Truth or Dare #3

All I Want for Christmas Is Them

Rate this book
Dear Santa, I want them both.

All I want is one perfect night before Christmas with my best friend and my girlfriend.

Naomi is stunning, vibrant, and as wild as she is beautiful.

Diego is my rock, my loyal companion, and my best friend for life.

We'll celebrate, and I’m going to savor every minute. Because this Christmas might be my last.

Note from the This is a spin-off novel from Truth or Dare series. Otto is all grown up, falling in love, and getting into trouble. You don't have to read the Truth or Dare Duet first, but it's highly recommended as it contains major plot spoilers. This book has Christmas shenanigans, steamy MMF scenes (and m/m scenes), and a gut-punch of feels.

Soul Mates

We've fast forwarded about eighteen years into the future to find Kenzi, Donovan, and Jason still going strong-ish... kinda (we'll come back to that)... and Otto is all grown up. While we frequently see his parents and they get several chapters dedicated to them and their struggles, this is mostly Otto's story. More specifically, it's Otto, Naomi, and Diego's tale. A very beautiful MMF story, at that. 🔥❤🔥🤗🔥❤

It's fun and exciting. It's emotional - ugly cry emotional - and draining. It's love and heat with plenty of heart - in various shapes and sizes - that is messy and dirty and amazing! I love that there also some wildly laughable moments, such as the toy and the broken phone or this exchange:

“Come,” [Naomi says]. “I need skin.”
“Spoken like a serial killer,” Diego says.
😂😂

As for the parentals, they've been having a hard time dealing with a loss and it's eating at their relationship a bit. The love never leaves but they cope in different, sometimes opposite, ways and it leaves a mark. I love how the ugly truth of their predicament isn't skirted around and even though they have given the requested space, they find a way to break through. ❤🔥❤

I’ve finally found the downside to polyamory. Too much food sharing.
-- Otto Stratton 😄❤🤗

Reading the prior books in the series is a nice-to-have but this can be read as a standalone. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Dnf 35% no rating. There's no emotional connection between the three MCs. I feel nothing (nothing positive, lol).

A quote...
Otto says: "Ride him". I whimper and obey. I'm a bad bitch in the streets - but for Otto? I'll be his submissive slave in the sheets.

I feel like it should just focus on one couple not 2. Like just make a book three for Ottos parents.

This book wasn't the most enjoyable but I still read it.

These Christmas books are the best, and Adora Crooks is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers.

We saw Otto in the 2nd book of the Truth or Dare series when he was a young boy. That was when we met Matteo, too. When Otto needed a kidney in the previous book, one of his father's, Donovan, gave it to him. It was a loving gesture, but one that turned Otto's life upside down. He doesn't want to give up that kidney, because then he feels like he would lose a piece of Donovan. He calls him Dad, but he isn't his biological father. So he hides his current diagnosis with the help of Matteo.

You could see the love Otto had for Naomi, but he was holding it back. You could see the love he had for Matteo, and again he was holding back. Except for that one beautiful night that the three of them got together.

I loved that Adora brought back her other characters of Donovan, Jason & Kenzi. Their love started all of this and it was so appropriate that the Christmas season brought them back together.

I don't want to spoil too much, because I think you should get to laugh, and love, and cry right along with these characters.

Phenomenal and Emotional
So, I binged the entire Truth or Dare series, concluding with this story, and wow, it is some ride. I felt absolutely invested in the characters (tears were definitely shed at points when things were looking grim). There was just so much feeling between Otto, Diego and Naomi, plus having read about the boys as kids, made me feel like I was part of the family. I definitely recommend reading the Truth or Dare duet first - it’s not necessarily, but it makes the story experience so much richer.

This book takes place over about ten days during the Christmas and New Year's holidays. This author crams a lot into a short period of time making some events feel rushed to the point of not feeling realistic, but I still enjoyed it and the emotional ride this book takes us on.

Writer Otto Stratton never stays in a relationship long but he's been seeing Naomi for six months. Having two dads and one mom is nothing new to him, and since Naomi has shown interest in a possible triad, it isn't a huge surprise when he pulls his best friend Diego into their relationship. But it is a surprise when he begins to distance himself from both of them. And then the worst happens.

Otto's triad parent's relationship also plays a huge place in this book as their relationship is going through some major growing pains after a tragedy struck earlier in the year.

I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.

