On the field, his 6’1”, 230-pound physique proved deadly to would-be tacklers prompting Jackson to win the 1985 Heisman Trophy.
Jackson’s agility enabled him to become a two-sport sensation as a pro, playing baseball for the Kansas City Royals while simultaneously playing football for the Los Angeles Raiders.
His legacy and ability to play two professional sports served as an example to those who came after him.
