Westcott Family #2

Never Saw You Coming

Rate this book
- Loch -

I wish I could say it was love at first sight. But I can’t.

Snarky.
Impatient.
Demanding.

Everything about the woman standing next to me was complicated, from her designer clothes to her coffee order. I don’t do complicated unless it comes with a good time. And then it’s only for a night or two, max.

I was more than happy to leave the coffee shop, and her, behind, but neither of us saw what was coming . . .

- Tuesday -

I wish I could say I remember him. But I can’t.

Patient.
Generous.
Handsome.

The same stranger who saved me steps in again when I have nowhere to go and no memory of who I am. He’s broody and rigid, but I see a different side of this gorgeous man and start to realize I’m not the only one who needs saving.

Falling for him wasn’t in my plans, but as I search for answers to my past, I realize that I don’t worry about getting my memory back. My fear is losing my life twice.

"Apricity."
"What does that mean?"
"The warmth of the sun in winter. That’s what you are to me."

I went into this book shortly after reading Harbor’s book, knowing I was likely to fall in love with Loch. There wasn’t much about him in Swear On My Life, so you can call it a gut feeling. And boy, I definitely wasn’t wrong.

"Loch Westcott is the kind of hero I wouldn’t kick out of bed for eating crackers. The crumbs would totally be worth it."
Loch is a lawyer and a workaholic. He works at his dad’s law firm, does a lot of overtime, and essentially has no time for anything—including women. But maybe it’s not that he doesn’t want to find the time to have a personal life; he’s just never had a good enough reason to do it.
And he hates Tuesdays—until this particular one comes along.

"Possession is nine-tenths of the law. Does that make her mine?"
I loved Tuesday, especially her strength. It’s not easy to go through what she’s experiencing right now, and yes, she has Loch’s help, but the way she carries herself throughout the book is amazing. To be honest, I’m a little jealous of her.

"My. My. The language. And that mouth…"
"My mouth can do many things, and I’ve heard zero complaints, especially when it comes to serving others first."

Let’s say their first encounter is not a common one—in fact, I can actually say they don’t like each other much, but there’s chemistry from the get-go (and annoyance too). However, when something happens and Tuesday loses her memory, he’s the only constant thing in her life. And he’s there for her—all of it.

"He’s seen every version of me, including before everything changed, and he stands there looking at me like I’m the sunshine who broke his rainy-day streak."
Their meeting triggers a series of events that will change their lives, and who they are, for the better. Almost as if fate had a way of pushing them together, knowing what was coming, knowing they would need each other, and how much.

"Trust me, Tuesday, there will be no doubt in your mind when I do ask you to come to my bed for that purpose."
Loch’s protective instincts toward her take over, and it only makes him even more perfect. He could walk away; she’s nothing to him, and his life is busy as it is, but he can’t. When he has no choice but to take her home with him, we know how deep he's in. And it’s the stuff of forced proximity dreams.

"You make me lose control. You make me forget who I am."
These two are fire. Everything about them is intense, even the smallest touch or the quickest glance. There’s a depth of feeling and understanding in the way their story unfolds that will pull you in and won’t let you go. Suffice to say, it took me a day to devour this book because I needed to know what came next. I mean, what would happen when she remembered who she used to be? Would there still be a "them"?

"I was afraid you wouldn’t remember me."
"You’re the only one I want to remember."

A lot of stuff happens around them—some good, some bad—but they’re always at the center of everything. And guess what? There were plenty of chances for miscommunication, for added drama, for heartache, and breakup, but Ms. Scott didn’t go there (and thank you for that!) She followed her characters’ stories, and they didn’t need any of it. They just needed each other.

"I can’t imagine my life if you’d chosen to return to the office instead of stopping for coffee that day. Thank you for saving me."
"You got it all wrong, baby. You saved me."

This book is a journey of healing and love. A heartwarming story about a woman who loses herself only to find herself again, and a man who needed to lose himself in her to discover who he really is.

