This was a good read. Kayla was visiting her cousins in California. They take her to a party. This is where she meets Nick. They hit it off until a misunderstanding happens and someone decides to blackmail her. Luckily in the end everything works out and they get their happy ending.

Turning a Role of Protector into a Reality of Love

It's brilliantly written with extraordinary characters and a fascinating storyline that captures the audience from the beginning until the end. This is Kayla and Nick story. Nick is a famous Hollywood hot heartthrob he goes to a Halloween party dressed as the character he portray in his movie in hopes that he will not be recognized. Kayla is small town young woman twenty four years old, and very sheltered of the ways of the world because of very strict mom who over the top. Therefore, when her uncle who lives in Los Angeles extend an invitation for her to come out for a visit she jumped at the chance to get away from her mom for a while.
Once she got there she could hardly believe her luck that she was going to Halloween party where Hollywood celebrities will also be at. Cât despre Kayla, cumva as fi vrut-o mai puternica, mai încrezătoare in ea însăși, mai asumată, dar data fiind experiența ei, am înțeles de ce a acționat așa cum a făcut-o, dar care a înțeles ca pentru a fi fericita, trebuie sa riște. Așa ca dacă vreți o lectura care sa va aducă zâmbetul pe buze, aceasta este alegerea perfecta, iar eu voi mai citi si alte cărți autoarei, deoarece aceasta prima întâlnire cu ea, a fost una plăcută pentru mine.

Nick is an up and coming actor in Los Angeles, known for his part as lead actress in a series. Partnered in the series with a young and tiny waif of a woman. Kayla is a young woman living in a small town with her extremely sheltering mom. At 24 she is headed to Los Angeles to visit her uncle and his 2 adult kids.
Once there, she is surprised to be heading to a celebrity Halloween party. Being uncomfortable in the provocative dress her cousin got for her, she went along to the party with her cousins and their friends. She was soon left on her own. After hiding in the corner of the room she went in search of a bathroom. One of her cousin Gabe's friends came to show her the way to an ensuite through one of the bedrooms. Coming out, she was put in a desperate situation. As she cried out, a handsome stranger burst in to save her.
This was the gorgeous actor her cousin had gone on and on about. She was deeply grateful but admitted to him she hadn't seen any of his shows, and Nick actually hadn't been happier. This woman was everything he could dream of. She was gorgeous, funny, and smart. Plus she also had curves he wanted next to him.
When something happens and her gown is ripped from her, Nick does what he can to cover her but Kayla is mortified and heads back home the next day. Then a picture is sent to her of the incident and she is blackmailed to send money to stop pictures from getting published.
Nick can't forget this incredible woman. Forced by his studio to get a female companion, his first choice is Kayla. When Nick's agent contacts her to offer her a paid contract to be his companion at all Hollywood events, she agrees to it. She needs to hide the pictures from her mom and pay off the blackmailer.
Wow! Now things get interesting. The longer Nick is with Kayla, the more he wants her. And not just short term. Kayla has never been in a relationship especially with an older man. She's terrified by the person coming after them, and scared to share anything with Nick.

The first several chapters of this book were really not appealing to me, but I decided to give the book a little longer before giving up. I’m glad I stuck with it because the storyline really turned into something I found enjoyable.
Kayla is from a small town in the Midwest, and has been extremely sheltered by her mother - almost to the point of abusive control. Kayla gets invited by her uncle to visit California and spend time with her cousins and she grabs at the opportunity for some freedom. Unfortunately, her cousins and their friends are horrible people who treat her poorly.
While at a Halloween party she runs into Nick, a Hollywood Hunk who no one recognizes in his famous character’s costume. An embarrassing moment has Kayla running and she goes home a week early. Her shame is magnified when pictures arrive threatening public exposure if she doesn’t pay her blackmailer.
Nick was enthralled by Kayla and her goddess-figure. He has been pressured by his studio to have a consistent companion who attends industry events and parties, and decides he wants Kayla to be his fake date.
The relationship starts out fake, becomes very real and is entertaining to see develop. Nick’s assistant, Issac adds some humor into moments that have Kayla flustered.
From the very beginning, Nick is adamant about his interest and desire for Kayla. He is determined to go slow and be as creative as necessary to get her in his life. He is very protective and supportive of her, as well as tender and sweet. Kayla is wide-eyed and overwhelmed by much of her exposure to well everything after being so sheltered; however, she also has an innate ability to negotiate terms in her favor.
Overall this is an enjoyable and entertaining read.

