This was a elementary school book from 1951 I just wanted to get rid of but then started reading. The story was predictable but good. I would have to say it's pretty racist and demeaning to Indians, and if it's common among books from 1951, it explains some things.

Happy to have found this book. I can see myself returning to the library at Wilmot Elementary School in Evergreen, CO every several months to reread this beloved book.