My favorite SL Scott book to date.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.75-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (ARC)

''Maybe we both need saving''

Safety warnings:
- No cheating
- No OW/OM drama
- Amnesia
- Blackmail
- Physical assault
- HEA

When I signed up for this ARC I was not paying much attention to who the MMC would be but once I found it was the older brother of our MMC from ''Swear on My Life'' (which I loved) I was super excited to dive in!

This book takes place after the events of ''Swear on My Life'' and it barely really spoilers anything from that book so if you haven't read it yet don't worry! I do hope if you enjoyed this one that you will go and read the previous book as that story was simply amazing.

I really liked this book but towards the end it lost what I felt was a great amnesia/stranger to lovers’ storyline. That's my only real complain.

We meet Loch a lawyer whose whole life has basically been one big attempt to always succeed in everything he does and never has failed. He barely has a life outside of his office and even less time for relationships. The ones he has are ONS with no emotional attachments.

The two MC's meet by chance at a cafe and things aren't going great as they are both not that nice to each other and she is actually quite grumpy and judgmental. Right after their initial meeting Loch witnesses Tuesday (the name she gave the barista) get mugged and pushed, resulting in her having her head banged up and bleeding. Loch makes the decision to forego the mugger and purse but stay with Tuesday until police and the ambulance show up.

''She's quickly becoming my world''
''The warmth of the sun in winter. That's what you are to me''

I loved Loch, despite his wealth and status he was a truly nice guy, he goes out of his way to help a girl who came out of her mugging with amnesia and no idea who she was, where she came from or even her name. Her purse had all her information and phone. The police have had no missing person’s report come up and nobody recognizes her. Which leaves her vulnerable, but Loch cannot help but want to help her and keep her safe until she can find something that connects back to her life before the incident.

We don't really know who Tuesday truly is, all we got from her ''original'' self was the initial meeting with Loch and she doesn't leave a great impression, but her amnesia self is a sweetheart.

I figured out a few things when we started getting some reveals and I wasn't shocked by WHY she was not in the missing persons database, or nobody came forward.

Like I mentioned before, once things became clearer about her past and life, it lost its steam for me but I'm sure it won't be the same for everyone.

All in all, I did finish this in a day, so I obviously enjoyed it!

Did we also get a hint of the next couple? The youngest brother and a certain someone! I was shocked when she revealed something about her relationship as I didn’t see it coming! Can’t wait to read about Noah!

bruh I would give this 0 star if I could. she was more concerned about fucking the hero she JUST MET than the fact that she got boinked and lost her memories. tf was this:

“Chuckling, he says, “It’s not your money I’m after.”

“What are you after?” Please say my body. Though if he says my heart, I’m okay with that as well.

HUHHHHHHHHHHHH?

oh and the girl had amnesia right and the guy hired a PI to find out who she really was without telling her bc the detectives were useless. he then hid the result from her bc he didn't want to lose her even tho she was DESPERATE to know ab her previous life, she caught him w the file one time and asked him:

“Do you know who I am?”

AND this motherfucker had the AUDACITY to say:

“Yes.” I swallow down the lump in my throat. “Since the moment I saw you at the hospital when you walked out. I know your heart, Tuesday. I know your soul.” My throat feels dry when I add, “I know who you are. You’re the woman I love.”

BRUUUUUUUUUUUUH

also they said i love yous within like a week of knowing each other....mind you the girl had amnesia so who was he in love with really??? and then it just got even worse from there......NEVER AGAIN

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: amnesia, forced proximity
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥.5

Loch Wescott is working himself into the ground. His whole life revolves around success at work and making his family proud of him. He doesn't have time for emotional entanglements, but it's likely because he hasn't met anyone with whom he wants to become entangled. Loch first meets "Tuesday" at the coffee shop, minutes before she gets mugged. It was not a good impression. She was haughty, snarky, and impatient, but after it's become evident that Tuesday has lost her memory and no one has "claimed" her, he doesn't feel like he can just leave her on her own. Never Saw You Coming is in the same world as Swear On My Life and is a complete standalone.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and I liked both the characters and felt invested in them. The premise was interesting and definitely held my attention. I think my only difficulty in the book was that it felt really emotional and angsty - more so than the situations dictated, so I felt like there was a big build up coming, but felt it fizzled just a bit for me. I did enjoy how the ending played out and the twists and turns along the way. Definitely interested in reading Noah's book :)

