University of Cambridge

The University of Cambridge (informally Cambridge University or Cambridge) is a public research university located in Cambridge, United Kingdom. It is the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world (after the University of Oxford), and the seventh-oldest globally. In post-nominals the university's name is abbreviated as Cantab, a shortened form of Cantabrigiensis (an adjective derived from Cantabrigia, the Latinised form of Cambridge).

The university grew out of an association of scholars in the city of Cambridge that was formed in 1209, early records suggest, by scholars leaving Oxford after a dispute with townsfolk. The two "ancient universities" have many common features and are often jointly referred to as Oxbridge. In addition to cultural and practical associations as a historic part of British society, they have a long history of rivalry with each other.

Cambridge ranks first in the world in both the 2010 and 2011 QS World University Rankings, sixth in the world in the 2011 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and fifth in the world (and first in Europe) in the 2011 Academic Ranking of World Universities. Cambridge regularly contends with Oxford for first place in UK league tables. In the most recently published ranking of UK universities, published by The Guardian newspaper, Cambridge was ranked first.

Graduates of the university have won a total of 65 Nobel Prizes, the most of any university in the world. In 2009, the marketing consultancy World Brand Lab rated Cambridge University as the 50th most influential brand in the world, and the 4th most influential university brand, behind only Harvard, MIT and Stanford University, while in 2011, Cambridge ranked third, after Harvard and MIT, in The Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings, which reflect the reputation of universities for educational and research excellence based on a survey of academics worldwide.

Cambridge is a member of the Coimbra Group, the G5, the International Alliance of Research Universities, the League of European Research Universities and the Russell Group of research-led British universities. It forms part of the 'Golden Triangle' of British universities.

I am a full-time IELTS teacher and have been using this book since it was published in my class on the Gold Coast in Queensland. This is a great book for practicing all aspects of the test in a real situation. In my class we use it on a regular basis.

I find the best way to use it is to first study a reliable text like "Foundation IELTS Masterclass", and then find a task from this text that can be used to reinforce the text. For example, if we study how to write a process essay in the class, I search for a process essay in one of the Cambridge IELTS books.

Cambridge IELTS 7 has the following writing task 1 question types:

Test 1: Table
Test 2: Line chart
Test 3: Bar chart
Test 4: Pie charts

I used Cambridge Guide a while ago (for 2-3 months). It was detailed and clear, with the Readings close to the real test that you may face. The Readings were somehow complex yet they are close to academic settings. The Writing parts seem quite strong due to the given models and examples. This material provided qualified Listening and Speaking training sections as well. Overall, I recommend you to refer to this material in order to perform well on this test and improve your proficiency.

کلا خوب بود ولی تست های الان بهترن

ریدینگ های جنرالش رو با کتابی مثل کمبریج 16 جنرال مقایسه میکنم، نسبت به اون خیلی قوی و استاندارد نیستن.

It is a good supplementary book on the IELTS examination and provides a rather good exam experience , but there are also flaws in this book which may come to eye very easily such as the fact that not all of the writing tasks have answers from the experts and somehow it makes it difficult to recognize what should be written or what should not be.
All in all I rate this book 3 out of 5 , because I simply liked it , but there are other books that should be studied alongside this book to in order to provide a sort of comprehensive material for the exam.

Tbh I did not like the texts in this one as much, but they were harder and more challenging which only helped me. Essay topics as well. Listening and speaking part were interesting and easy though.