4.5/5 - Slight spoiler, it is a HEA. Thankfully. I don’t think I could have handled any losses from the two core relationship crews/throuples. It is a solid continuation of the series.

I love this book. It’s the perfect miracle anyone could have asked for life and family. I love this heartwarming funny family, who have added new members. Absolutely love that this story flowed effortlessly. I have to say that Otto truly embodies all of his parents. It’s that love that brings him into his own relationship with Naomi and Diego. I do admire his love for Donovan, but I was scared that it almost cost him his life and the 2 people he love dearly. A selfless can be blinding at times to what truly matters. Most of all I love the growth of Jason, Kenzi and Donovan. Above all I adore Joan she truly is the glue that keeps her family together.

All I want for Christmas is Them - The Truth or Dare series book 3

I loved this story. I had heard of one man having six wives earlier somewhere in Texas. Never one woman with two husbands living happily together in the same home. Adorable Crooks is a very talented writer. I love her stories and devour her books when they come on line.
Try this one. It opens your eyes and your mind. Enjoy.

This was a really nice follow on from the truth and dare series and to see otto Kenzie son grown and having his own life and still dealing with his past health, it was weird at the start cause I kept seeing a twelve year boy but has I kept reading it I'd adjusted to the fact that he had grown up and following his family trait this was very good read

Fantastic read! I love how it brings in Kenzi, Donovan and Jason from the other books in the Truth or Dare series. Giving them their own little story line within. The main story is Otto Naomi and Diego. There is so much crammed into this book. It flows so well I could not believe how quick I read it. I got lost in the story. It elicits so many emotions. I cried and laughed and just felt the overall love of these characters. This is a must read.

I liked Naomi and Diego, but I’m on the fence about Otto. I am personally of the opinion that he have a very half hearted apology and was very manipulative, which I don’t really love for my mmc’s or fmc’s. We were given a good glimpse into Otto’s family and some of his background.

This book was much more emotional than I could've predicted. Otto is such a sweetheart and I loved how he could read people and act differently to suit the needs of each individual. Diego had some surprises and Naomi was just awesome. I loved their dynamics and their chemistry was just off the charts sizzling. Add in Otto's parents and I am so surprised that my Kindle didn't burn up with the steam generated! I thought this story was so entertaining and enjoyable to read!

Disappointed because this book felt insta-lovey and it was so different in quality from the first two. The story immediately jumped into physical over emotional connections and the pacing felt really rushed.

I cant stress this enough, this book had 6 SEPARATE POVS! It was supposed to be Otto’s story and his relationship with Naomi and Diego but half of it was marital issues his parents (Kenzi, Jason and Donovan) had and details on their work lives. The entire plot was such a clash between 2 separate poly relationships being explored and it didn’t mesh well. In Otto’s book we got 2 smut scenes of his parents… that was so unnecessary.

I also really didn’t like Naomi. At the start she was kind of cool but then the day Otto went into the hospital, she left, she KISSED HIS DAD (Jason) and then spent the night making out with Diego. Absolutely not. 1.5 stars

I really enjoyed this book! It was such a fun, heart-felt read. Even though I haven’t read the rest of the series, the characters were so well written that I felt their connection. I loved their dynamic and chemistry. The perfect Christmas romance! I can’t wait to go back and pick up the other books by this author.

Okay, let’s be honest… this book is very smutty, but it’s also incredibly wholesome. I was genuinely surprised by how many heavy topics it touches on and how wise its final message is. No, the prose didn’t sweep me off my feet, and neither did the structure of the book itself, but once I finished reading, I felt… well, exactly how I think a holiday book is supposed to make you feel.

This is a novella under 200 pages, yet it manages to address grief after losing a family member or friend, living with chronic illness, choosing love above all else, and accepting the consequences that come with that choice. While the writing isn’t particularly poetic, I still found the story touching and emotionally sincere.

The book is a standalone novella within an interconnected series, and I read it without having read any of the previous installments. I don’t think that’s an issue. Even though the story is told from multiple POVs (including characters from earlier books) the author provides enough context to make everything understandable.

Overall, I’d recommend this book to readers with a high smut tolerance. It includes multiple explicit scenes within a polyamorous relationships, but without the constant “thinking about s*x every second” vibe. If you’re looking for a wholesome holiday read with depth beneath the spice, this one is worth your time. Even if it wasn’t particularly beautiful to me prose-wise, I enjoyed the experience and don’t regret picking it up.