2 1/2 stars. This is a hard one for me to review. I read book 1 from this series and really enjoyed it, so I was happy to read book 2 (this story) It hooked be right away, but then I struggled. I skimmed a good portion, between the 30% -60% mark of the book. I just couldn't care about Tuesday and Loch's relationship. I started skimming at their first sex scene, and all their "naughy" and "good girl" stuff that just came across as icky cheesy to me. I honestly only kept ready because I was interested in getting Tuesdays full story, her past and all of that. That was what had me round up to 3 stars, instead of down to 2 stars. I'm unsure if I will keep going with book 3 at this time.

Let me start by saying I love Ms. Scott's books: best i ever had and we were once. However, I really had a hard time finishing this book. Sadly to say I find it boring. It was sort of insta-love that made it a bit ridiculous at the start. How can they fall in love within a week?

I didn't connect with the MCs. Never felt excitement or tension with their budding romance. Even the spicy scenes didn't do it for me. It was so flat and I'm actually frustrated why I couldn't love this book unlike her other works.

On the good side, I admire how both of their families are so loving and there's no toxicity involved. I really liked that there's no third breakup act and how much they are head over heels for each other.

Me not liking this book is solely based on my preference and opinion. Others might like it, this one just really didn't do it for me.

This book hooked me from the first page and on every page until the end.

Loch was so much drama at first, and so angry. But then he couldn't help but be drawn in when the girl from the coffee bar was mugged. The one with her own drama.
And he knew the right thing to do was help.
And help he did.
Going from a guy with no time on his hands, meeting Tuesday post-hospital turned him around.
And made everybody fall for the new guy he turned into.

I loved this book!!! So much emotion and the plot had enough angst to be a page-turner.
Now off to read the others in this series!

Tuesday and Lochs story starts in a coffee shop… she’s animated with her super complicated order, Loch just wants his cup so he can get back to being the big time lawyer he is. Except when Tuesday is mugged, he’s compelled to stick by her side.. in more ways than one. I really enjoyed their story. How they end up being there for each more than they expect. Of course there’s little twists but their growth was so beautifully written. ❤️

It has been a long time since I’ve read an amnesia story, and this one was so terrific!

A “meet antagonistic” in a coffee shop leads to a change of life for both Loch and Tuesday. Loch is painted as this workaholic who treats romance as a transactional pastime, but with Tuesday we see a completely different side to him.

Loch the lawyer has zero vulnerability and Tuesday is all vulnerability, having no one and nothing to her name. Or lack of name. Is it even Tuesday? I loved how Loch stepped up for her and really took care of her even when there wasn’t anything in it for him. And then slowly but surely we do see the vulnerability in him. As he is afraid of finding out who she really is because maybe he won’t fit in her life anymore.

Loved the bit of intrigue too! Although the Clark storyline was a teeny bit out there for me. Maybe because I don’t run in the billionaire circles!

Great story about finding love when you least expect it and trusting in it no matter what!

Oh My! This was so good! It's been a LONG time since I've read an amnesia plot romance. But this hit all my feel good marks and made me wish for more. Tuesday and Loch needed each other in so many ways. It was wonderful watching them fall in love while both of them potentially had so much to lose.

I appreciate literally nothing more than a book that doesn’t drag on and on before getting to anything mildly interesting. This book starts off putting you right in the midst of the story and I was hooked.

There was a little part around 75% that bored me but otherwise I really loved this so much. I love how fiercely Loch and Tuesday love each other. How quickly Loch goes from the lone playboy bachelor to a cinnamon roll overnight (didn’t waste my time with him fighting it for half the book thank god).

And thank heavens for that Belinda, you little matchmaker ❤️

Never Saw You Coming by S.L.Scott is a very special and unique love story. Tuesday found Loch when she was lost and she just turned his life upside down. Loch is dream book boyfriend from every side. This gorgeous, charming, protective and larger than life alpha hero can only exist in pages of a romance novel. Their love story was unconventional and heartfelt with epic chemistry.

