In Book 3 of the Sherlock Jones, Jr. Detective Series, Ed Dunlop’s mystery book, Sherlock The Missing Diamond, has seventh-graders Jasper "Sherlock" Jones and Penny Gordon using their detective skills and their Christian faith to identify a software pirate at Diamond Computer Technology. Then they turn their skills toward helping solve the kidnapping of the company owner’s daughter, their new friend, Lisa Diamond―the truly valuable diamond―in this Christian fiction adventure. Related mystery books include Sherlock The Assassination Plot, Sherlock The Willoughby Bank Robbery, and Sherlock The Phantom Airplane.
I personally love detective stories, the ones cases have to be solved, so Sherlock Holmes is one of my favourites, always using that part of the brain that most of us usually don't. Solving these riddles is fun, though this book is for a younger audience.
Another great story from the Sherlock Jones, Junior Detective Series, this one a kidnapping mystery. A well-written plot, fun characters, and a good mystery make up this book, and I highly recommend it to mystery lovers 10+.
I really enjoyed this book, and I thought its title was great as well. I liked how it brought the situation of money and being rich to a point. I liked how it went back to the Bible and showed that money isn’t everything we should want. But we should trust in the Lord and His provision to take care of us.
Penny learns that rich people have problems, can be good friends, can love and serve and witness for Jesus as she partners with Sherlock Jones to solve two mysteries, including the discovery of who kidnapped Lisa Diamond and where she could be found. Thanks, Reader!
