finding his pack mates, Wayne, Draven and Becca who are already in the city, help to find his mate, Eme and Val holed up with Jim and some other rogue wolves.
Finding out that is Val being threatened, Wayne soon realises his feelings for Val are very real. Draven, Finding his fated mate, Sammi, also a rogue, he gets her to help the Brook Mountain wolves retrieve their pack mates from Jim.
Wayne is ready to kill whoever has Val, and is stunned by this revelation!
Ah love....Val is rescued by Draven and Wayne, who fights their kidnapper to the death.
Finding happiness after her ordeal with Jim, Val takes up Wayne's offer to spend more time with him and learns to accept his new feelings as true. Mates till the end!!

She's loved him for years unnoticed

This is a lovely sweet and spicy wolf shifter romance by DV Fischer; one I've really enjoyed reading and would recommend. Plenty of plot, misunderstandings, danger, desire, humor, love, romance and spice. I loved the character development between the main characters and watching the romance grow between them as they sorted their misconceptions.

This follows straight on from "Reject Him" and we follow Val (who's looked after Logan the alpha and Wayne the beta for years) and Wayne. Val has been in love with Wayne, which is one of the reasons she looks after him as well as Logan. Eme had noticed and encourages her to speak to him so she confesses her feelings one evening and wakes in bed with him the following day. But he'd been drinking and didn't remember anything.

Wayne has liked Val for years but knows he's not good enough for her or that he'd ever have a chance with her. But he can't understand why she and the alphas are so cross with him. He realises he must have done something the night before, he just wishes they'd tell him what so he can make amends.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Book 2 picks up right where Book 1 left off. I enjoy the author’s writing style, though the plot itself feels a little simplistic at times—there’s something missing to really give it that spark.

I liked the main characters, Val and Wayne. Val is caring, thoughtful, and utterly in love with Wayne (though Wayne doesn’t know it). Wayne, on the other hand, is carefree, fun-loving, and not at all looking for a relationship. Their dynamic is interesting, but since this is a shorter book, the pacing moves very quickly—maybe too quickly—without much time for deeper character or relationship development.

I personally love when a story ends with an epilogue, and this one didn’t have one, which left me wishing for a little more closure.

That said, it’s a quick, easy, and very readable shifter romance that fans of the series will likely enjoy.

Thank you to the author for the ARC. This is my honest review.

Book two picks up right where the first left off, but this time we get Val’s story. She’s been in love with Wayne for a long time, though he doesn’t exactly feel the same way—at least not at first. Val is such a sweet and kind character, which made me love her even more. Wayne, on the other hand, comes off as a bit of a player and doesn’t always think about others. This one’s a quick read, but it’s packed with action and drama that keeps you hooked. I also loved getting little glimpses of Eme and Logan again—it’s always fun when side characters from the first book take the spotlight later on. The story is well-written and well-developed, and the ending was fantastic. Overall, such a great read!

I was so excited for this story after reading the 1st one. But I wanted more, meaning I would love it to be longer. But sometimes that’s not necessary. A story can be short and perfect. I loved these characters! Minus that, this story was such a good read. I was captivated by the book from start to finish. The character development filled my cup with this book. It starts perfectly from the last books ending.

Valentine is amazing and she deserves all the happiness in the world. Which is probably why I want a longer story. I loved how much she cared about everyone but made her moves to take care of herself. Wayne was there, once he opened his 👀, to show her just how amazing she was. And it was gloriousssssss!!!

Book 2 focuses on Val and Wayne mainly. Val has been in love with Wayne for most of her life and hoping he would return the feelings. It had me laughing that he thought of himself an expert in women, but yet he was so clueless when it came to Val and how she felt for so long. He doesn’t feel anything for her it seemed until she was in danger and then all of a sudden he “came to his senses.”

I feel like I wanted a little bit more for them, some more development of their story and relationship. I don’t read as many shifter stories, so maybe I’m not as familiar with them, but it felt like it jumped pretty quick.

Desire Him by DV Fischer
Book 2
🐺
I love when books pick right up where the previous one was left off. & with this one it was 2 different characters. Val is absolutely the best: kind, caring, does anything for anyone even if they don’t deserve her kindness. Val has loved Wayne for as long as she can remember but Wayne not so much.. He is the beta to Logan and I will say a good one at that. He is kind, loves his pack members, takes his job seriously but is def a player.

But one night changes everything for the both of them. This storyline is fast paced, action and drama packed. I feel like it was a great finish to the duet but would love to see a storyline about their enforcer! 4 ⭐️

This book starts where Reject Him ended.

Val has had a crush on Wayne for a while, but Wayne hasn't even noticed the signs. Wayne is Logan's Beta and Val she cooks for them. When Val confesses her love for Wayne and he is too intoxicated to remember her feelings get hurt. But when Val and their new Alpha Eme go to the city to shop, they get taken by one of the new Rogues. But now Logan, Wayne, and Draven have to find them before it's too late and so Wayne can tell Val how he truly feels. And while Draven, Wayne, and Becca are searching the city for information on wolfcalm, Draven finds his fated mate by accident. This book is really good.