Attorney Lochlan Westcott saves the beautiful woman from an attack outside the coffee shop where they just had a witty encounter. Now she has amnesia from the concussion. She remembers nothing and all her belongings were taken away by the mugger. Loch feels a strange pull and overwhelming sense of protectiveness towards Tuesday. The name he gave her as the batista called by that name. Tuesday feels so lost and unbalanced. Loch has burrowed inside her heart. But what will happen when her real identity comes out? Will Loch lose her?

Loch has been living a life of obsessive workaholic but Tuesday just changed his life. He found himself constantly thinking about her and his feelings towards her. He rescued her and he was going all the way to keep her safe and happy. Not only her material needs, he was there for her emotional needs too. He is seriously so perfect. Swoony all the way. But he can also be a dirty talking , bossy dominating man in bedroom. As I said, the perfect combination. Tuesday had a difficult journey. She cannot remember anything. No one is searching for her. This strange man is taking care of her. It's like the slate of her life has been cleaned and she is starting fresh. They were a beautiful match. Their witty banter, their explosive chemistry, their deep devotions..but her past came barelling back. I felt the pace of this story was a bit off. The sweet and nice moments were taking up most of the story. The drama and angst came towards the end and a lot were packed in a small space. The amnesia trope has a lot scope of bringing heartbreak and angst but here it wasn't so. I expected a lot more angst. It felt like a fairytale romance where prince charming rescues the damsel in distress and he spends his life trying to make her happy and safe.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Tuesday and Loch's story. They met before but don’t really know each other. That is until he saves her. He takes her in and is helping her as she has amnesia. Can he help get her memories back or will her past make sure that does not happen? He was a workaholic until she entered his life now, he puts what she needs first. Changes him in ways he never thought would happen. But in the end makes him a better person. Can they build a future together with things so out of control?

I recommend this book.

***ARC Provided by the Author ***

I'm not sure where I thought Loch and Tuesday's story was going to go, but I wanted it to go pretty much as it did.

I was intrigued by the blurb and drawn in almost immediately when I started reading.

When I read books when one of the characters isn't sure who they are, I often doubt that they will want to remain once the memory returns, but this one left no doubt at all.

I believed in them as a couple and I believed that they were strong enough to make it no matter what the return of her memory brought them. All I'll say is I'm glad I believed it as it made the entire story into a fabulous read.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

3.25 Stars

This is pretty much a 3 Star read for me story-wise but I'm adding an extra .25 there since my enjoyment level went up a notch due to the fact that I experienced this book through audiobook and the narrators were phenomenal - thus, sort of making the book itself a tad bit better.

I think the romance was a slightly too insta- for me making it not so very believable haha. And the whole amnesia aspect of it was a little bit far-fetched. Also, I was more into the first half of the story but towards the second half, I started to feel all "meh" about it. Here's to hoping the other siblings get better stories.

"I might be taking advantage of the situation, but I kiss her twice on the cheek and then on her forehead, selfishly wanting her to wake with me so I can have more of her."

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

My first S.L. Scott book was Best I Ever Had. I loved that book. So, needless to say, I was excited to jump in to another one of her stories. Since this was just released, I jumped right on in.

It got off to a great start. I love how these two meet. He saves her and can't stop thinking about her. When he finds out she has amnesia, he wants to do everything in his power to keep her safe.

What I like about Scott's writing style is she writes sweet, swoon-worthy heroes. And, Loch was just that. He was smitten with Tuesday from the start. They both were. They both found something in each other to change them for the better. This is insta-love at it's finest. Maybe too much so in this case. Their relationship forms very fast.

What I normally enjoy in stories, low angst/low drama, this book delivers on, but with that said, there was really nothing else happening either. I got bored with the story, to the point by the time Tuesday was on her way to figure out her past, I wasn't interested anymore.

This one fizzled out for me, but I will most definitely try more of her books. I do like her writing, I just think I wasn't the target audience for this one.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

It takes a lot to get my attention, and she’s managed to do it twice for different reasons—annoying and sexy.

