If your kid loves dogs, this could get them loving books just as much.
I have a reluctant reader. He's not often motivated to read independently. That changed when he found this series. He read his first six chapter books completely on his own this summer. All of them were from The Puppy Place Series.
The series centers around a brother and sister who foster dogs from a local animal shelter. Together with their parents, they find the perfect home for each dog. With each book a new breed of dog is introduced with fun anecdotes that give the reader insight into the breed's temperament and personality.
The stories have an obvious formula but are different enough to make each one interesting to a young dog lover.
Any child who is a fan of puppies will really enjoy these Puppy Place books! I read Cody about a lively dalmation rescued by The Peterson's. Lizzie takes charge finding Cody a new home and training him to be a better pup.
This is a great series. I love the books about all the different puppies. Cody and Honey are two of my favorites. I would definatly recommended this book to others.