Here is another hit from the Aplha Billionaire set and in this one we get Nick a new successful actor that goes to a Halloween party dressed as his most recent character hoping to blend in and not recognized. Kayla was raised by her mom in a sheltered environment, never being able to be a normal person. When her Uncle invites Kayla out to LA to spend time with her cousins Kayla jumps at the chance to live a bit. When spending time with her cousins they are mean and make jokes about her size and when she goes to the same party as Nick they meet unexpectedly. Kayla finds herself alone in a room with a creep and Nick saves her. Nick tried for several months to get Kayla to call him back but she was to over whelmed of being embarrassed. Unknown to them someone takes pictures of a situation they find themselves in only to find out later she is being blackmailed for money. Kayla finds herself forced to accept to be a fake dating campion to Nick to pay them. When all their feeling become real, living with lies and the pressure of making payments sends Kayla back home and the blackmailers make their decision causing a media storm the Nick does what any man in love does…protects his woman and their love by making those responsible pay the price of causing issues! Not sure what to say about this one. I enjoyed it but it felt disconnected somehow. There was always time lapses in the beginning, chapters that started with two weeks later, a month later, things like that. What the heck happened between where the last chapter left off and the new one? Plus, I feel like Nick and Kayla had a strained relationship. They didn’t really spend much time together, plus she was a little too naive for me. I get she was sheltered growing up but it would have been nice if she had a stronger head on her shoulders. On top of that, I felt like Nick was very secretive. I would have liked to know about his family and this supposed empire his parents built but it was never talked about, not even when he gets close to Kayla. There was more characters I didn’t like compared to who I did like. Not enough to warrant a low rating though because I did like the story and where it was headed. It was nice to see a character who wasn’t afraid to give his heart away and be closed off to the idea of finding love. From the beginning I think he was ready to be all in with Kayla and I liked that. Again, I read the books out of order being that each one doesn’t continue a timeline. Combine all of this together and you do get some positive moments I enjoyed about the book but the other stuff bothered me enough to give it a lower rating.

It really threw her for a loop when she was allow to go visit her uncle and cousins in LA for three weeks by herself. The entire time she was there her cousins and friends would be passive aggressive about Kayla and her body or how naive she was. They invited her to the Halloween party and helped her get dressed. When they arrived she was dumped. While she was exposing she ran into Nick and knew it was him immediately. After an incident she left the party and left LA a full week early and went back home.
Kayla was being blackmailed because of pictures that were taken at the party. Nick couldn’t get Kayla off his mind. When Nick’s manger tracked Kayla down and offered her a job she decided to take it to help pay the blackmailers and protect Nick.

This is the second book I have read in this series, and loving them, this is Kayla and Nick's story.
Kayla had led a sheltered life, but then got the opportunity to go to L.A. to visit her cousins and uncle, so she went. This has Kayla running back home to her hometown. Nick wants to see her again, so he puts someone on locating her and offering her a job. She agrees to the job but only because someone is blackmailing her with photos of her and Nick. Will something grow between them when she returns to LA? Who is the blackmailer?
This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Accidents will happen
Kayla and Nick met u expectedly at a party but though she guess he was the famous actors among those at the costume party she only knew what her cousins and her cousins friends told hee. The book is about somany things like trust, deception, making changes, finding you own identity and etc,. Kayla mother was a trip and it was hard for me to find the love between them, but Kayla still gave her respect although her mom treated her wrong. How she believed Jess over her own daughter is horrible. The only problem I had with this story was the low level of amber in this story. Her and amber were best friends and the plan of them being in LA should have happened and she should have been more in the story