Out of all the people in New York City, how did I end up with this man being my hero? Luckiest damsel in distress ever.

“When are you going to stop trying to save me?”
“When you no longer need me."

She feels so right, and when her arms wrap around me, her cheek resting on my chest, I realize I was wrong. Asking her to be here isn’t my fatal flaw. The thought of her leaving is.

Am I a “good girl” kind of lady? Do I like this? I’m not sure about “before” me, but “now” me definitely likes this, especially with Loch.

It’s freeing to feel this light. This must be how other people feel about Fridays. I feel it about Tuesday.

When I see her smile, my whole world shifts in that instant. She’s not just the woman I met a few days ago or someone who could change my whole world. She’s quickly becoming my world.

“How are you doing?”
“So good. You?”
“Apricity.”
“What does that mean?” she whispers.
“The warmth of the sun in winter. That’s what you are to me.”
“That’s beautiful.”
“Like you.”

“But you’ve cleared your schedule and opened your life up to me.”
“You gave me a good reason. I knew what I would miss if I let you slip away.”
“Which is?”
“A chance to have a life.”

“What if I was brought into your life to help you remember who you really are, just like you were brought into mine?”
“Maybe we both needed saving.”

I’m not just arm candy or a woman simply joining the family for dinner. I’m heart candy to him.

“I forced my way into your life on some whim that makes no sense on any level to any rational person.” “And fell madly in love with you."

When she moans again, I move to her shoulder and start fucking her. No texts. I fuck. No calls. I fuck. Angry with the world because I know I can't have her forever. I fuck.

“Dreams change.”

I love her . . . more than I ever thought possible to love another, and all because of six words. Words that changed my life tonight. “I trust you with my life." Those six words just changed my life forever.

I might be taking advantage of the situation, but I kiss her twice on the cheek and then on her forehead, selfishly wanting her to wake with me so I can have more of her.

“And unfortunately, I wasted too much time watching you sleep. I won’t make that mistake again."

Loch and Tuesday's story was a doozy! Their first meeting was… well, not so great. She was rude, mean, and entitled. But Tuesday's life literally changed in a flash when she was mugged just minutes after exchanging barbs with Loch in a coffee shop. She fell, hit her head, and woke up not remembering anything about who she was.

Despite the awful first impression, Loch played white knight for Tuesday, caring for her and helping her figure out her life when she had nothing and no one else. Loch came to rescue his damsel in distress, but in many ways, Tuesday saved him as well with her sudden immersion in his life. A workaholic attorney, he learned to laugh and relax with her around, enjoy the simple pleasures, and think about what his personal life looked like in the future for once.

But when they discover who Tuesday really is, will it make their glass bubble burst?

I really enjoyed this story. Most of it is Loch and Tuesday getting to know each other and falling in love. The revelation about her past doesn't come into play until the last 25% or so -- and I confess that my suspicions were dead wrong! I also enjoyed the friendship Tuesday and Lark (Swear On My Life) built, and loved catching up with Lark and Harbor. I look forward to seeing what comes next for the other Wescott siblings!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Never Saw You Coming S.L. SCOTT

Those Wescott boys sure do leave you with  massive BBF withdrawal! OMG - Loch Wescott is high up there on my list of Best Book Boyfriends EVER!  Loch and Tuesday's story was heart-felt and emotional, and will live in the recesses of my brain for many days to come.

I loved the instant connection this couple felt. The pull they had to each other, even when they didn't know why and denied it for way too long, was perfect for setting the foundation of their beautiful relationship.

The playful banter between Loch and Tuesday that built up their sexual tension was HOT, HOT, HOT!  The time they took to ease into being MORE was perfectly paced. This story kind of proves that looking for love doesn't always pan out. Love finds you when you least expect it; when you're not even looking. You'll never see it coming, but it'll bowl you over like a steam truck when the time is right.

Every chapter of this story kept me interested in what was yet to come. The mystery behind who Tuesday was and what struggles they would face was very enticing. Watching Loch change for the better with Tuesday by his side was basically epic.  A true fairy tale romance.

