This book wasn't too bad, but it was very abrupt in its ending. The point of view is given from the Japanese front of World War II, which is not something I had read much about in my readings of the time period. This gave it a very interesting perspective! The romance was quite quick and somewhat insta-love, then became insta-hate without Imogene knowing all the facts! The cast of characters was quite interesting and it was somewhat easy to relate to them in general. It was a hard book to put down, but a lot of the aspects of it seemed glossed over and abrupt, making it a somewhat disappointing read.
I had to read this for a book report. It's not a bad story. I was actually able to finish it and the books my library have are the really old ones so this was nice to read.
