How can this be?! Seung-Suh is trapped in Yoon-Jin's brillant plot, and it seems like there's no way to escape. Thinking it might be better to face the problem rather than run from it, Seung-Suh goes and apologizes to Mi-Ha . . . only to be flattened by her mighty punch! Will this really be the end between the two of them? Will the plot of Yoon-Jin's really work?!
A fun and silly manwha with some romantic tones to it. Only 5 volumes - makes for a quick read. Between 3-4 stars, but it makes me laugh enough that I reread it every so often, so worth rounding up.
The story itself isn't particularly unique - the tomboy h (Mi-Ha) and the tough bishonen H (Seung-Suh). Lots of spats and bickering eventually building to something more as they get to know each other through crazy high school and family antics. While not totally unique, it's still a lot of fun. The humor is pretty silly and a touch tongue-in-cheek - never really takes itself too seriously.
Volume 4 is all about Yun-Jin's Mean Girl plotting to break apart Mi-Ha and Seung-Suh, the fall-out of her plot, and the eventual reconciliation. Probably my least favorite volume of the series, just because I'm not a fan of evil Mean Girl plotting in general, but especially when there's no retribution or comeuppance (I mean, seriously! Mi-Ha just forgives her, even though she tore up Mi-Ha's heart, and could have destroyed Seung-Suh's life!). There's also a rather odd short story of Seung-Suh's past and how he met Mu-Jin.
Part of what keeps it at 3-4 stars for me (instead of 4 solid) is the art. Parts are really pretty, parts are just fun and silly, and then there are parts that just don't strike my fancy. Mostly the faces straight-on - the eyes just aren't my taste - wall-eyed? Can't put my finger on it exactly, but there you go.
If you've been following the series so far, you know where this volume will more than likely be heading. If you haven't been following the series then I suggest that you start from the beginning- you'll get horribly lost if you try to pick this series up with the next to last volume.
Love is never easy for the teens in this school. When Seung-Suh gets trapped in one of Yoon-Jin's schemes, he's in danger of not only losing Mi-ha but also getting kicked out of school! Seung-Suh tries to explain himself to Mi-Ha but only ends up on the end of a near-death experience that results with Mi-Ha removing herself from life in general. Her family decides that a trip to a wintery vacation spot is just what Mi-Ha needs to pick her up, but when a phone call changes her perspective on everything & a fight leaves her & Yoon-Jin stranded in the snow, can these kids make it to another day?
This volume was unbearably cute in several ways. Mi-Ha's antics are always fun to read about- especially when her brother confesses about some of the training he's had her do throughout childhood. Another fun spot was when Seung-Suh's mother starts dating again... to a famous film director named "Silent Bob"! (I can't help but wonder if Kevin Smith is aware of this- I think he'd get a kick out of it.) Best of all though is the drama- it's well plotted & highly entertaining, although some might get a little irritated that everything is wrapped up relatively quickly.
If you've enjoyed the series so far or if you've liked Baek Hye-Kyung's adaptation of the Gossip Girl series then you're sure to enjoy this series!
