Huge, huge, huge disappointment.

Before Delfines I had read two other of his novels Tuareg and El Perro, and I absolutely loved them. I thought they were incredibly original, raw and out of the box. They had such a powerful impact in my preteen self that I though anything Alberto Vázquez-Figueroa wrote I will devour. Oh was I wrong!

When I finished this book I was horrified.
I couldn't believe the same writer who created those two books I adore so much wrote this…thing, for lack of a better word. There is no quality here anywhere, the story is weak, the characters are bland and I am quite sure I saw a TV movie when I was a kid pretty similar to this book. I swear is like the author suffered a personality transplant or a possession because there is no explanation for the “book” I read, to say it was bad is an understatement.

My heart was in shambles after I finished reading it since I knew it was going to be a long, looooong time, until I could make myself pick up another book from Alberto Vázquez-Figueroa.

Since this book, I have read some more of his work, all from the Cienfuegos series, and although it has amazing reviews in Spain, I wasn't that impressed by those books, they have interesting facts and happenings but they lack enthrallment.

So I guess, I am not much into this writer any more. His books might have better success for young adult readers.

Es un libro corto, increíble y perfecto para leer un finde semana, me gusta que el libro trate los temas de el misterio y la aventura, la codicia y corrupción la supervivencia y la ética, con un final bastante bueno merecido de 5 estrellas

Lectura entretenida. Se inicia con un misterio sobre la aparición de más de un cadáver llevando a la policía y científicos a sospechar sobre el comportamiento de los delfines en aguas mediterráneas. Vázquez F. esboza con este planteamiento de ficción, un escenario de crítica sobre temas más relevantes que entrelazará sobre todo al final del libro. Sin ambages y directo al hilo conductor de la novela como mensaje central. Buena narración con sencillez y sin recovecos.

Buena historia y narración, aunque a diferencia de otros de sus libros este me ha resultado más pesado y lento de leer. si estás pensando leer algo del autor te recomiendo encarecidamente empezar por Kalashnikov, Coltan o Tuareg, son sublimes.
