When he was a boy, he was poor and hungry. When he was a young man, he was still poor and hungry. He learnt how to steal horses, he learnt how to fight, he learnt how to live - outside the law. Australia in the 1870s was a hard, wild place. Rich people had land, poor people didn't. So the rich got richer, and the poor stayed poor. Some say Ned Kelly was a bad man. Some say he was a good man but the law was bad. This is the true story of Australia's most famous outlaw.

Christine Lindop has written a book of fictitious nonsense. Almost nothing in this book is supported by evidence that is readily available online. It appears she has relied on books written by Kelly fans, which are full of fiction, myths and lies for her research. The book lauds a very serious criminal who murdered three police officers in cold blood, with one of the police chased for 800 metres into the bush and executed at point-blank range with a 12 gauge shotgun to the chest. The police officer involved pleaded with Ned Kelly to be left alone, and he told Kelly that he had 5 young children and his wife was pregnant. Kelly executed him in a cruel and vicious manner. To suggest this is a true story reflects on the integrity of the author. This book should be in the fiction section of the library, as it is not true in any sense. Not a book to be recommended at all.
Was he a fool? A smart man?or just a wild man? Well i think he was a brave man.a very courageous and brave man who didn't want anyone else to experience the problems that he had.he didn't want to kill people ; it wasn't like an interest for him! He had to kill people.for every change at all the period of times , some people had been killed! I'm literally in love with this book and the fact that it ACTUALLY happened made it more interesting and at the same time painful.
this story tell us about ned kelly is the most famous outlaw ,he was poor all the life also he's a good man ,he was help the poor people and the police officer were hate him when anyone stole their hours or cow ,so he learn how steal hours for help his family and poor people.
I'm a huge fan of Ned Kelly but I didn't find this book very good. It's alright for teenage school children, although there are some parts I found to be inaccurate. The questions at the end of the book were goid.
This story is told so well you don't notice it uses only 400 headwords. Still, I was not feeling very receptive to a story of an angry white man with a gun.
