This book is about student bring in a penny a day until they read the 100th day. Once it got to ten they counted and student brought in 10 pieces of something, once it got to twenty they counted and a student brought in 20 pieces of something and so on until 100. The students in this book were also different races so it is a very inclusive book. Once they got 100 pennies they sent the money to a place that had just had a natural disaster occur. I would include this in my library.

This book was a cute story about going to school for 100 days! My daughter loves books about school, and this one was no exception!

This book also teaches counting as the kids bring things to school each day until they eventually get to 100. This is a great book for school-ages children, especially ones in Kindergarten.

If your looking for inspiration for making your hundredth day celebrations about giving to others, this is it! I like how the teacher celebrates by counting in increments of ten too.

One-hundred School Days is a cute story about children in a young classroom who are learning to count. One the first day of school, the narrator is chosen to put one penny in a jar to represent day one. Each day, another student adds a penny. Every ten days, one student brings that many of an object to share with the class. On the hundredth day, all of the students bring in one hundred of some type of snack. The class mixes the snacks together and they all share. The teacher then tells the class that all of the pennies they have added to the jar are going to help people affected by the hurricane.

One way I would use this book in my classroom is to teach my kindergartens how to count by ones and tens to one hundred. A way to demonstrate this would be to have beans represent the ones place and cups to represent the tens place. They would use the book to help them count the beans aloud.

This was a pretty good book... it was neat how the teacher started helping the class with the 1st day of school count down the days of school with pennies in a jar and in the end donating the money. And throughout the book the children would bring 10, 20, 30 etc amount of things when that day came up and shared with the class.

I good helpful 'counting' book as there are pictures of the items the kids bring in (20 matchbox cars, 40 leaves etc) I took advantage of them and practiced counting to 10 with my 2 year old grandbaby pointing to each item as we counted. So youcan use this book in a variety of ways with the nicely illustrations it has.

I'd only recommend this to a child learning to count. Otherwise it's going to get boring. Julia's been counting for years now and I didn't actually look through the story before bringing it home. Had I known it was a "counting" book I would have passed on it.
It's not a counting book like the usual though - this is slightly different which is always a good thing when you're just starting to open a child up to the world of numbers and counting.

Great diverse cast of school children and adults, and a great way to reinforce counting by 10's and to 100, which is what we are working on right now with our 4 year old. And there are a lot of fun pictures of items your child can count (For 90, there is a 90-piece jigsaw puzzle pictured, and I was very impressed that it actually had 90 pieces even though it was only half put together and so pieces were scattered everywhere!).

100 School Days teaches kids to count by 10's to 100. For every tenth day of school, a different student brings in that number of items to share with the class. I thought this was a fun idea to someday incorporate this into a classroom while teaching children counting by 10's to 100. I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would because the way idea the author suggests to teach numbers is unique and fun.

Every year in elementary school, we always celebrated the 100th day of school. This book would be great to go along and read on the 100th day. Students bring in 100 pennies, 100 ballons, 100 toy cars, etc. You could have students bring in a 100 of something to share with the class, just like they did in the book!

There are so many things you can do with this book in Kindergarten and First grade. Because 100 days of school is always a big event, you can use it to teach students how to count to 100 by 1's and 10's in so many ways. You can also correlate activities to make it more fun and still have students learn to count.

This could be used on the 100th day of school. It would be used to give ideas of what 100 things children could bring to count. The Kindergarten classroom I was in for my internship used 100 counting bears to count. The kids had fun. Children could also practice counting by 10s or 5s.

A book that counts the school days. This book counts by ten's to 100. This can be used to teach students to count to 100 by ten's and do the activity done in book by Mrs. Madoff's classroom where students brought in 100 things on the 100th day of school *

This is a great book to use with 3rd- 5th grade math students.

On the hundredth day of school students bring in different items. This book works on grouping the 100 objects into different number groups as well as counting to 100.

100 School days is about a classroom who celebrates the days as they count to get to the 100th day of school. I could use this book by helping to count by tens in my second or first grade class during math.

A fun way to mark the 100th for kinders. Lots of fun demonstrations of numbers, and not just the numbers of food treats in bags of varying sizes. And it ends with a fun way to use the 100 pennies they collected.

Students count the days by tens until the 100th day of school for a celebration. First grade noticed the pattern quickly and especially enjoyed the 100 pieces of snacks at the end!
