I love this series of books - they are so informative yet simple. I’ve even reading them with my 4 year old; they’re a great introduction to some big concepts with lots of basic facts.
The book is easy to follow and contains clear, bright illustrations and pictures.
The particular copy I checked out from the library also had a BD-Rom with it. -Good points: BD-Roms are like looking at the book on disc, so of course it contained the text and illustrations. They were clear and easy to read along with. The words are highlighted in yellow as the reader goes along. It also has other interactive features like quick facts, audio clips, video clips, etc. Bad points: The reader was TERRIBLE! He read WAY too slow and was choppy. Most of the audio clips of him reading sounded slightly muffled, too. Kids would be bored to tears listening to this guy's voice.
I read this to my 2 1/2 year old son, and I found it to be very age appropriate. It's difficult to find educational books that grab the attention of preschoolers, and I feel as though this book did.