When you're in the mood for love that just makes you feel AMAZING , has enough HEAT to dampen your panties, and sets your heart SOARING , you can't go wrong with Never Saw You Coming by S. L. Scott.

Loch Westcott is a lawyer who works at his family's law office, in New York City. He tries to be this big business straightlaced type. But, he's fallen fast for Tuesday.

Tuesday, has amnesia. Loch was with her when someone took her purse and she slammed her head into a building. Loch has been fantastic with her, taking care of her, putting her up at his hotel then at his place, getting her clothes. He doesn't know her at all, but he's bent over backwards to help her.

Tuesday feels horrible because she can't remember anything. She can 'sense' she likes museums, or eating Italian, but she can't remember who she is. She wants to but, at the same time, she's getting comfortable with not knowing, and just being with Loch.

We've already met Loch's brother - Harbor and his wife Lark in Swear On My Life. Lark helps Tuesday with her medical questions and her exams.

I did receive a free ARC book copy. I am freely leaving an honest review.

Such an enjoyable ride. I liked that there weren't any ridiculous conflicts and any conflicts were handled quickly.

Loch was such a sweet hero, who fell first! We see a glimpse into his manwhore-ish past but it's not something that dominates his character. He truly cares for Tuesday and wants to help her. Tuesday was a great heroine and so likeable. I thought she was tough and also so vulnerable and sweet. Their banter was so great! I loved that we got to see so much of them together.

I liked the pacing of the story and that there is not a third act break up...yayyyy.

Overall, such a funny, sweet and slightly spicy love story. All about what would you do if you had a second chance...and can your plans change??

New-to-me author and new-to-me trope! This was a fast-paced read of how Tuesday and Loch came to be, from the unknown of their true selves to finding their true HEA.
To be fair, I've never before read any amnesia-related trope, and this one was a win for me! From the gorgeous cover to how the story unfolded, the book kept me curious and interested until the end!

POV: Dual
Cheating: No

One fateful day I guess we can call it Loch meet’s Tuesday. Although if you asked him at the time it wasn’t fateful that they met. However after a mugging and hitting her head a well as having a concussion, Tuesday ends up with amnesia. Loch felt a pull to her that he couldn’t explain after he helped save her. It was their destiny to meet, fall in love and for Tuesday to get her memories back.

Loch Westcott is a dream 😍

Loch and "Tuesday" meet one Tuesday afternoon at a coffee shop, and exchange some unpleasantries before seperating. Not far from the coffee shop, Loch withnesses Tuesday in a mugging, and she is knocked unconscious. He rushes to tey and stop the attack, and goes with her to the hospital.

The next day, she wakes ,but has no memory of who she is. Loch, being the dreamboat he is, helps her recover.

Loch is your typical bachelor billionaire, not wanting a relationship and only has flings and one night stands. Taking in Tuesday and invested in helping her figure out who she is and what to do next, feelings change from strangers to lovers. The attraction is undeniable when he sees the softer, less abrasive side of Tuesday.

I loved seeing their story unfold and the drama that comes when Tuesday finds out her past and who is really is/was.I did not see coming(see what I did there). Loch was there for the entire journey.

Perks of being sick: bingeing this in pretty much one day.

I read this series in ascending order (someone should fix that, I get they’re all standalones but they ARE connected) and I guess it took me some time to get used to the writing bc I loved this one!!!

Amazing read- loved Loch and Tuesday.
She loses her memory and he is just sort of there to help her.
He finds a life in her and she finally discovers what her life was before Loch

Loch, oh man! All other hero’s will now be judged against him! This man was the perfect amount of growly, broody, and sweet savior! He came across at first as a playboy, but quickly you saw just how honorable, sweet and caring this man could be! I absolutely loved everything about these two even their not so cute meet cute!

Tuesday! Wow this woman has lived a life that some would envy, but at the heart of who she was, she had nothing! Her life shattering moment came at a time when fate knew she needed saving! The chains of events that brought these two together was all by chance but all happened right when it needed too!

Their love and bond saved each other and I am speechless with how well Scott weaved it all together! So many twists, surprises and all of it was absolute perfection!!