Hot Mess was an enjoyable read. Kayla is in California visiting family when she meets movie star Nick. This story is a little slow in the beginning but it picks up. It excludes a virgin, blackmail, a fake fiancé and age gap. While Nick has real feelings for Kayla and is trying to take his time with her as not to scare her off, someone else is trying to sabotage them. Will Nick and Kayla be able to have a real relationship? Will he be able to probe Kayla that he loves her no matter what? This was a great story and characters. I would recommend this book.

Another wonderful Christmas read. I can’t get enough of them this time of year. Kayla is visiting her cousins in LA and meets Nick at a Halloween party where she is the only one to recognize him in costume. Kayla is a sheltered 24 year old who has no real confidence in herself and he is a rich actor who is made by the studio to be seen with a girlfriend at events. He picks her because he is attracted to her and she can’t believe he actually wants to be with her. I just started reading this author and really enjoy her books. This one was a real page turner.

Ça se lit tout seul j’ai pas vu le temps passer.
Nick et Kayla sont mims ensemble, j’aime trop comment ils prennent soin l’un de l’autre.
Mais Kayla a quand même un côté gamine qui m’a soûler et Nick, il a des propos sur les femmes à des moments, des remarques de vieux mec et aussi. il a le droit d’aimer un type de femme mais pas besoin de descendre les autres.
Le côté chantage est pas trop mis en avant c’est vraiment dommage car c’est un peu ce qui rajoute l’intrigue et le suspense mais on en parle 5min.

This was a pleasant and enjoyable story. The storyline and build up was good and I loved the relationship and chemistry between Nick and Kayla. The only downside and what I had a problem with was her mother, I didn't really like her or like how she was and behaved towards Kayla. Despite that, it's an enjoyable story and highly recommended.

Unique and entertaining
Kayla is a young woman living a sheltered life in her mother’s home. The small town atmosphere and strict, judgmental nature of her mother are what drove Kayla to ho to Lo Angeles where she met handsome and kind actor, Nick.
The story takes on the moral behavior of young women, while giving us a romantic and passionate pairing. It is a refreshing take on a holiday story and I enjoyed it.

I loved the plot of this book. Nick and Layla's story was original and something I don't read much the Hollywood actor trope. I loved that Nick fell first and had to win over Kayla. It was just very slow in the beginning, almost all of the first half of the book, and then it picks up. But honestly, it took me a long time to read because it was so boring in the beginning, but it's worth it to read the second half. I wish authors either edited for length or put more into the book.

Enjoyable romance. I liked Kayla and Nick's relationship. Kayla is somewhat naive with an overprotective mother who has constantly oozed disappointment and disparaging comments to her daughter. The story is engrossing despite being a bit disjointed at times.

This story is one of my favorite this year, you find all of the emotions you love to have in your read. We follow Kayla’s path throughout the good and the bad, you will fall in love with her story. fun but needs editing
I really enjoyed the story, but several times I had to reread parts because the editing made it difficult to follow. I also questioned the naivety of Kayla. At 24, she should have a little more common sense. Many moments, I was shaking my head thinking that it was far fetched that she was so easily controlled.

Be A Lion!
The descriptors of Hot Mess made me believe I would really like this book, but…. I know it’s fiction but what 24 year old in 2022 is as naive, sheltered, and over-protected as Kayla???? The plus for the book is that Kayla is a plus sized woman and Nick ensures his love moves Kayla’s self esteem a major step forward.

This book was so fun to read. I enjoyed the storyline about a small-town girl and a older actor finding each other. There was family drama and rude people to deal with but the ending made it worth it. This is a definite must read.