Val breaks my heart. She’s so sweet. Sadly, she wants an ass that wants nothing to do with her. I hated that she poured her heart out to Wayne thinking he’d reciprocate, but he didn’t remember a dang thing. I truly feel for her. She deserves happiness.
Once again, Emme and Logan. I love these two and I love that they are moving along in their relationship. But the chaos Sri goes in. That wolfcalm is the bane of their existence!
I loved how this book picked right up from the first one. There wasn’t a hitch at all between them. The wiring is excellent. I love all the characters. I hope to read more from Fischer. I’ve absolutely loved this duet.

Book 2 continues where book 1 leaves off at except we are reading Val’s story. Val has been in love with Wayne for a long time but doesn’t feel the same. The second book is quick read but I love how sweet and kind she is. Wayne is a bit of a player and doesn’t really think of others to a degree. There is some action and drama that keeps you glued to the story. We get to see Eme and Logan at times, which I always love when the next book is about side characters from the previous book. It is extremely well written and developed. I loved how it ends and have to say it is a fantastic read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book picks up right where book 1 ended but is about another 2 characters. Our FMC is Val and our MMC is Wayne.
Wayne is Logan's beta and Val is Logan's Cleaner/Chef.
Val has been in love with Wayne for as long as she can remember. Unfortunately, Wayne has no clue. She confesses everything one drunken night and he doesn't remember a thing and doesn't understand why she won't talk to him the next day.

This is a very fast-paced short read with a bit more plot in this than in book 1. Really enjoyed this book.

This is a really cute story that is full of misunderstandings & plenty of desire. Val has loved Wayne for half of her life but Wayne is oblivious. One night they end up together & the next morning Wayne doesn't remember it. Val reactions are totally relatable & Wayne doesn't know what he did or didn't do the night before which causes all kinds of drama between other members of the pack.

This is a different genre than I am used to reading from DV Fischer but I enjoyed it. I wish there were more books with some of these characters because I wasn't ready for this world to end.

Aw I liked this one so much! It is shorter then the first book but I liked because it's about Val and Wayne. I was hoping that I would get a story about them because honestly reading about Val in book one she sounded so sweet. This one is a continuation right after book one so you go from the mating ceremony to everything that happens afterwards. Honest truth Wayne sounds like you need to get his head hit a few times! Clearly he never knew how much Val liked him but everyone else did! This one was such a cute book. Honestly this duet was a quick read and I liked it.

In this book we meet Val and Wayne. Wayne is Logan's beta and Val is the cleaner/chef. Val has liked Wayne for years but was too scared to say anything to him. Wayne is sent on a mission to find out who is selling Wolfcalm in the Rogues. But before he can do that, Logan takes Val and Eme on a shopping trip. Val and Eme end up getting kidnapped by rogues. Wayne and Logan come to the rescue. Definitely recommend reading these books!

UNREQUITED LOVE

If you've read Book 1, Reject Him, you'll want to read Desire Him. Based on a new set of main characters within the same pack, an unrequited love leads to an emotional roller coaster for the pair. With the continued underlying storyline from Book One serving as the backdrop, I found this book quick to read, well written though a little rushed at the end. A guaranteed HEA and concluded storyline, this curvy shifter romance was an enjoyable read.

I loved this half of the duet even more than the other half. I felt so bad for Val but was so impressed with her characters courage to speak her mind and stand up for herself. Watching simple Wayne who respected her and cared for her realize embrace his feeling and become protective and strong for her was drool worthy! A big hunky shifter fighting anyone to get you back and save your life... a romantasy girls biggest dream!

Book 2 of the Brook Mountain Duet, Desire him picks up where Reject Him ended and follows Val and Wayne’s story.
Val is such a sweetie, and living years of unrequited love, you can’t help but feel sorry for her. Like the first book it follows issues surrounding the pack while focusing on Val and Wayne’s struggles.
The ending felt a bit rushed but overall a good addition to the Brook Mountain duet.

This was the perfect ending to the duet, but it left it open for more imo. I loved how fast pace it was and following the typical shifter romance. This book was so sweet because she loved him forever and something happened that made him realize he felt the same way. I read just a perfect shifter romance!

✨ARC READ✨

This duet book set is just 😊😍. The overall plot flows so perfect from one book to the next and it’s a true page turner. With multiple points of view the books blend so perfectly from the first to the second one!

Again not normally a lover of the wolf/alpha/shifter thing but it was so well done it doesn’t over power the plot!

First off Wayne is an idiot and took way too long to realize that Val was it for him!!

Someone is selling drugs(wolfcalm) and the Brook mountain pack is working on finding the source when Eme and Val are kidnapped at the mall, they found a contact to help them locate them, she just ends up being Draven’s fated mate and a rogue wolf.

This book picks up right after book one but focuses on two different characters. We have Wayne, the Beta who every woman is in love with, and Val - the woman who has loved Wayne for so long. One drunken night leads to her confession of feelings but he doesnt remember this the next morning. Wayne is clueless as to why she wont talk to him after that night.

Val had been in love with Wayne for as long as she can remember but he doesn’t feel the same way, or maybe he does t relaize it yet. Val and Eme on a shopping trip when they end up getting kidnapped by rogues. Wayne & Logan come to the rescue it’s only once Val is in danger Wayne realizes he may have feelings for her too.
